  1. Aye, its a real in convenience isnt it . Poor wee travellers having to wear a mask for 10 hours with only a break to eat and drink. And its not like anyone else has had to wear a mask for 10 hours.
  2. I can assure you, there is no one going to enjoy binning the masks more than me when it happens, but I have still been able to enjoy myself wearing one. By the sounds of some folk we have been living in a β€˜stalin β€˜ regime πŸ™„
  3. 😁 what is all this about Nike. I love my Nike running shoes. And anyway, only a real man has a pair of cuban heels in his shoe cupboard , wee boys have trainers 😁
  4. Think I must be living in a different world from some of the folk here. For the vast majority of the last year I have been able to attend pubs, restaurants, cinema, shops, overseas holidays , travel to work every day on public transport, all with the β€˜huge’ inconvenience of wearing a face mask. Really dont know how I have survived the ordeal . Some folk need to take a good look at themselves and stop moaning about their lack of civil liberties for the sake of greetin about the government. Japanese people have been wearing masks for 150 years, and year after year are widely recognised to be the most thoughtful and polite tourists throughout the world. Think that tells you something about the people who have an issue with face masks.
  5. πŸ˜‚ Bojo and Bongbong. Politics of the 21st century.
  6. You are very tidy FB. I would be mortified to show my shoe cupboard.
  7. 🀣 the boards Imelda Marcos. Dandydunn will be pure raging his shoe collection is being upstaged.
  8. πŸ˜‚ I was meaning the mid soles. I didnt know the technical name for that part , I am unfamiliar with tartan army trainer terminology. Or TATT for short 😁
  9. At the risk of going all mumsnet, some of those soles could do with a wee clean FB. Have you tried CIF ? The white stuff not the yellow one. I am surprised Mrs F allows them on her gleaming floors 😁
  10. πŸ˜‚ if she is reading this you should be more concerned about what she is going to do with the flag pole if she catches you in that cape of hers.
  11. My husband swears by sketchers too, though his choice is usually determined by whatever is in the clearance section of TKMaxx.
  12. I couldn’t give a fuck either, but if I had the choice of spending my cash in a chippy that serves everyone, or a chippy that turns away a 79 yr old woman because she has her country’s flag round her shoulder, I know where my money would go. Thankfully Tam’s chippy doesn’t discriminate πŸ˜‰
  13. πŸ˜‚ I could have worded that better. He should be safe as long as he keeps his mask on 😁
  14. I highly recommend the book for a funny, easy read. There are not many β€˜spoilers’ on the TV programme as it is only loosely based on the book.
  15. πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ I bet the person whose jacket your fag burnt is still moaning about flags too.
  16. Yeah I understand the argument but as Pete himself says, some folk will see £1 mio being spent on 50k tickets for a game of football as a complete waste of money, but it gives people pleasure. We could be here till the next WC talking about what is construed as wasted money. And small a thing as the flags are, this will also give people pleasure ( maybe no Pete right enough 😁) . I remember my first few games and the excitement of the atmosphere and the flags , that stays with you. Youngsters who are going to their first game will feel that too. You get that Rampant out and wave it loud and proud 😁
  17. So are flags when someone else is paying for them.
  18. Och lighten up Pete. As someone else said its not like they are going to be waved the entire game,. I imagine it will be a bit tense for synchronised flag waving during the game, but will recommence if we are 3-0 up, plus the kids will like it. Neither can be a bad thing. May as well ban the singing as well , for the folk that dont like tone deaf steamers wailing in their ears. Though that would probably go down quite well on here 😊
  19. Its better than I expected but as with a lot of things its not as good as the book. The humour from the book doesn’t quite translate as well , but I still enjoyed it.
  20. Thanks for clarifying, I was pretty sure you needed masks in pubs but wasnt aware of the rules for clubs. Most definitely because it falls outwith the β€˜need to know β€˜ category for me πŸ™„ There is at least consistency in this, but it becomes farcical, how on earth are you supposed to manage mask wearing in a club ? Half the folk will be too pished to even find the loo , never mind remember to put their mask on to get there. As I said before, I dont find wearing a mask a big problem but personally I think pubs, restaurants and clubs should be exempt and make it a personal choice. With the rules on β€˜table service only β€˜ being abolished in pubs, and folk now standing all over the place, it is hardly worth the effort wearing a mask.
  21. The door cutting idea seemed a bit daft to me too though I admit to knowing fook all about the subject. However this was, I believe, only one of a few options getting presented to a Holyrood committee, it is typical of opposition parties to jump on it. The guy certainly shut up the folk on the comments section, who, like me, clearly know nothing about schools, doors and ventilation. He just batted folk aside with actual information rather than get involved in the usual screaming matches.
  22. Its definitely pragmatic, but if reducing the spread of covid is the aim then it seems a bit contradictory to have no masks in clubs/pubs but have them in restaurants. Surely there is more chance of spreading covid standing right next to people in a pub for hours than walking to the bathroom in a restaurant?
  23. You said that wearing mask does fuck all to stop covid spreading. I disagree. I definitely cannot see the difference between wearing a mask in a pub and in a restaurant and in that respect I agree with you, but I disagree that they dont stop covid spreading.
  24. Are masks not compulsory when going to the toilet in pubs ? I didnt know that. I thought the rules were you still wore a mask when moving around either in pubs or restaurants. It does sound daft when you dont need them in nightclubs though. Be interesting to see the reasons. I know the SG try to distinguish between things that require choice. Ie , folk need to shop for food hence the reason for masks, but going to a pub is a choice so you take your chances sitting in close proximity to strangers . I dont agree with this. There is varying evidence on their effectiveness but there is recognition that they do reduce the spread. I dont like them but its no exactly a big inconvenience to wear them .
