rosscarnie
Can someone tell me if the group placings for these qualifiers are decided on a head to head basis or goal difference Also does anyone have a bus running to the Germany game from Edinburgh? Toepoke
Head to head results, even if more than 2 teams tie on points. Given the amount of tie break criteria it's almost impossible for goal difference to count. Can't help you with the bus though...

Which helps us as in the event of us being level on points with Germany or Poland we would almost certainly have better head to head results. Contact either Edinburgh Tartan Army or Hebrides Bar Tartan Army as regards the bus.

EIFA10
Article 13 Equality of points qualifying competition 13.01 If two or more teams in the same group are equal on points on completion of the group matches, the following criteria are applied, in the order given, to determine the rankings: a. higher number of points obtained in the group matches played among the teams in question; b. superior goal difference from the group matches played among the teams in question; c. higher number of goals scored in the group matches played among the teams in question; d. higher number of goals scored away from home in the group matches played among the teams in question; e. if, after having applied criteria a) to d), teams still have an equal ranking, criteria a) to d) are reapplied exclusively to the matches between the teams in question to determine their final rankings. If this procedure does not lead to a decision, criteria f) to j) apply; f. superior goal difference in all group matches; g. higher number of goals scored in all group matches; h. higher number of away goals scored in all group matches; i. fair play conduct in all group matches as defined in Annex C.5.1; j. position in the UEFA national team coefficient rankings (see Annex B.1.2.. So if we finsih level on points with Poland all we would need is a 0-0 or 1-1 at Hampden to qualify
EIFA10
So if we finsih level on points with Poland all we would need is a 0-0 or 1-1 at Hampden to qualify Yes and the same would apply with Germany. A 1-0 home win would also see us finish above them on head to head.
