  1. Brilliant achievement from Clarke and the squad, sets us up nicely going into the draw next week and loved his confidence last night in saying 'this group wont need a play-off' I have been critical of him in the past, mainly after the Euros and the play-off in June, but in the cold light of day, especially in relation to the play-off, we were (and so were Ukraine I may add) shafted a bit with the play-off. I'm convinced had those games been played in March we'd be going to Qatar and so would Ukraine if they had beat us, the Welsh getting 3 months between games was wrong. The performances this last week have been excellent and showed we can play with a back 4 and dig deep when we need to. As has been mentioned though the change to a 4 has been thrust upon him due to the injuries. The big test comes next year when he has Robbo back fit, how does he deal with that? Will he have the balls to drop him and play KT at left back in a 4? I think a back 3 will work in certain games, away to a top seed for example maybe. Its a great place to be in that's for sure have 2/3 options at each full back position, never mind the depth we have in other areas. 3 games and Billy Gilmour never kicked a ball.
  2. I had never thought of the Russia situation with that, was thinking last night that 2 home wins probably leaves us in a good place for best 2nd place, if at worst we loose away to Ukraine, as obviously the best 2nd placed team will be pot 2 for the main qualifiers. How would Russia being allowed back in affect it (unlikely I know)? I know their games wont be played but would imagine they would slot in as the worst League B side and get relegated.
  3. BBC Scotland Euros Breakfast show said that while no direct discussion with PHE the SFA liaised with the Chief Medical Officer for North East England. They will have had to have provided bus and plane manifests, training footage etc. So based on the fact the 25 others have travelled there clearly the CMO officer is happy.
  4. That has baffled me a bit as well. Could have been a hotel staff member? Or were they closer to their families than we thought.
  5. Yes sorry just seen that. Also just realised that Group C goes first tomorrow so Austria and Ukraine cant really take a chance and play out a 0-0, incase a freak Finland result happened.
  6. We need a 2 clear goal win to get ahead of the Swiss.
  7. Exactly, its not that far fetched that they could still go through. All it takes in Finlad and Denmark loosing tomorrow (highly possible) and a draw in our match and they will go through.
  8. Yeah same starting team but this is the game we have to use the 5 subs of needed. Forrest, Fraser, Nisbet especially to create and get goals if needed.
  9. With the nature of this tournament we are far from out and need to pick ourselves up. We had 19 shots a goal ffs. That Dykes miss near the end was criminal, the Forrest one 9 times out of 10 it goes in. Big changes needed for Friday though. SOD looked like a rabbit in the headlights and just isn’t good enough at that level. He’ll do ok against the pot 5/6 sides but not in games like yesterday. I’d go with the below on Friday but for Patterson and Gilmour I think Clarke will pick Forrest and McGregor. We need Tierney back Gordon Patterson Hendry Hanley Tierney Robbo Gilmour McTominay McGinn Fraser Adams Get running at their defence as Mings isn’t that good and if they play Maguire he’ll not be any where near fit.
  10. Plus Middlesborough’s training ground is right across the road from the hotel, all in the same complex. The only other option I read late last year was staying at Mar Hall and using Murray Park (or whatever its called now) but that meant a drive every day.
  11. While Gallagher done great for us last year he is now behind Cooper and Hanley for that middle position. Can’t see him starting.
  12. The formal PCR test is only needed if you return a positive lateral flow test. Its is heavily reliant on folk being very honest.
  13. No you just need to take one test with 48 hours before the gates open. So anytime from 5pm on Wednesday 16th.
  14. Oh aye thats another test I get πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚
  15. Thats going to be a pain the backside
  16. There is different permutations depending on what groups the best 4 come from. It’s all here-https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/UEFA_Euro_2020 There is a 50% chance we will play in Budapest in last 16.
  17. No test needed unless its changed in the last day or so.
  18. If he is fit I’d fancy him for Czech game with Adams as he caused them all sorts of problems in Nations League.
  19. I still think McTominay will be in midfield. For me Hendry looks to have nailed down the right centre half position. I could see Armstrong playing further up the park where Christie was tonight supporting Adams.
  20. I don't think so as they were all cleared to play tonight but SFA chose an ultra cautious stance on it.
  21. I do agree to an extent with all the travelling. Did the Czechs not pull out when we were already in Spain? Its not the travel that's caused the problem though. Fleck is asymptomatic and brought it with him. The 6 players were all tested again this morning and all negative I've read.
  22. The Dutch I believe had the call on that and they were happy to go ahead. The 6 players in question haven't travelled along with Fleck. They could have as they all produced negative tests after being identified as close contacts of Fleck.
  23. I'd go with this team Gordon Fraser Gallagher Cooper Tierney Robbo McGregor Turnbull Armstrong Dykes Christie Still a decent team. Maybe Gilmour and McTominay need to be called in now.
  24. Thankfully they didn't travel to Portugal either.
  25. Scored more than Werner and same as Firmino and Jesus.
