  1. 100% agree in normal circumstances, but not with the way things are. We had a lucky escape with Fleck it seems, in that he didn't infect anyone else in the group but it could have so easily been different. It's not the spending time with their families that is the issue for me, it's letting them out of the secure team bubble. As CC says above, it could have been managed in a much more secure manner and they would have been able to have that family time within a secure environment.
  2. Quite surprised to see that we have allowed the players to leave the camp and spend time with their families at home prior to re-joining up. It's a huge and completely unnecessary risk. It only takes one of their family members to have been a bit lax and they could get infected and bring it into the camp. I really hope this doesn't come back to bite us. We could end up in a situation whereby we are missing players for the first couple of games if they come back and return a positive test.
  3. Well, it maybe doesn't count for the men's side of things but the women went out of the world cup due to a VAR decision in 2019. Alexander saved a penalty in the 4th minute of injury time but VAR called it back to be re-taken and Argentina scored and we went out. Shouldn't have got to that stage with being 3 up with 15 mins to go but there you go 🤣
  4. 50% chance of playing in Budapest, 30% chance of playing at Hampden and a 20% chance of playing in Seville. To play in Glasgow the best 3rd place teams would have to be made up of the groups noted above. To play in Seville they would need to come from Groups A, B, D & E or A, B D & F. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/UEFA_Euro_2020_knockout_phase Table on this link shows all the permutations.
  5. I would imagine that most people will be going to the stadium at the end of their entry window, especially the early ones to minimise the amount of time waiting in the ground. Depending on where they activate your ticket they could well have queues of people who joined within their window but don't get to the front until it has passed. I think as long as you're close to your allocated entry time then you'll be fine. The only issues may arise if you're a couple of hours out and they may them prioritise people who are arriving within their allocated time.
  6. If we were to finish 3rd and one of the best runners up there is, I think, a 50% chance we'd be playing in Budapest against the winners of Group C which the Netherlands are the favourites for you'd say. A 30% chance of playing at Hampden against (most likely) Spain and a 20% chance of playing in Seville against probably Belgium.
  7. If we play at Hampden in the R16 then we will be playing the winners of Group E, which is more than likely to be Spain. Would want to avoid that! Finish 2nd in our group however and we'd play the runner up of Group E in Copenhagen. That would be one of Sweden, Poland or Slovakia.
  8. Spoke to someone at the Clockwork last night, they are still unsure as to what they are doing on the 14th with regards to an opening time but they hope to confirm this soon. I would expect that as a minimum they will be opening at 11am, maybe they are looking at the logistics of opening earlier and offering drinks along with breakfast which may be possible for them.
  9. The only place that would sell alcohol prior to 11am is probably a Wetherspoons in town, where you'd probably have to buy a full breakfast along with a pint. This was in "normal" times so not sure how Covid impacts this.
  10. I2 row HH for the Croatia game. 18.30-19.00 entry time which is ideal
  11. Czech tickets have arrived, I3 row B. 11.30-12pm entry time 🙄 Still waiting on Croatia tickets
  12. Should know within the next few days whether there is going to be an issue within the camp. Most players will have been there for a week by that point and anyone that has caught it prior to joining will start showing positive tests. Happy that we're being over cautious, even if it makes a bit of a mockery of the Netherlands game with so many missing. Fingers crossed this will be the end of it and with the players all being isolated with each other there should be minimal risk of contracting Covid from now on in. Most of the coaching and backroom staff will be of an age that they should have had at least one vaccine dose so far so hopefully they are protected to some degree.
  13. Maybe we can borrow one of England's right backs??
  14. Adams, Hanley, Marshall, McGinn, O'Donnell and Patterson are out of the game tonight as a "precaution" after Fleck's positive test.
  15. It's true. Scored more than Richarlison at Everton and he scored one goal less than Cavani & Aubameyang.
  16. When you get a further email from UEFA. Still waiting on mine also.
  17. Maybe not the whole squad but I think what is defined as a close contact is a lot stricter than elsewhere. I seem to remember some kind of issue with some celtic players having to isolate on the back of Armstrong testing positive, but Tierney who was also a close contact was back playing for Arsenal. There may well be other issues, but these teams will know more of what's expected of them than we do. I mean surely it's costing them more to stay in their own country and then charter planes back and forth for the 3 games. Then organise travel to and from Airports within the UK.
  18. Based in Middlesbrough as by the time we had qualified, both Czech Republic and Croatia had taken two of the main bases that we could have used. Looks a decent decision now as Croatia and the Czechs have had to abandon the camps in Scotland due to the restrictions imposed by the Scottish government. I understand that in the event of one member of the squad testing positive, the remaining members would all have to isolate. Absolutely bonkers and no wonder they would rather base themselves in their own country and fly in for the games.
  19. Probably a difference between the restrictions imposed by the Scottish and UK government rather than anything that UEFA have stipulated
  20. I'm not massively worried about this at the moment, there have been numerous instances in the past whereby players have tested positive and it hasn't spread throughout the rest of the team. He'll have likely caught this prior to meeting up with the squad due to known incubation periods, so no suggestion at this time that there is any issue with how the SFA are running their operation. We'll also have hopefully caught his infection pretty quickly before he'll have had much chance to spread it to anyone else, which is good news. I assume that every player will have their own rooms to minimise contact in that regard. The players will likely now be tested daily to keep an eye on things and if anyone tests positive in the next few days, that should be caught before it causes any major issues.
  21. Does anyone know of any Euros related programmes that the BBC or STV have on in the run up to the tournament? I was sure I saw an advert for a BBC programme, but have been looking out for it and haven't noticed anything. Would be really good to get a "route to the finals" type of programme with interviews with the players/management. Edited to add - https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/m000wzy9 Just found this, which must have been what I saw the advert for.
  22. Czech Rep and Croatia. Couldn't have asked for more to be honest, absolutely delighted with that. Now the wait is on to see where my tickets actually are. Hope i'm not in the front row 🙈
  23. Was absolutely bricking it opening the email 🤣
  24. Email has now arrived from UEFA confirming that the ballots have been completed 😁
