scottincarlisle
If you leave your car anywhere you'll probably see it when you are across the water.
Deedee
It's not that expensive to park in the car park, £5 for 24 hours I think. After the rugby a couple of weeks ago they just opened the gates and no one had to pay anything.

Stella Artois 1366
Cairnryan really only consists of one road along coast. There are no car parks that I know of but there's free on-street parking along roughly half of the village. Search for the Merchant House B&B (Alan and Fiona's place which I highly recommend for anyone looking for pre-sail food or drink) on Google maps to see an example of the free parking outside. The A77 is a busy road with lorries passing by but locals and visitor park their cars on these parking strips. 5 minute walk to the ferry port. Wigtownshire-Matt
Is there any free parking near the ferry port Depends who you're travelling with. Stena Line have a car park and charge for it. P&O have a car park and don't charge. People have been know to leave their car at P&O and then head up to to Stena. Probably a 15 minute walk.
