  1. An apartment 3 minutes walk from Metz Central Station for the Byron TA
  2. They go on sale 90 days before (or so I was informed by trainline europe)
  3. There doesn't seem to be much interest on here for the game so I agree I dont think we will fill our allocation. If we do then I would hope they would allocate us additional seating within the ground. On the other hand people will be chasing points to 1) get a ticket for the England game and 2) get a ticket to all other games as our allocation will be small so we could be pleasantly surprised about how much make this trip. Its quite an easy destination to get too, we haven't had an away match for a few months and won't be having one for 2 or so months after....
  4. Look out for Ted Christopher gig if your interested in congregating with a large group of Scotland fans for the day. That will be indoors and will be at a venue where plenty can get in, keep an eye out on the England thread as details will be posted regarding the venue, ticket prices etc. Fans will be spread out based on where their hotels are, where has easy tube access to Wembley etc. We will most likely be allocated pubs which are nearby to the side of the ground we are allocated. Again the SFA will confirm this information nearer the time. Sorry I am just not optimistic for a mass meet for this game based on 1) time of year and 2) Trafalgar Square being off limits for Armistace Day. If something does go ahead outside hopefully there is a good weather for it as no-one is going to hang about in the p*ssing rain or freezing cold all day and if it is inside then it should be a decent afternoon for all going!!
  5. to confirm are you meaning somewhere indoor or outdoor during the day? The weather will most likely be terrible so I can't see masses wanting to meet anywhere outside... or stay for long if somewhere was arranged before diving back into pubs for heat... indoor would be a cracking idea but its finding a place big enough that can hold the kind of numbers you are talking about that will accept us in...
  6. Haha fair point London aint a strong point of mine but my suggestion would be similiar to the above. Leave the bus in an area that isnt too congested (stupid I know as were talking about London!) and buy a day pass for the tubes..
  7. The first sale of tickets is based on our allocation. Then it drops down on points until sold out. If we get 1500 tickets then the first sale will be to 8-10 pointers or 7-10 pointers.. they get a few days, or I have seen up to a week for some cases, to buy their tickets and any left will be sold to 6,5,4 etc. I didnt say we would sell 1500 tickets as I dont think we will either, I simply said they will go on sale to 7 or 8-10 pointers first... or this is my understanding anyway
  8. flavoured beer was all the range in Belgium a few years back and that went down a treat (well actually some flavours were honking!!) so will give the coloured beer a bash too If it is wet and alcoholic there is a fairly good chance we will all drink it
  9. has!!!!???? I don't think it is a requirement that a public meeting place has to be arranged for away fans. Feel free to arrange one yourself and see who turns up though and as for the "MASSES" I am fairly certain those with a ticket will be tucked up in pubs keeping warm until near kick off time, and those without will be staying put to watch it on TV...
  10. Exactly! no chance I am joining in with any outdoor activities planned. I will be staying warm inside the pub until its time to leave to go to the game.
  11. If our original allocation is 1500 that would mean tickets going on sale to 8-10 pointers first (or 7-10 pointers if the allocation is over 1578) as said above I think everyone travelling will be OK for a ticket. I am sure they would open up the section next to away end for additional Scotland fans if we have the numbers. Its a friendly, highly unlikely to be a sell out and no hostility between the 2 sets of fans so would be stupid to cage us in, leave the ground half empty and refuse Scotland fans additional allocation. 10 189 9 261 8 422 7 706 6 863 5 895 4 1046 3 1472 2 2972 1 9609 0 16667
  12. I have never met him personally and due to his self imposed ban on near all media sources there's not much you can go on other than what he did on the pitch and what you read in the papers but the book does tell how he is very laid back and loved his pigeons arguably more than he loved football. Could imagine he is a great guy but trouble seemed to have a had a habit of finding him (as well as the other way around on a few occasions!) and he didn't try very hard to avoid it.
