  1. I saw the new royal wean has been named Louis, and I think to myself, what a wonderful world.
  2. I'll be honest, I haven't read or seen the coverage. Seen the headlines, of course, but this is a genuine question. In all of the media coverage, has there been any direct quotes attributable to Gerrard?
  3. 1-1 The Overlords and stringpullers don't want one team to destroy the other. It's not good for business. They're not called "The Old Firm" for nothing.
  4. I'm bored of it already. We should just let the woman and her partner and the wee babbie get on with it. And continue to hound her for her toxic policies.
  5. You could be doing with something to read to pass the time on the flight. http://www.tasunshineappeal.co.uk/2015/11/chancers-dancers-and-romancers-a-tartan-army-tale/
  6. Och, no. It's all Loony Tunes - but I thought that went without saying.
  7. I wish the three of them all the best. What a nice thing to happen.
  8. Some sort of weird font change in the middle of that stuff. Strange.
  9. Doctor - You have a disease, but we can treat it. Patient - What’s the cure? Doctor - It’s an 80s rock band fronted by Robert Smith, but let’s try to stay focused...
  10. A man was taken to hospital after eating daffodil bulbs. Doctors say he’s recovering and he’ll be out in the Spring.
  11. You clearly look at this from a different perspective. That unelected High Priests - of whatever cult - can legislate on Scottish issues (no matter to whatever degree of impact) is an absolute violation of the type of democratic society that I would chose to live in. And that includes a god-appointed monarch.
  12. And that's not going to happen any time soon. Cos we have a Monarch who is head of that sect.
  13. Interconnections. Unelected Lords Bishop are lawmakers in matters governing Scotland.
  14. Aye, I can see that. Now, about the Roman Catholic question that so forms the pillar of our Monarchial overstructure?
  15. Is it really, though? It's not a binary position. Surely we can object to two, more or several "costs to the taxpayer" without any reducing the effective argument of another? The supposed benefits are quite interesting. I don't know what they are. Tourism is often cited, but many more visitors go to the Sun King's former French palaces now, than did when France had a reigning monarchy. So, perhaps visitor numbers wouldn't change much if we became a Republic. Other than when they act like odious cretins, I wish none of them - personally - any ill.
  16. I don't have a dog in the pro/anti Rangers thing, but even I am embarrassed at this statement. I can understand the fans being disappointed that many of them won't get a ticket. I can understand Hibs wanting as many of their supporters - and as few as reasonably possible Rangers fans - in the stadium as they push for second place. But for the club to release an official statement containing barely hidden threats about future retaliatory action is very, very poor. (What they say privately can be their own business, but to come out with it publicly shows a certain lack of savoir faire.) I wonder who it's for, though. With Season Book renewal coming up, is this part of a "No-one likes us, we don't care" marketing strategy to bind the fans together in face of (what they could package as) an anti-Rangers onslaught?
  17. WESTA will be arranging some supporters buses in PERU. We have been advised that travelling away from the stadium after a match, particularly with a capacity crowd, can be a challenge. We are therefore arranging buses from the MIRAFLORES area to the match and return. The buses are open to all fans and we will provide as many (or as few) as required. The driving time from Miraflores to the stadium is approx. 40 minutes, we will ensure a departure time to allow plenty of time for travel and to spend a bit of time in the area of the stadium. Return will be straight after the game. We expect the cost to be in the range £5 - £10, ( we expect the lower end of this but we are just allowing a bit of leeway at the moment). We are collecting reservations ONLY at this time - full info re departure point, time and cost will be circulated to those who have reserved, once confirmed and we know our numbers. WESTA have been doing this for years and all payments will go through our accounts, available for inspection at any club meeting. Any surplus monies will go into our charity pot for later distribution - beneficiaries include the Tartan Army Sunshine Appeal. To reserve seats please email jimbrown.scot@outlook.com stating how many seats, names of all persons reserved for (to avoid duplication) and have PERU in the subject header. Please DO NOT ask to reserve seats by posting here. I have messaged the Admins to lock this thread.
  18. I think that this Manager of the Year malarky is a lot like school league tables. The tables measure only attainment. What they don't take into account is the quality of the input material or indeed the improvement that has been achieved. If we're simply looking at a Manager's attainment, then Rodgers wins. All the time. But if we start to explore a bit further and dwell on quality of material available and level of improvement then it gets a bit more interesting. Steve Clark, for the reasons detailed above. Neil Lennon, Hibs were in the Championship last season. But what about Stewart Petrie? Montrose were in the Play-Offs last year against Brora Rangers just to stay in the SPFL. This season they look like winning the League Two title. Now THAT's some performance.
