Reading a lot of reports about Dundee and Hibs becoming feeder clubs for those English giants Burnley & Bournemouth. Not sure how much this benefits them, surely they can get their young players on loan already if they want? Even if they get more access to fringe/young players on loan will it make that much difference? I read that the American in charge of Bournemouth wants to make a "small investment" to guarantee Hibs 3rd place every year. If you were a Billionaire interested in a team like that wouldn't you rather make a significant investment to try and come first? Like I say I'm not really sure what all parties gain from such a deal, would Hibs be limited in getting the best deals for players if Bournemouth have 1st option?

They tried to get folk to buy all 3 group games up front. However if it's not sold out on that basis I can't see demand being that high for a dead rubber just before Xmas at £30-£40 a pop.

Why did I think Aberdeen v St Johnstone after a 36 hour monsoon would be anything other than a dull 0-0!? The fixture should really be outlawed! If we must play 3 centre half's at home against the bottom team then we really need 2 wide players to get forward and take people on. Hayes completely unsuited to wing back these days.

We could go above Hearts tomorrow and they have Rangers & Celtic before the end of the 1st quarter (as do Hibs and St Mirren). Hopefully we can grab 9 or 10 points from our 4 games by then.

Whilst nae amazing I thought Helsinki were sharper and passed it better & quicker when they could be bothered. Our midfield had a lot of huff and puff but not much guile. Could really do with last season's Duk & Clarkson back sooner rather than later.

From the 2 games I've been to v Livi & Hibs we look absolutely horrendous. Not sure about our scouting or data analysis but right now we look like 11 players just thrown on the pitch in the hope they can do something rather than having any particular plan. Given 2 of the next 3 are certain defeats away from home it's a worrying start!

A new CB & 2 wing backs in a back 3, with 2 wingers at wing back, a tad adventurous for an away Euro tie. Thankfully we started to get the new boys into the team in the 2nd half. Pity we weren't able to do that for the Celtic game.

I wasn't at that

I was at possibly the worst ever top flight match today, 22 players spending 90 minutes trying to kill as many seagulls as possible. With our next 4 league games we need signings now rather than last minute at the end of the window. Never seen a less lethargic start to a season.

Think our squad size is down on numbers if anything, bit concerning with 2 games a week until Xmas. Hopefully numbers 5, 6 & 7 are going to be filled by the end of the window with nobody else significant leaving.

Every story linking Aberdeen with a signing bangs on about new UEFA rules on homegrown players, would have thought Celtic & Rangers would have to pay just as much attention to that? Shankland linked to Rangers, would seem a very obvious Scottish transfer!

37 away goals conceded now, as many in our last 4 away as Ross Co have conceded away all season!! Truly staggering how bad our recruitment has been in terms of ability, character, fight and just about anything else (especially in defence). This 3 week mini break from competitive football not helping either.

Ball spent 1/2 an hour in the air in the first half, brutal watch. Goal seemed to spark some life and football into them, hopefully the 2nd half will inspire them for the rest of the season.

Who knows? Lots of guys like Stephen Robinson are so up and down with their level of success - hopefully someone who can be consistent for a few years, someone so good that we end up losing him higher up the food chain in 3 or 4 years. Can't see anyone with any real ambition coming to any of the 40 diddy clubs unfortunately.

We've got the 5 teams below us plus Hearts & Livi at home before the split - if we're nearer the bottom than we are now by then I'll be worried!! Speaking of being near the bottom I see Hearts are as close to bottom as they are to 2nd now, Scottish fitba eh??!

Tactics and performances at Annan, Tannadice, Ibrox, Rugby Park & Tynecastle were all individually close to sacking offences - collectively they must be. That and only having 2 centre half's (one who can't play in 4 games) in a top flight squad!!
