  1. No. I wish. Gilmour and Gauld would've been in my first XI.. which explains why they're in brackets.
  2. Updated, as Marshall may not be 100% and Jack is out. In brackets I've added Gilmour and Gauld, as those twk would've been in my first XI: Gordon Hanley- Gallagher - Tierney Hendry Robertson McTominay - Fleck (Gilmour) McGinn Dykes - Fraser (Gauld) Bench: Marshall McLoughlin Considine McKenna O'Donnell Taylor McLean Christie Nisbet McBurnie
  3. It's just the one way. Potentially Scott Banks to Walea, too. Is it any surprise, though? When kids see the brilliant talent of Billy Gilmour. They see Ryan Gauld making waves in the Portugese Primeira Liga. And also David Turnbull making marks in the SPL. And yet, all three of them are snubbed. If they chose Wales or Ireland, they see a realistic chance of breaking into the squad. With Scotland? A potential generational player, Billy Gilmour, is being snubbed for a Norwich player. Insane.
  4. He would be in my squad. He was Inter Miami's MVP (POTY). Since the squad includes Higuain and Matuidi, it's quite an achievement.
  5. Yeah, there's lots of variables. The lad Is only 16 years old, just a kid, so all we can do is wish him well, whichever nation he ultimately chooses.
  6. I'd take that. Fraser or McGinn would have to stay forward, out of possession, though as it would occupy their midfield and leave us less vulnerable. Leaving one up front Is why we spend a couple of decades in the wilderness.
  7. Oh. Definitely not on the same level. Those players were world class. Brown did a good job, but I'd say that even he was a box to box player. I think you might be right about McGregor. Hope you're right about McTominay. It'll be interesting who gets the nod, Dykes or Adams. If I were to guess, it'll be Dykes. I don't think Clarke would be brave enough to pick both. It'll probably be Fraser/Christie + 1.
  8. The best of luck to him. If he can split the Old Firm then it's great for Scottish football. A big "if", though.
  9. True. There still has to be a balance, though. United fans are praying that they'll buy an anchorman. There's a reason for that.
  10. I'm uneasy about the entire situation. Anchorman is a specialised position. If you remember players like Dunga, Lambert, Deschamps, Pirlo, Kante, Matic, etc, you'll know how important it is. God, even Stuart McCall would be heaven sent! (I rated McCall) Of all of those named I've seen McTominay the most. No one is a bigger fan or McTominay, but he does have this habit of ball watching. He needs to learn to press more often and smell the danger. He was a striker at youth level, so I get why he isn't defensively great. He's learning, though. We'll see what the lineup is soon enough. I have a hunch McTominay will be in the double-pivot. But then again, I thought Gauld, Turnbull and Gilmour would be called up...
  11. 16 yo Josh Feeney switches from Scotland to England English born. Scottish father.
  12. Show me where I said that I 100% would leave? I said, quite purposely, that I might leave. It's possible.
  13. Agreed. Fine. First time for everything. The amount of posts that I make, it's not even 0.01% But you? It must be around the 25% mark where you enter a thread, with the specific agenda of insulting me. That's why you got banned a week or so ago.
  14. In contrast, 0% of my posts are about you. Certainly not me coming into a thread with one specific agenda of mentioning you. I'm here to stay. By hook or by crook.
  15. In the Aston villa system Douglas Luiz is the anchorman, letting McGinn the journey forward.
  16. How much percentage of your posts are dedicated to me? 25%? More? In doing so, you're making 25% of things about me. lol. Thanks.
  17. You were trying to belittle me by saying the things that I just quoted. If you're going to keep doing that, throwing a belittling grenade into the mix, then it's clear you don't want to have a mature debate. No. I don't want to talk about Armstrong anymore.
  18. Agreed, but Jack is the only one capable of being the anchorman. Why do you think Manchester United fans refer to "McFred" as one entity? It's because they are lost without the other, when they play that role. I suppose. But I do worry about true lack of balance in the middle of midfield, though. It's a shame that McCrorie hasn't progressed as much as we thought he would... suppose that's why Gerrard was fine letting him go. No? Would you play two box to box midfielders in the double-pivot? Manchester United do that with McFred.... there's a reason why the United fans want Declan Rice.
  19. You lose all credibility when you boil things down to such condescending phrases such as "Its immature to say the least.", "Mindset of a 5 year old." And "Its primary school behaviour." If you are unable to win an argument without belittling someone, you lose all prospect of claiming the high ground.
  20. I'm not going anywhere. Some people should just accept that.
  21. Oh really? Someone doesn't like Jack because of how he left Averdeen. The one hates Fraser is because of the way he left Bournemouth. I'm done talking about Stuart Armstrong.
  22. Aye, alright. The previous 7 or so pages of the Players in action have went off topic. Suppose I'm getting the blame for that, too. And the Celtic and Rangers threads are all about personal attacks and insults. That was me, too, was it? Don't see you going into most of the threads here and telling people off for taking them off topic. Course not, as you have something against me. Like I said to Vanderank (sp?) This gruge you got going is going one way. I assure you.
  23. I don't know. Maybe. If you do a name check of all of our players that play in that role at club level: McGinn has to be babysit with Luiz; McLean with Skipp; McLean with Skipp; McGregor with Brown and McTominay with Fred. All of those second names are anchormen... alart from Fred. I just don't trust any of them in that role, especially not without Jack beside them.
