  1. Baffling. Even more so that I can't even be bothered watching highlights of the SPL anymore.
  2. "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" should be bigger than the UK that it is. It's the best sitcom since Seinfeld and Curb your enthusiasm. Just avoid season 13 (the actors were all off doing their own thing, leaving the season a complete disaster) and the current season (14), as it's obvious that the actors and writers are just going through the motions. Hopefully it doesn't do a Simpsons by continuing for so long that there's more bad seasons than good.
  3. And yet 7 people want to make a player who is playing his first season as a regular with his club (McTominay) captain over a European Cup winner (Robertson). Crazy. Also, we need to remember that Belgium are number one country in the world, and they produce word class players, so I'm guessing their top league is pretty decent. I'm delighted that Hornby is playing (and starting) in the Belgium top league, as he'll learn more in that league than playing for the Everton u23s, the English Championship or the SPL.
  4. Usually I'm all for giving a manager a chance. I know how massive a job that Steve Clarke is and I know that his hands are tied, in so many ways.... however.... Steve Clarke just isn't progressive enough, nor is he proactive, from a tactical point of view. It's plain to see what has to happen, Strachan saw it and so did McLeish, but neither of them stuck to their convictions. Steve Clarke just has to look at Sheffield United and how they are defying the odds in the EPL, whilst having zero players that you'd call a "star". I doubt he will, though. He'll probably do it at the end of his tenure, for one match, like his previous two predecessors did.
  5. The Old Firm are an easy target. The other 10 SPL clubs have to take as much blame as the Old Firm. The other ten club's bread and butter is facing the Old Firm 4 times per season. In a perfect world the SPL would be 16/18 teams, but the other ten would never vote for this, as they'd take a financial hit by not facing Celtic and Rangers 4 times per season. As for the young players being stifled, the simple solution to that is introducing a homegrown rule.
  6. Agreed, that's why Robertson is, and should remain, the captain. This is McTominay's first season as a Manchester United regular, the last thing he needs is captaincy, either at domestic or international level.
  7. I know. He's the Peter Pan of football, probably because he's never really developed.
  8. On the bench against Watford.
  9. Pure technique, he's the best midfielder we have (had).
  10. John Fleck with a goal. Sheffield United ripping Burnley to shreds 3:0. Their overlapping center back creating their second goal. McGinn with an assist.
  11. Today sums up why McTominay shouldn't be captain (yet). He followed up his best performance of the season, against Chelsea, with his worst, against Bournemouth. He's still raw and still learning and very inconsistent. Robertson is a European Cup winner and he never delivers less than 7/10 on a weekly basis.
  12. McTominay and Fraser started today. Neither did very much. Tierney starts.
  13. And now on the Redcafe he's the worst player ever to play for Manchester United. This is his first season as a regular, so he'll have his up and downs. I wish he had senior players that he could look at for inspiration, but when the senior players are as hopeless as Young, Lingard, etc, what hope does he have? 5/10 today.
  14. I added McGinn to the edit. I'd also add McKenna. True. Positivity? Nah. I'll stick with cardio and weights.
  15. Personally, I'm writing-off this current generation of players. Well, all of them apart from Tierney, Robertson, Fraser, McGinn, McTominay. I'd happily retire the rest. Might sound insane but i'd promote players from u19/17/21 level, asap. I'm sick of players like Mulgrew, Cooper, McGregor, etc.
  16. Fine. You're done, but if your argument is that we do have good enough players then you're as wrong as you are done. Not when there's sense behind it.
  17. The drunkness. Either you're drunk or you've completely and totally lost your mind. You've mentioned that you're "done" six times. Which is fair enough, but why make a thread about a topic that you don't want to discuss?
  18. Will we qualify via the mythical playoffs? In my opinion, we have a 1% chance. And the fact that it's still possible to qualify is the reason it's 1% and not 0%. So, if we don't qualify for the European Championships via the old fashioned way, or the playoffs, this is clear evidence that the players aren't up to it.
  19. Then why post this thread? Are you drunk?
  20. Yeah. Because it's always about the management. It's always about bad coaching, etc. It's never the players... Our players aren't good enough to participate in a major championship. As a collective unit we aren't good enough, I would've thought not qualifying for anything since 1998 would've been a bit of a clue.
