  1. I wasn't replying to you. Just replying in general about his move. But I agree. He might learn something from moving to the SPL. Maddison would say that he learned a lot.
  2. No one really dives in the England squad. We should be more concerned with Kane scoring a hat trick than diving The "diving" issue opens up an entire can of word. I have my views on the matter, doubt it's a popular view. Just last week Patrick Bamford was fouled in the box. He didn't go down. The result was no penalty. But if he "dived" it would've been given. He even said to the ref "Do I have to dive to get the penalty?"
  3. Yes, he was. But I was talking about how Roy Keane drove the entire Ireland squad through qualification.
  4. What are you talking about? If you mean that you're trolling. I agree.
  5. I was thinking that, too. We need a win against the Czechs. Having three points after the opening match would be great.
  6. Nope what? If you disagree that Roy Keane got Ireland to the WC2002, almost singlehandedly, then fine. As much as we rated Ferguson, Fletcher, etc. None of them did for us what Roy Keane did for Ireland in that qualification campaign.
  7. David Beckham joined 2nd Division Preston when he was 19. Wonder what became of him. Lewis Fiorini went to the second tier in Holland. Mason Mount went the Dutch route, too.
  8. The better the player is, the bigger the ego. Look at Cristiano "I want to take the 5th and last penalty in the shootout because I want to be in the spotlight" Ronaldo or Lionel "I don't care if Barcelona go bankrupt by paying me close to £1m a week, I'm bigger than them" Messi. It depends on the dynamic. You can get egos that pull their team-mates by the collar and elevate them up, like Roy Keane in the 2002 World Cup. In other cases, egos can clash and it can corrode all around them. In every way, the enemy within is usually what takes down Scotland.
  9. I hope we get some news on Fraser and Adams soon. https://www.premierinjuries.com/injury-table.php It's concerning that they have no "return date". That site is usually a good resource for stuff like that. I may not be Adams's biggest fan, but we need everyone fit. So hopefully his injury has healed and he can play some part in the friendlies, same goes for Fraser Sorry.
  10. It's a double edged sword, the better players, the bigger the ego. In the 90s under Craig Brown we had no superstars* but we had a collective spirit and unity of a club side. I genuinely believe that we might have won Euro 96 if we got through our group. How England beat us, I have no idea. *Goram, Leighton, Hendry, Collins, McAllister and Lambert were all world class, in my opinion.
  11. McTominay off before the penalties? I think Ole was off making coffee when McTominay scored penalties against Israel and Serbia Hope Scott is fine.
  12. Very much so. That's why he's never an anchorman. Dribbling and driving forward is his main attributes. Old school box to box midfield. Couldn't agree more. Cut to a fortnight and he'll be busting a gut for France and might win Euro 2020. lol. Hey now! Don't go nuts!
  13. My MOTM. First half he was ok, second half he's been pinging it, driving forward and been intercepting. Plus the assist. £95m for Pogba and all he's done is swagger around like he's just warming up for Euro 2020. Rashford is definitely struggling with his shoulder injury. Doesn't explain his miss from a few yards out. That's why he isn't a striker.
  14. McTominay took a knock about ten mins ago. Hope it's nothing. The thing with Scott is that he tends to play through the pain. He's too brave for his own good.
  15. Personally, I prefer Souness and Keane over the like of Redknapp, Scholes, Ferdinand, etc. I don't think they go out to shock. I just think they say what everyone else is too scared to say. They were probably like that in the dressing room when they played.
  16. Yeah. Me, too. He's proved a lot of people wrong this season. Bamford is also eligible for Ireland but he has no interest in switching... at present. You never know. Looking at their squad and how relatively inexperienced it is - there are holes in their squad, as potentially explosive they are going forward. I'm confident of getting at least a point. As per usual, the media down south are building them to be a world class team. *knocks of wood*
  17. The Europa League is being aired free on BT Sports and BT Ultimate. Virgin: CH 532 You can also download the BT application and watch it on the home page. Same goes for the European Cup final on Saturday
  18. Scott McTominay hits back at Roy Keane after criticism You have to admire Scott's maturity. I have to disagree with Roy Keane on this one. If Manchester United buy a partner for Maguire, (Lindelof is made of paper) buy an established right winger, as well as a world class striker, they could very well win a major trophy with Fred and McTominay in the midfield.
  19. Yep. There's no right or wrong. Back to Ryan Gauld. Now Benfica are linked to Gauld. https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/football/football-transfer-news/ryan-gauld-benfica-list-targets-24185050
  20. Cant remember which international team did it (might have been Belgium) but I'd make all the teams (u16s, u17s, u19s and u21s play the same system. That means it won't be such a culture shock when youth players do eventually get promoted to higher age groups.
  21. Not sure. It was posted yesterday on "Not the Old Firm" I'm guessing since it says "Back to Scotland" it must be recent. He has a hip injury.
  22. Saw it. The Sun. Denigrating Turnbull, Gilmour and Patterson in the process: "England have nothing to worry about when they meet Scotland at the Euros next month – because no one's even heard of Billy Gilmour, David Turnbull or Nathan Patterson. That's the message from The Sun who appear to have written Steve Clarke 's team talk for him when the two sides meet at Wembley."
  23. I doubt Hungary, Finland and Wales are especially more options than us. Austria (30 players) Belgium (26 players) Croatia (34 players) England (33 players) Finland (31 players) France (26 players) Germany (26 players) Hungary (30 players) Italy (33 players) Netherlands (36 players) North Macedonia (26 players) Poland (26 players) Portugal (26 players) Russia (29 players) Scotland (26 players) Slovakia (24 players) Spain (24 players) Sweden (26 players) Switzerland (29 players) Turkey (30 players) Ukraine (30 players) Wales (28 players)
