  1. The hypcrisy is ridiculous. These MPs are slagging each other off week in week out but the SNP get bad mouthed for not clapping Dave. There is a big difference between not clapping and being disrespectful in as much booing or something similar which would be completely unacceptable. Aaid is right though, it's not worth getting your knickers in a twist about. The way politics has gone recently I think many people out there may quietly admire this rare act of honesty.
  2. Did i read 6 deaths in there?? I have no intention of clicking on any of those things but seen a mention about 6 deaths ?
  3. Well , I will bow to your knowledge of what music bellends like. I am now a bit too old to be in the know about that. It must be difficult though for the organisers to try and accomodate all tastes, its not just yobs that like acts such as Calvin Harris etc. Whatever your own personal thoughts are on that music he is hugely popular and there will be a lot of people that like him that are not Neds. It would be a shame if it completely deteriorated to a yobfest, Scotland should be able to host a festival that accomodates both popular acts and the lesser known. There is obviously a decent demand. Whatever happened to Rock Ness? My older daughter who is now 25 went to that when she outgrew TITP but I havent heard about it recently.
  4. And that is perfectly understandable. I dont like getting hassled by idiots either. My point was about the music. Maybe i didnt make that clear on my numerous posts and 5000 word essays. TITP 2017 must be starting soon...?⚡️☔️?
  5. ?? You win. I have no energy left . I am away to console myself with my Sydney Devine album.
  6. Welll if it is wrong to think music other than what i like means a festival is shite then i will admit i am wrong. Happy to help.
  7. I repeat. Music snobbery. Music is completely subjective. I think we shall just have to agree to disagree.
  8. Ok let me rephrase it. Many folk on this thread 'are of the opinion' that if its not the type of music /band that they like/liked then the music is inferior and that equals a shite festival. There is a degree of snobbishness to that. Things move on. I am not on here as a champion for TITP , just trying to show an alternative viewpoint. I imagine you are now a few years older now than when you first went to TITP. That is also a cold hard fact. Plenty of other festivals out there happy to accomodate your more mature needs as you yourself have pointed out. Younger folk will will be loving TITP as it is still new to them, though i imagine the weather this year will have dampened more than their spirits. And you should be grateful to TITP for talkng the' bellends' off the streets for a weekend. ?
  9. I was talking about the bouffant hair in work the other day. There is no doubt, whichever of them is chosen will look different in a years time. I reckon the stylists will get a lot more added value by choosing May, Leadsom at least looks like she combs her hair at present. It will be like PM questions meets Gok Wan.
  10. In fairness The Arches wasnt trying to organise 80k people over a 3 day period. Drugs are everywhere these days and anyone thinking they are limited to TITP or The Arches for that matter is deluded. The Arches was merely a scapegoat. Most people posting on here are remembering through nostalgia and rose tinted glasses, we all do, things move on and TITP must still be doing something right if so many folk are still going , particularly after , as another poster mentioned , the shambles of last year. But 2 people dying needs to be a wake up call. Disappointing to read so many folk moaning about Neds on here , like they are shit on their shoes. Neds are a by product of our society and until something fundamental changes in Scotland and in our drinking culture this will always be the same. If many Neds started with a better chance in life they may not end up Neds. And i do not believe for 1 minute that the vast majority of folk at TITP are not decent people. Anyway, better get off ma soap box, I need a drink !
  11. ? I'm in a political party and draw the line at being called a swivel eyed zoomer, stereotype away why don't you. That said , I seen half a dozen Tory party members being interviewed on BBC the other night. It couldnt have been more stage managed if they had burst into a chorus of Jersualem. One young guy, an older lady , a black guy etc , all hand picked to represent a politically correct party. They were near wetting themselves with excitement. People who join political parties generally tend to be passionate about it and in the case of the Conservatives there will be quite a number of far right that will vote for Leadsom. I would not write her off either.
  12. If you dont like the music on offer it changes your whole perception about a festival as at the end of the day that is what you are there for. You start noticing things you wouldnt otherwise notice so its fair enough you thought it was 'horrible' when it wasnt really your thing. I have just never heard anyone who was at TITP in the 'olden days' describe it as such and that is from a fairly wide spectrum of people. Even the weather makes a big difference at a festival , folk can go on about how much fun it is in the rain but unless you are under 21 getting pished out your head and rolling in mud baths aint that amusing. I wouldnt even go to see one of my favourite bands in a stadium anymore, such is my dislike for large gigs, but I realise everyone is different. TITP is probably very much mainly for youngsters these days and by youngsters i mean 25 and under. They all get their tickets for Xmas or birthday. Enjoy Bute, I was actually considering going there myself so if you see an old burd shaking her hips in a mud bath ..... run for the hills !!
  13. ??? You win !! you never fail to amaze me Phart .
  14. Haha at least you must still be cool enough to be seen out in public with her. No mean feat. You posted something on The Stones Roses thread recently about seeing them in Manchester on a Sunday night. I remember cos my daughter was down seeing them that night also and was all excited. I immediately thought 'awe naw, i hope she doesnt meet Dandydunn or my secret life may be exposed. I am supposed to be knittng scarves and darning socks , no on the TAMB '. ?
  15. ? Must have missed that bit. I do agree that many things are spoilt by their success and what starts off as small and intimate can lose its appeal , but for every person who enjoys the intimate festival there will be another who enjoys the magnitude of the current set up. And despite it seeming pricey if you break down the cost per band you could potentially see over the 3 days it is actually quite reasonable . I was at the first TITP in Strathclyde Park when it was attended by 2 men and a dug . I keep threatening to go back one year for one last hurrah, but i am 30yrs too late for Calvin Harris and my husbands back would never cope with me on his shoulders .
  16. Some of these comments reek of complete and utter music snobbery. It would be an extremely boring world if everyone enjoyed the same type of music. Calvin Harris may not be everyones cup of tea but neither is Biffy Clyro or The Who. Its called a musical festival and music comes in various forms. There are still plenty of smaller festivals for those who enjoy a less 'popular' music scene.
  17. My daughter is there and I can assure you she is far from a ned. I texted her to make sure she is ok. Her tent has collapsed with the wind and she and her pal are too hungover to fix it. I reckon thats as wild as it gets for the majority of people there, though I am not naive enough to think there is not an issue with drugs. You will get that anywhere though. It may be the case its become a victim of its own success and is too large to manage effectively . In that is the case they should reduce the number of tickets or increase the price.
  18. First time I seen her was on one of the EU debates. She had a really irritiating condescending smile whenever she talked, even when she was talking about something that was deemed negative. She completley reminded me of Margaret Thatcher , the way Thatcher would put on that smug smile whilst putting the boot in. God help us .

I believe they are chanting 'GTF UK' in Eurochantish.
  20. Farage gone. This sinking ship will soon be pretty much out of rats.
