  1. Arrive in Albufiera on Tuesday 29/9. Weather forecast is fantastic
  2. Apple sauce, anyone ? I think someone is telling porkies about this as its probably hogwash. Is anyone in any doubt that Cameron always wanted to get ahead ? I guess some folk will think he's gone down in their estimations.
  3. " ATLANTA (AP) — Police officers who arrived at the wrong metro Atlanta home for a report of suspicious activity shot the man who lives there, killed his dog and "likely" shot a fellow officer " Ah fvck.....seriously funny...........ma sides are sair..........I dont ken whits worse............LOL.........whether it was the wrang hoose........or the dug got zapped.........or in the shootout the polis managed tae shoot each other.............ahhhhhhhhhhhh.......ma sides..................ahve got a picture in ma heid of the poor bstd that wis in his hoose huvn a quiet chug at the porn oan his laptop......nice n quiet in the dark when.................the polis burst in and shoot everybody including his dug and themselves.................ah can hardly type this for tears.......................ah ffs..............
  4. RIP Blakey Loved the "character". Miss the the "innocence" of the 60's & 70's sitcoms that made us all Brit. Scarborough & Great Yarmouth holidays etc in the 60's/70's blended us into Britness. The reality was a con.
  5. Arrived back last night (Wednesday). Chatting to Adam Rooney on the Aer Lingus flt back to ABZ. He was a bit disappointed at not playing against us but looking forward to the Dons Euro draw. Nice fella, easy to chat to like every other Irish person on this trip. Brilliant seeing the Tartan Specials on Saturday. Stayed and did the tourist thing and nearly OD'ed on the Gennius Swords & Malahide were great wee trips and only 3.50 Euros from the city centre. Great boozers, restaurants, people and the Guid Stuff. We started to talk about potentially retiring there until we saw the property prices.....
  6. KFTF: Wao - did Ernie play fitba out there too as well as coaching ? Sister called Nancy Merrick ? LOL Seriously happy flashbacks ! Her pal was Jane-Anne Purdie......Great "Gregorys Girl" type memories up at the High SCool in the summers. Happy Days !
  7. Ah ok. Scotland/Killie fan was chattin away in Molde & Oslo airport then completely coincidentally saw him again and his Stewartonian dad in a Perth club nr MacDairmid Park. Hammy and Naisy etc were certainly blethered about. Great night.
  8. Wanderer - did I meet you in Molde then you & yer da in Perth efter a killie gemme ?
  9. aaid: Aye Sibbalds van fae Lothian Rd. George by name and his faither. FFS we're talking mid-60's intae the 70's ! KFTF - Rose was a legend right enough. Mega coverage at the time. Didn't she have a wee pal that went with her & also played in Italy ? Extremely tenuous connection.....my eldest lad was always kickin a ba' wae Naisy when they were younger. Ma boy played for QoS U14s & U15s and Queens Park at U16s. He got a USA sports scholarship and played his adult fitba in South Carolina & Michigan. He's now a fitba coach wae a Uni in Tennessee.......right now on Eurosport Spain v Costa Rica in the wummins World Cup............Fabbi Sanchez is one of my lads mid-field players. She's on the bench right now and we're both hoping she gets on in the 2nd half. Naw. She's no fae Stewarton but she's the only NAIA player at the world cup and coached by a Stewartonian. Does this count ?
  10. Wanderer: Hammy was defo fae Stewarton, born in Kilwinning. There's a Wiki article on him. As Aaid said he went tae Stewarton High (he was a year above me). I worked in Aberdeen 1977-81 and used to see him quite a bit when he was with the Dons. Like many players of that era he'd train in the morning and was bored in the afternoons. Used to bump into him lunchtimes at the bottom of King St on his wae intae toon after trainin at the Links or Pittodrie. Loved watching him play at left-back in victories versus Rangers Really guid guy. Married, a Stewarton lassie, Joan M., who was also really nice. The swally created havoc. I think being so close to the Dons magical period and not quite getting there was hard for him. Hope he's OK now as I believe he might be back in Stewarton.
  11. Stewarton Annick were pish. I couldnae get intae the team When a' the lads that were guid players got flung oota school at 4th year theym that went tae Killie Academy for Highers were allowed tae play fitba for the school as jersey-fillers or there wis nae team My youngest brother did play though. Embdy else travel on the famous Hamburg trips ? My maw & da' helped Wee Sammy run the very first one. Sammy and the majority of Weegie Immigrants intae the Bonnet Toun were superb for daen community stuff. Anyway, my wee Bro hits a legendary 20 yarder intae the German net and ma parents were at the brattie van shoving bratwursts intae their heids and missed his goal. This is early 70's. He's never let them forget it Naisy wisnae the only Stewartonian tae go professional. Derek Hamilton (David Dale Ave) played for Fergie's Dons (78-83) but only won a Scottish Cup Medal for St Mirren in 87. Hammy got games for the Dons including European games but never was a first team regular. Bad issues wae the swally. The two McCutcheon (Lothian Road) brothers both succeeded. Derek (?) played for the likes of Stranraer. His older brother (name?) got a trail for Wolves and got his leg broken in his first Reserve game. Andy Robinson (OK he was fae Dunlop) signed for Killie as a goalie. Most of them played in Mr Cunninghams school team that were Ayrshire Champions in 1974 (?) I think Sammy Campbell fae Kilmaurs fae that team was also signed as left-back by Killie. All of these guys were 70's, early 80's.
