  1. In my initial post I said "eligible" and "started": Tait, Aldred, Jack, Hastie, Turbull and Campbell. That's only 6. To be fair, you could say that about all of the teams in the top 6 in England. On an aside, though, look at what the England youth sides have been in the past 5 years of so. They may not be playing their kids, but there's no doubt that their kids are coming through and they're getting better. Just look at the boy that's with Chelsea, they aren't playing him on a regular basis so odds are that he's going to join a top side on the continent. Putting a cap on the amount of foreign players a team can buy is illegal, but the law doesn't say anything about how many a team has to play. That's the loophole. It's like the old European Cup three foreigner rule, when teams has to choose which three foreign players to play. So, under the rule that I'm citing, a team can buy as many foreigners as they like (as long as the have enough homegrown players in their squad) but they can only play a certain amount of them. This would force teams to develop their own players, as the homegrown players would have to come from their academy.
  2. Then I stand corrected. Even if it's 7 it's still a flimsy number. If the SFA really cared they'd introduce a cap on foreigners or a mandate that teams have to have a certain amount of homegrown players (that they've brought through the ranks) in the matchday squad. Where are the SFA? What exactly are they doing? What do they do? On a weekly basis there's a crowd incident at domestic level and they're nowhere to be seen. McLeish had an upsetting incident during a team meeting, leaving the players confused. And yet no statement Do they even exist? I'm starting to wonder.
  3. Agreed. If we could get someone of the calibre of Steve Clark then I'm convinced he'd improve us, but we all know that the chances of the SFA making the next appointment a good one is pretty much non existent. I think we all know the answer to our troubles, and hopefully it'll be displayed when we play Cyprus. If we make a big enough ruckus then there's no way that they'll be able to ignore us, the media certainly won't.
  4. I said eligible. McGregor is retired. Tait's Scottish? I always thought Tait was English for some reason.
  5. I think it's unanimous here that he didn't say anything wrong. This is the social media and snowflake generation, this an era where it's frowned upon to state your opinion and be honest. All the majority of people want is shiny happy people who don't have any opinions of their own if it's can be construed as being at all negative. Unless you love everything you're going to called a hater and be chased by a mob bearing torches and pitchforks.
  6. Absolutely right. If we can get a manager in that can build the team around those four (throwing in Tierney) and properly organize them then we might do fine.
  7. Really? Motherwell: Gillespie, Campbell, Turnbull, Hastie. Rangers: Jack.
  8. I've just watched the coverage. He basically just says that abuse is abuse. The way that the media and snowflakes are twisting it it's like saying that he things sex offenders are the same as people of a different colour. He didn't. There was a black guy on his right, he didn't take umbridge with what Strachan said. This trial by television/media is out of control.
  9. Rangers with only one eligible Scot in their side, Motherwell with four.
  10. It was a stupid thing to say. Sex offenders are just that, offenders. If he meant that people deserve a second chance then I get it, but the way that he said it was ham-fisted to the extreme. Not sure why this has anything to do with him doing the Scotland job, past or future, though.
  11. Well, we barely have any players playing in the EPL. I'm talking about players playing in that league. Yes. Temmu Pukki has scored how many goals in the Championship? 26 goals in 33 matches. In the SPL he scored 7 in 25 and generally looked hopeless. The England Championship is not very good. It's tough to gauge how good a player really is if he's playing in a poor league. Fine, he's pulling trees us this season and generally looking like a superstar and he either gets a move or gets promoted with Villa to the EPL and for the next season he's anonymous. Then what? I say give it a "wait and see", same goes for McBurnie.
  12. Graeme Dorrans was also a superstar for one season in the Championship. It didn't translate to the EPL or international football. Hell, he even struggled in the SPL. if McGinn does it in the EPL against the top 6 teams then we should all take notice, until that time comes, a big who cares?
  13. The French FA established Clairefontaine in 1988. Do you want me to list the truly world class and great players that came out of that place? I hope not as I'd be here all bloody day! When did the SFA decide to get off their ass and establish performance schools? 2015? Yeah, well, too little too late for my liking. And now a few people are noting that our kids are looking comfortable on the ball. This is no coincidence. It should've happened decades ago, and if it had then we wouldn't be in the jam that we're In now. It's not just the SFA to blame, as the Old Firm are to blame, too, as well as all of the other top clubs that are self-serving and selfish.
  14. No difference at all, but that's the point, isn't it? They're living in the dark ages. OK. Those numbers and names literally mean nothing to me.
  15. Very much so. I would suggest the SFA should bring in a limit of foreign players or a homegrown rule, but we all know that the SFA just don't do anything.
  16. Eight Scots started the Hearts Vs Hibs match, which sums things up perfectly. Tierney is starting and it would appear that Oliver Burke has met yet another manager who doesn't think he's very good, as he's on the bench.
  17. Unbelievable. Someone should tell these people that it's 2019. I bet none of those brain-trust members realize that Nacho Novo is not "one of the people". Contrary to Steve Clarke's opinion, you can grow up in the west of Scotland and be completely oblivious to sectarianism, as these things are totally lost on me. Growing up with this kind of crap must seriously warp children.
  18. That's exactly what I said a few weeks ago when he was on BT Sports, covering a Celtic match, and he kept saying "Us" I noted it in this place, that he treats BT sports as Celtic TV, I was then called a Rangers fan. Personally, I don't hate any pundit. They're paid to give their opinion so it's silly for people to get mad at them for doing just that.
  19. If I don't notice it then obviously it doesn't exist.
  20. Not really. I've never been a member of that place. To be honest it's just heard of it. I actually thought you meant L&L. Their treatment of Windows customers has been shocking.
  21. In fairness, I have read from those individuals and I think my signature was pertinent to the circumstances in this place at the time. Just ignoring the dude encouraging me to commit suicide, then, eh? Nothing really to write home about, just short stories, etc. Nothing major, but enough to keep food on the table. When I get my book published I'll be linking it here, though... maybe.
  22. You probably should have. Would've saved time.
