  1. There’s a follow up message to the one above saying the reason Jota left Celtic is he was found in a clinch with another current player on a treatment table at Lennoxtown. It’s absolute bollocks.
  2. This thing with Jota is bizarre. £25M for a player they've now decided they don't want after 6 weeks. Talk of him being shipped on loan to another Saudi club or even being let go as a free agent!!
  3. The Christmas episode of The Bear in season 2 is one of the most intense, exhausting things I’ve ever watched!!
  4. This is the first season ever that our “big 5” - Rangers, Celtic, Aberdeen, Hearts, Hibs - have all played in Europe in the same season. It’s also the first season we’ve ever still had 5 teams competing by the play off rounds. The most teams we’ve ever had in the group stages is 3 which we’re guaranteed to at least match again this time round so would be good if at least one of Hibs/Hearts can qualify and get that to 4.
  5. As an aside, I saw Matthew Broderick in a play in New York and it was by far the worst acting performance I’ve ever seen. He was that wooden I got skelfs just watching him!
  6. To be fair over the last 12-18 months they've probably shown themselves to be the best team in the world so can't really complain if they go on and win it as I thought they would.
  7. That foul was more to do with the linesman being shit at his job than anything to do with Cantwell. A few minutes later Lammers had the exact same foul in the exact same place and he didn’t give it again. Only put his flag up about 15 seconds later when the ref over ruled him. Also think it’s a bit harsh saying Cantwell doesn’t track back as I’ve seen doing it a few times. He does need to learn when the right time for the flicks is and when to play the simple pass. He’s been easily our best player so far this season though.
  8. First half was pretty poor but we were miles better in the second with Raskin and Cantwell in particular both excellent. Not sure I can see us getting by PSV but I thought that last season. €5M and 1st pot in Europa isn’t the worst consolation.
  9. Slightly off topic but the sheer arrogance of the likes of Carragher, Neville and Redknapp (H) when Kane's move to Bayern was mooted was staggering. They were all 100% convinced he'd be better to stay at Spurs and break Shearer's record than go to Bayern. When it was pointed out that he could actually win trophies at Bayern they were unbelievably dismissive of the Bundesliga citing it as a one team league. First of all, the EPL isn't much more than that these day City winning 5 of the last 6 and looking likely to keep that going for a few years. And secondly, Bayern have won the same amount European Cup/Champion's Leagues as Spurs, Arsenal, Chelsea, Man U and Man City combined!!
  10. That’s the type of signing I’d expect us to make in recent years! Surely if you’re going to sign Fraser you’re as well just giving Forrest a run out every now and then?!
  11. That's Brighton brought in £400M of transfers over the last 3 seasons with a profit of something like £200M. Between players and staff Chelsea have taken 11 people from Brighton in the last 12 months!
  12. Guy I work with is a Brighton fan and reckons he's the real deal. Better than Kante at his peak apparently.
  13. Lammers looked pretty good in preseason and was by far our best player in the games I caught.
  14. Not sure if it's already been mentioned on here but I'm really enjoying The Bear. Premise is a guy who works in a fine dining restaurant has to return to Chicago to run the family sandwich shop after a tragedy. The place is a tip and the staff are dysfunctional and it's about him trying to turn it around. The pace is pretty hectic and the first few episodes have a lot of shouting and swearing (as you'd probably expect from a kitchen) but once it settles down it's really good. Almost finished the first season (8 episodes I think) and the second has just dropped.
  15. I know this probably only really impacts Rangers or Celtic (and mostly Celtic tbh) but 2 wins over Swiss teams this week is positive for the coefficient as Switzerland were creeping up on us points wise after a pretty poor season last from us last year. Turkey and Austria are the other countries gaining on us now, with Turkey certain to overtake us next season I think.
  16. Yeah I'm not saying it happens every time but I think there's way too many people, both Rangers fans and not, already writing them off on the basis of 2 very early games. Henrik Larsson couldn't kick his own arse for the first 6 months and turned out to be one of the best players to play in Scottish football. We looked much better in the first half last night and 3 or 4-0 at halftime wouldn't have flattered us so there is some encouragement there.