  13. He said no-one wanted to play for Scotland more than him and he wanted to get 100 caps but couldn't give in due to his fight with SFA. After he got jailed they gave him a 12 match ban which (amongst other things) in the end lead to him refusing international selection in 97
  14. Allan Pattullo wrote a book on him called "In Search of Duncan Ferguson" which I thought was a great read. As said above he was an infectious character and loved wherever he went but had plenty demons and unfortunately he seemed to make more front page headlines than back. He could have lead the line for Scotland for many years IMO but all ended on sour terms and he didnt get anywhere near as much caps as he should have.
  15. After yet another failed campaign EVERY player who was involved should be sweating to find out if they are still in Strachans plans. They had their chance and blew it. New faces is what we need!! As for "harmony" we should have 25 players doing anything to outdo each other in training to get in the team and then do anything for each other once on the pitch. I am not saying a full turnaround as that would be extreme but we need to start picking the players who are in form and playing at the highest level - not because Strachan is "familiar" with them and trusts them! The boys he is familiar with and trusted last campaign let him down - he has to come to terms with that and bring in new bodies!!
  16. He is someone who should be in the squad, I have never been able to figure out why Strachan isn't keen on him!? He is the type of player who plays 8/10 every week and didn't look out of place in the EPL last season. A creator of goals who can strike ball from distance as well. He is another player who will be questioning what he has to do to get a call up...
  17. I hope she is gentle with you if it is your first time. And remember its when your ready, not when she is! You have your whole life to lose your virginity.
  18. When appointed Aberdeen manager he says he deserved the Celtic job but ended up at Aberdeen instead and it went downhill from there. He even said after losing to Celtic 9-0 "aye but they only get 3 points." He's nothing short of delusional. He never actually moved from Brighton and instead chose to fly up during the week for training and games. Straight after games on a Saturday he was on the next flight home with Scott Leitch doing a similar bolt to get away from Aberdeen as fast as possible which left Colin Meldrum (GK coach) to take the Sunday recovery sessions!! Heard a few rumours about him as well which sound typical of his attitude... one was he tries to get the Scotland players to call him "gaffer" as well as Strachan!! You really could see him trying to implement that one amongst the camp...
  19. Leeds took him on loan in November until January and have now extended that until the end of the season. I haven't seen much of him at any club he has played for but getting good reviews at Leeds by all accounts. I think we have better players in that position currently but he's only 26 so got plenty time to force himself into our midfield if he really wants to play for Scotland.
  20. I remember them well from the South Stand and glad they are now over in the Upper RDS. Although the 'signing section' is more of a muffled noise as they are so far away from the pitch and everyone else we can barely make out what they are signing. Which is handy as the majority of the time it is utter garbage and has no reflection on current players or opposition. There used to be about 9 of them that would run out the back of the South Stand at HT to share the 1 fag they all chipped in to buy from someone outside the Scotia on the way down King Street - says it all really....
  21. If he goes back to sit on the bench its a sore one for us so hopefully he plays. With Liverpool still being in Europa League, FA Cup & Capital One cup I reckon Ward will get some game time before the season is over. Had we still been in the cups maybe Liverpool would have considered letting him stay with us, for the chance of picking up a medal or 2 for a seasons hard work, and bring in a loanee themselves but with them still chasing silverware on 4 fronts and us only 1 it was a no brainer I guess!!
  22. I am from Aberdeen and near always fly out of ABZ so wouldn't be best placed to help with cheap deals ex. GLA/EDI The Byron TA (all 3 of us on this trip) are staying in the Atlantic Hotel not far from old town square Wednesday to Saturday and have been a few others posting saying they are staying here also. Always welcome to join us for a beer or 12, no-one is alone on away trips
  23. Its about away match points and days off for me Haggis - and I am sure its the same for many a fan not based in the central belt. If you had the chance of a 3 day trip to Prague with your annual leave or a days p!ss up half spent travelling to and from Glasgow I am sure you would pick Prague... Plus next campaign (apart from Wembley of course) the stadiums are small so our allocation will reflect that... going to an away friendly rather than a home one could be the difference between getting and not getting a ticket for these stadiums...
  24. Same here lads! Already taking 3 days off for Prague and can't justify another 2 for a home friendly in a stadium that will only be 1/3 full at most. Of course I could take a half day for the Denmark game to travel down and get back to Aberdeen in the early hours but you really need the day of and the day after the game off work to fully enjoy it and recover