  12. Did David Cameron authorise Carmichael to leak the memo...............................?
  13. Tartan Docs: Can anyone force him to resign over this ? Aye. Tavish Scott Libdem Constituency MSP for Orkney & Liam MacArthur Libden Constituency MSP for Shetland. They are the last two Constituency/FPTP Libdem MSPs left. What do they think their chances of re-election in 2016 will be if Carmichael insists on staying ? Orkney & Shetland Libdem backlash ? You bet !
  14. Flure: on the one hand aye. On the other hand if its in the SNP manifesto saying "we are campaigning for a mandate from Scots electorate as Referendum II" then what's to stop them and other "Yes" parties doing the same. Brit apologists will undoubtedly say we have to play by London permission/rules. Fck them.
  15. Dunno why Referendum II became "referendum Ii" - no edit function available
  16. Some reasons/working assumptions in favour: 1. Save £14 million as cost of a second Referendum. 2. Maintain successful momentum of "Yes" campaign plus SNP at 7/5. 3. No repeat required of perceived early failures of "Yes" campaign management as SNP strategy will be run by the SNP. 4. SNP are now extremely experienced campaigners versus current unionist disarray. SNP are in the "zone" right now. 5. Brit Labour don't pick their leader until Sept (Scottish branch leader to be picked after that ?). 6. Encourages formation of an ILP who would become part of "Yes" alliance a). further marginalising Scottish branch of Brit labour, . depriving UK Scot branch of activists c). Deprive UK Scot branch of Scots trades-union funds. 7. Brit labour forced to campaign AGAIN with tories. Divides the "no" vote. 8. We win.
  17. Chuka and the rest of the Unsullied are clearly great warriors. Keech politicians though.
  18. Lord McConnell of Shiskine-and-all-points-North-of-that-ilk has been getting quite a lot of air-time on scrapping "The Vow/Smith Commission". This is surely evidence that this Labour inspired document was nothing more than a con ? If that is so, does it call into question the Referendum result as it was directly influenced by this shady scam ? It was obvious to Yessers at the time that the The Vow etc etc was extremely questionable in relation to the Unionists had specifically excluded a three-question Referendum. Labour/Tories had categorically insisted 18/9 was a Yes/No issue but nevertheless introduced the third question/devo/Vow only after it looked like Yes would win. Does this go beyond "that's no' fair !!!" ? Scotland can't cash in "The Vow". It was "signed" by three individual Unionist leaders, two of whom no longer have any influence on their respective parties. No party approval, no devo-max etc. Labours McConnell has confirmed this. Why didn't he and his party say so before Thursday 18th Sept ? Does this seriously call into question the Referendum result ? I suspect the answer is "we are where we are" and that Labour were brought to account on 7/5, jog on. So what ? McConnell, Brown, Murphy, and every Brit red-rosette wearing Labour monkey since the 1980's have chosen their place in Scotland's story. Hell mend the selfish bstds. Keir Hardie formed the Independent Labour Party in 1893. Modern Scots "labour"/socialists should re-form it in order to secure our Independence.
  19. The drive behind a potential ILP is that many trades unionists and some labour activists are pro-independence, clearly. Certainly there are tens of thousands of traditional labour voters who appear to have voted for independence on three occasions now; 2011, 2014 & 2015. They know SLAB is firmly Brit in political direction and will continue to remain a Brit branch office. This dichotomy is leading them to merely one conclusion; they must start their own party. Is the word "labour" toxic or worth maintaining within the name of a new political party ? They've got to decide. One thing is for sure for is that many trades unionists, labour activists and "labour" voters don't want to/can't join the SNP. IMHO a Scots ILP would be very, very healthy for Scots democracy and very welcome. A socialist conscience for the SNP ? Sounds kinda familiar......
  20. There are very positive messages emanating from LFI people that Scots trades unionists are actively trying to bring about a pro-indy "labour" party asap in order that they can take part in a Yes-type alliance for Holyrood 2016. Pat Rafferty from Unite is believed to be one of the principal players in this caucus which focuses on Scots trade unionists funding going direct to a real pro-indy Scots "labour" party. Clearly, this would be braw in addition to those real scunnered lab/socialist activists (who are left) putting socialism first, as many Scots would understand it. If this scenario takes place how could a Northern Brit Labour party recover from such damaging loss of revenues and workers ?
  21. Embdy seen/heard fae the Patron Saint of Westminster Expenses in the last 48hrs ? Has he been hooked ? Taxi for Murphy ?
  22. Aye, he used tae stot aboot city centre boozers in Glasgow. It wisnae me. I was too busy selling "Warcry".......
  23. John Curtice www.whatscotlandthinks.org 27/12/14 "....81% of those who voted YES go on to say they will vote SNP in May, compared with 9% of No voters". (1.6M YES @ 81% = 1.3 M + (2M NO @9%) 0.2 M = 1.35M SNP) 3/2/15 ".... 84% of those who voted YES go on to say they will vote SNP in May, compared with 9% of No voters". comRes ITV 31/3/15: "....in this poll 81% of those who voted YES will vote SNP in May, compared with 8% of No voters" Curtice 5/4/15 "......85% YES will vote SNP with 9% of No voters" (1.6M YES @ 85% = 1.36M + 0.2M NO's = 1.56 MILLION SNP). Please note, for comparison, Brit Labour polled 1.28 million (46%) in 1997 in Scotland. Their best Jockoland result in 11 GE's since 1970. So, if 1.5M of us vote SNP what will the % be and how many seats will we win ? Depends on the turnout. WE MUST ENSURE MAXIMUM SNP TURNOUT. NO COMPLACENCY !!!
  24. New weekly website from the Scots Independent (SI) people. www.scotsindependent.scot Emby else (from the early 70's !) remember delivering the SI to branch members in order to raise a few bob for the party ? Fantastic changed days, indeed. "Independence is just around the corner ! "
