  1. My first ever away game for Scotland was at Ninian Park, Cardiff September 1985. We had just secured a draw with Wales which meant we qualified for the 1986 World Cup. I was 18 years old. My memories were lots of trouble between supporters in the stadium, this was the era of the football casuals, leaving the stadium elated then arriving back at Glasgow Central with the news billboards announcing the death of Jock Stein. I had no idea what happened. So happiness with the result turned to shock at the death of Stein.
  2. Do you honestly believe or expect the Scottish Government to plough millions or billions of pounds into football with all the other social issues Scotland is facing e.g. food banks, homelessness, lack of nurses etc? Scottish football is not a government priority. I'm not sure if Iceland have the same social issues we have. Apologies for dragging politics in to this thread.
  3. Yes, i was there. Got soaked and was freezing by the time i got back to the car. Didn't have too far to travel so was home just in time for the highlights and to purchase a chicken curry. Perfect ending to a good night.
  4. As i posted earlier just home after the game. Started reading this thread and can't believe people are still having a winge, nit picking. Give it a rest and enjoy it.
  5. Said to the Mrs last night that he didn't look to well. Hope if rumour is correct that he is ok.
  6. Watching Bates interview. The boy ain't going to be on university challenge. Didn't know the score?
  7. Too confident how we were playing. Cashed out, what a fud i am, hey ho.
  8. Not aware of his work.........any links i could show the Mrs. No pun intended.
  9. Just before the red card i decided to do a silly bet, 4-0 and 4-1 Scotland at 25/1. Game on.
  10. Time will tell but if we don't win tonight never mind Tuesday it's time for change. Even though i think it's time for change now, not just the manager but the suits as well, but i know that won't happen. Enjoy the game tonight, hopefully.
  11. Because i disagree with who is the manager doesn't mean i won't support the players. I will be at the game on Tuesday giving support and encouragement to the players. I have followed and supported Scotland since 1973 and suffered some awful teams and managers but still go to games . So yes, i believe i am really a supporter. Your last point say's a lot about McLeish.
  12. When McLeish was appointed as manager what was your initial thoughts? Did you honestly believe he was the man for the job, your first choice, or was he the best and only option the SFA had left after the O'Neil shambles? Not having a go but putting supporters in quotation marks looks like you believe the people who didn't or don't want McLeish in the job support the team less than you do, as i said not having a go at you.
