  1. Suppose it depends how you view it. I view it like this. Last night was on a plastic pitch in their home ground, we are ranked 40th in world, we have no players in the team that played last night with top class european experience, apart from maybe Forest and mcGregor but even this is at a basic level where the team they play for were beaten by teams from Kazahkstan, we had players earning first caps and no one with vast international experience, its the beginning of the campaign so all is not lost. Saying all that we should have won. Compare that with defeat against Peru and a draw against Iran in world cup in 78 these were teams who had no players playing in any major team in Europe and both ranked way below Scotland. Our team at the time had defeated England at Wembley it was full of European cup winners from Nottingham Forest and Liverpool we had European player of the year in Dalgleish and a Scotland squad made up of players playing at the highest level such as Joe Jordan who was with Man Utd who went on to play for Milan. Also these games were played in a neutral venue and games that could have taken us into the play offs of the world cup. I for one felt distraught at those results but last night i was upset but to be honest i could see it coming.

Instead, nowadays we get skelped in the qualifiers by other also-rans. Quote vanderark14 277 Posted 2 minutes ago I will definitely be on my own but I think this team still has potential, it needs the right management. Some of our players are hitting good club form, like Mckenna, Bates, McTominey, McGinn, Mcgregor, Robertson, Fraser, Forrest, Fletcher and Bain. Burke is still raw, with the right coaching at club level he can still be a player. Christie was missing just when he hit the club form of his life and he impressed playing for Scotland. I think McKenna will soon move to england, maybe O'Donnell too, do killie fans think he could go on to bigger things? Thats the nucleus of a decent starting line up, imagine what it could be if Griffiths screws the nut I am of the thinking that players shouldn't need to be motivated to play, but I do realise some of the pansies we have need motivating, if we can get the right manager to get these players going we could be a decent team. Teams do turn things around with the right coach, just look at Man Utd and Killie Quote PREV 2 NEXT Page 2 of 2 Reply to this topic... 4. Players not playing because they have a sore mouth or worried they might get a burn on plastic aint helping the manager then again if the manager was a Bobby Williamson or Stevie Clark type of guy they probably would have played.
  5. Any decent manager would have played a guy at left back who had been playing in that position for his club. I cannot believe McLeish did not call someone else up after losing his two best players in that position. Even so McGregor would have been better there with McTominey replacing McGregor in midfield, even calling up Halliday who had a great game against Celtic when Rangers won 1 nil or Barry Douglas would have been better than Shinnie. Shinnie last played in that position months ago and only for the odd game. O'Donnell should also have played as Palmer did not even play in friendlies and has no experience with teamates in defence, at least O'Donnell knew setup and how team playes, he linked well with Forrest in previous game why was he dropped?
  6. I might stay in the hotel and watch it on the telly.
  7. Peru and Costa Rica come to mind or not scoring enough against New Zealand.
  8. even getting 2nd place its not going to get us qualified .... we will need more points than other teams in second and still need to get through a qualifier......... I think we are fecked. Sad but true...... if only burke patterson mcarthur mcormack, phillips boyd bardsley and rhodes had been more involved............ though i'm sure the berk fae berkshire will disagree which is pathetic....hehe
  9. I don't care care I'm finished with fitbaw
  10. Yes...yes yes yes yes.......yes...............
  11. original question was THIS Is it justified?...On the front page it said "disgrace"? I was there from from 12.30 till 5.30 I saw the idiots and the guys in the water. Seems to me the story is based on a very very small minority, a minority that should be punished and after this story they will probably be punished for the rest of their life, what they did was indefensible. What about the other 13,000 or so who behaved themselves, they mixed with tourists, laughed with police, were silent when they needed to be, and paid respect. So playing devils advocate, was this story over the top? Could the emphasis been different? Given Scotland were beaten three nil did we really need a negative storyline about a small minority on one of the biggest selling newspapers in Scotland front page. I am not defending the guys who done wrong I am only opening this up for discussion. The mess that was left was bad but not any worse than new year celebrations which I have attended. In my opinion the Scots dids not behave like the english fans at the Euros but the Sunday Mail is now carrying stories that make the Scots out to be a disgrace....so is it justified?
  12. I totally agree and i can use it......yessss........ and guess what I aint pathetic.
  13. can we get back on the subject of the post.....this aaid guy is doing my head in with his inane drivel and idiotic responses with no substance.
  14. There is more to life than knowing how to use a quote function, glad you agreed you are pathetic and with the above quote you have just made me realise you are sad as well.
  15. Once again you look daft....I am not saying any of this ... you are pathetic.
