PLEASE READ: TAMB is not closing!   10/12/2017

Just to provide an update on the future of the Tartan Army Message Board. To be clear the board will not be closing and instead will be staying open and will hopefully go from strength to strength. Who Are We? We are a group of Scotland supporters who have varied skills and expertise, along with experience of  being involved in football and running football message boards. When we heard the TAMB faced closure, we contacted the old team with a detailed plan which involved financing and running the board. After speaking to the old team on a number of occasions they have allowed us to put our plan into action. While speaking to them and going on their experience and that of those before them, we have elected to keep our identity private, however rest assured we have the best intentions for the board and those on it. Our Plans. Our plan will involve a number of stages which we hope will not only keep the board going but help improve and rejuvenate it. Our first step will be to do a bit of a clean-up of the board. This will involve some downtime for a few hours where posting will be disabled. We plan to do this early next week, a full notice will be posted on the board then. Once that is completed we will be upgrading the current board platform, both behind the scenes and hopefully aesthetically too. There will be an ongoing process of board improvements which we hope you, the user will help us with, so you have a board you will enjoy We thank the old board team for all their hard work, dedication and their help during this handover and hope you will all help support our plans going forward.

  1. Gonna miss this place

I joined around 2006 and it was an excellent forum from a Scotland fan's perspective. Info regarding tickets/away games/travel was great along with useful "in-the-know" stuff about the national team such as upcoming friendlies. The internet has since evolved and social media has grown. It's easier to get info nowadays and websites like Skyscanner have come on the scene. A lot of the regular posters have left since then and the place has felt different. In recent years it felt like your opinion didn't count for much unless you were a regular with thousands of posts and some regular posters drained out a lot of debate. It's a shame to lose a forum discussing all things relating to the national team and the Tartan Army but for me it's not been the same for a wee while.
  2. New Video! Scotland v England - The Preview

Appreciate the feedback. The thinking behind it was my last England preview featured the Auld Enemy fixture heavily and so i didn't want to do an exact copy of that. Instead I wanted to set a reminder of some great moments at Hampden Park where hopefully we'll witness another famous moment at Hampden this week. Cheers.

  4. Strachan interview

Now I remember why I don't post or read this forum anymore. I'm all for debate but personal insults are low and uncalled for. Won't be coming back.
  5. Strachan interview

You think Italy play 3 at the back because it is their weakest position?
  6. Strachan interview

They all play at a higher level than our first choice centre halfs but no point in arguing, it's all Strachan's fault.....
  7. Strachan interview

Somebody said Scott Brown is arguably to blame for the failure of the campign. If that's not pointing the finger I dont know what is. If Gordon Strachan is to blame for the failure of this campaign who is to blame for the last 20 years of failed campaigns.
  8. Strachan interview

Our back four is not good enough at the moment. Our holding midfielder is expected to do too much over the course of the game to protect them. Scott Brown did a lot more good than bad over the campaign and to point the finger at him seems incredibly harsh in my opinion. But this is a thread about the manager not Scott Brown. People are unhappy with the manager's selection but until we get better quality at the back I see no real alternatives that would do any better at the moment.
  9. Strachan interview

Don't recall that being the problem that night. A lack of creativity and movement in the final 3rd, yes. Georgia game alone didn't cost us the campaign, poor defending across the campaign cost us in the end. If you think Scott Brown is our problem, I think many fans and people involved in football would disagree.
  10. Strachan interview

What has a holding midfielder got to do with how we defend a set piece? Still no suggestions....
  11. Strachan interview

People always seem unhappy about Strachan selections but I see no suggestions forthcoming about replacement defenders, which is where a lot of our problem lies. Hopefully a defensive minded coach to replace McCall might make a slight difference.
  12. Strachan interview

    Well put.
  13. Iceland v England

That video is an absolute classic

  15. EU Referendum

I'm an SNP voter but I am becoming more disillusioned by them all the time. I am also pro Yes.
