A guy on a St Mirren forum knows his family and told us about the Shankland thing ages ago. Player is keen to come to get some regular football, just waiting on McInnes to give it the go ahead. The Langfield rumour has been about for a while too, apparently was just waiting until after his testimonial to sign. So should see both happen this week, if they're true.

Haha. Was he that bad for you? There's absolutely no way McGinn will be back at St Mirren anyway. We offered him a new deal and to train with us, but he hasn't been back. He could also go abroad leaving us without any compo money, so I'd much rather he went to Utd if that's the alternative.

Not sure Paton is the kind of player we need. To be honest, we need a centre half, a couple of strikers, a back up goalie/coach (rumoured to be Langfield) and a right sided midfielder. Any options there?

As far as I know it's not quite done and dusted yet but they've put an offer on the table. Around 170k with a player going to St Mirren as part of the deal, possibly Rankin. The development fee due to St Mirren was over 200k, but they'll probably want to take any money rather than him going abroad which would result in no compensation needing to be paid.

St Mirren beat Oldham 1-0 last night in a closed doors game. Seemed to be a pretty strong Oldham line up, with St Mirren playing with about 5 trialists in the first half. Goal came from Lewis McLear.

Surely we wouldn't have brought in players after the sale if that was true? We brought in Genev, Gow, Sadlier, and Sonupe (loan) post-sale. The BoD stated earlier in the season that the sale was due to a 'gentleman's agreement', not about finances. Hmm.
