  1. Kenny McLean: Out. Aaron Hickey: Out. Ryan Jack: Out. Oliver McBurnie: Doubt.
  2. Dykes is on fire: In the last 8 matches he's scored 6 and set up 4. Che Adams is playing against Liverpool at 8:15 tonight.
  3. After Marshall's penalty heroics against Israel and especially Serbia. And his commitment to show up for us, for over a decade when he was behind McGregor and Gordon, it would be incredibly harsh to drop him. Marshall will and should be number one at the Euros. It's the future keeping situation I'm worried about.
  4. He's a throwback. Proper old school.
  5. He's the kind of player who could play in any outfield position and excel. He's that good. It's only a matter of time till he's the Arsenal captain.
  6. You don't have to explain the reason why you're here. It's a public message board. People shouldn't have to explain why they're here and ask not to be harassed. The Tartan Army is supposed to be a friendly bunch, and we are, generally, there's just a minority of people here that are... strange. Most of the people here are nice.
  7. https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/kieran-tierney-spared-arsenal-fury-24056818 That pretty much says it all. Misses 8 matches and yet was busting a gut for 80 minutes. He's proper old school. And for people to say that Arsenel aren't massive must have memories like gold fish. Growing up, Arsenal were massive under George Graham and then Arsene Wenger completely flipped the script and turned Arsenal into a more expansive side. However, I'd say that Wenger benefitted from the foundations set down by Graham (Seaman, Dixon, Keown/Bould, Adams and Winterburn). Without that foundation, Wenger would not have been as successful. It was the same when O'Leary took over from Graham at Leeds.
  8. Yeah, me, neither, to be honest. I think the squad is pretty much set in stone. The players that got us to Euro 2020 (Apart from Che Adams) will go. If it wasn't for VAR last night, he would've has three assists. Agreed. There's no reason.
  9. Back to sanity. Missed 8 matches or not, Tiermey was one of Arsenal's best players. He came off with about 20 mins to go, because he ran himself into the ground. As far as Arsenal as a football club goes. They're the 3rd biggest club in England. Without any doubt. They didn't pop up over night. They have legit history to back up their claim of being massive. Their problem is that Arsene Wenger is still in their DNA. Before that, it was George Graham, but the transition of Graham to Wenger was a smooth one, as Wenger was world class. In terms of former players managing the club that they played for, Arteta is less OGS, Guardiola and Zidane and more Frank Lampard. Arteta will probably be gone in the summer.
  10. The dude hasn't even agreed with me half the time. And now you're calling both of us Chripper? You really need help. This is the football section. The paranoid section is in your noggin.
  11. So, every single newbie who engages with me, will be labelled chripper? That'll be fun. Are you going to stop harassing people? But yeah, Arsenal are a massive club. Way bigger than Chelsea and Manchester City. You cant buy history.
  12. Farense are awful. They had less possession when Vitoria went down to 10 men than when Vitoria had 11 men. The perpetual lack of possession, it makes Ryan Gaiud's goals and assists even more amazing.
  13. He's had one assist. Two assists ruled out because of VAR. If he's not in the squad it'll be strange. His numbers are better than anyone we have, especially since he's in a better league than most of our players.
  14. Regardless, Southgate would rather have his main squad members available, for training, tactics, etc, leading up to the Euros.
  15. 11 minutes in. One assist.
  16. Xhaka pulls out during the warmups, so Tierney starts. Left back in a back four. Ryan Guald starts: https://www.stream2watch.la/video/sc-farense-vs-guimaraes-06-May-2021 (CH03)
  17. If Arsenal and Manchester United qualify for the Europa League final Gareth Southgate could be without 11 players for the pre Euro 2020 friendlies.

  19. I know. But football's a funny old game. We battered then at Wembley in 99 and barring Seaman would've gotten a draw in 96. I've only seen bits and pieces of their previous few matches so I'm not an expert on them. I'll I'll probably take in their pre Euro 2020 friendlies. Oh. There's no doubt that the coaching as well as the sports science and diets have improved players, generally. But if you were to pick individual combined England teams from 90, 96 and 98, very few of the current England players would get into it. Agreed, but as food as Shaw and (name aly of their right backs) I think I'd rather choose Neville and Pierce, for their absolute determination and mentality. I don't think technically, Scotland have advanced. Collins, McAllister, Lambert were European stars. Maybe squad wise we're better, but first XI? No. Probably only Robertson and Tierney would get into the 90s first XI.
  20. Better squad? Probably. Better first XI? Definitely not. Those 90s teams would thrash your current team. One of those teams almost won the world cup, one almost won Euro 96. This current team might not even make it out of the first group. Croatia are better than England and we've never lost to Croatia. So, I'm banking of Croatia and Scotland to get through.* *Best case scenario.
  21. Imagine the scenario: Billy Gilmour ends the season with an FA Cup and European Cup winner's medal and he still misses out on a place in the Scotland Euro 2020 squad. His place is taken by... well... does it matter? No matter who I name, they won't have the medal haul that Billy Gilmour (potentially) has this season.
  22. Hope so. It would be great for a team, any team, to give the Old Firm a scare. True.
  23. On the bech. I suppose it's a step forward. If they won the European Cup and Gilmor was on the bench, I don't think any of us would have many complaints. Tonight's match will be intriguing.
  24. Yeah, I'm sure they were. It would actually be a good thing for either of the Ryans. Daniel Farke is a good manager. I mean, anyone that can get Teemu Pukki to score 60+ goals in three seasons must be a magician.
