That's true. I think that one Sunday last year in London there were sell-out games at the Olympic Park (Rugby World Cup), Wembley (NFL) and the Emirates. It's only the former Strathclyde police force that are seemingly unable to multitask when big football games are on.
  2. Do you think bandwidth, processor power and server space is free? Just like the people who think its 'greener' to send an email than a letter who don't think about the energy required to power all the servers.
  3. Its also a lower death rate than the UK, really can't understand why its getting no coverage here.
  4. A bit hypocritical, the license fee is what funds the BBC website.
  5. Whether - no pun intended - it's true or not, it's certainly something that I've heard said before on many occasions.
  6. Well the population is 200 million, people are born and then they die.
  7. It's something of a hypothetical as there aren't really any players that fall into the category. However, given that players generally want to compete at the highest level, I'm sure they would see England as offering that. I'd say the players who were toying with the idea of playing for Team GB at the Olympics would have been tempted had it been possible. Souness said something to the effect of - If I'd been English, I would have had a lot more opportunities to play at the highest level. Players are completely different to fans in their attitude to football, if they weren't they would all only ever play for the team the supported as a kid, or at least they would never play for a rival. We know this isn't the case.
  8. Correct, they originally wanted have poppies embroidered on the shirts as a lot of clubs were doing at the time and then auction them off to PoppyScotland. It may be the same time that JD Sports were doing commemorative replica shirts with poppies on them. First of all they said that for each shirt sold a donation would be made to the British Legion, they were pulled up about that as the appeal in Scotland is through Poppy Scotland. Then they had the "English" poppy on the shirts rather than the Poppy Scotland one. I don't think they sold many, I've never seen one in the flesh. It was Subside Sports and it was two years earlier in 2009. http://www.tartanarmy.net/blog/2009/04/26/scotland-home-shirt-with-british-forces-patch/
  9. I'd be pretty surprised. Remember its a UEFA qualifier and they tend to take a dim view on anything that's remotely political.
  10. A lot would, including a lot of Scots born players.
  11. 29 May is being touted for a game against Italy.
  12. The number of typos and factual errors you see in newspapers these days is unbelievable. I think its a combination of cutting back on sub-editors and articles being published directly online without checking.
  13. He was there as a youth. Played infrequently for the first team and was then transferred to Man City - a very different club then.
  14. A new inclusion to Strachan's squad for the game in Prague. Plays on the left but can cut inside to the middle when required, strikes fear into the opposition. https://t.co/DJO4Cwneiy
  15. Fly out to Switzerland, have a game on the 29th, fly back to Scotland with a game on the 1st, then back over to France for a game on the 3rd, don't see that happening somehow. If there is a third game you'd expect it to be somewhere close to the other games, Austria perhaps.
  16. Ruud Gullit reckons the worst racist abuse he ever got throughout his career was playing at Love Street for Feyenoord in 1983.
  17. Tell that to Roy Castle. Also, assuming you're aware of Bradford City.
  18. He looks a lot lot quicker playing for Bournemouth. I wonder if he has to check himself playing for Scotland as Hutton goes forward so much.
  19. He was indeed but a lot of people just wrote him off because he only played for Bournemouth. In much the same way that Ryan Fraser was being ridiculed by many when he signed for them.
  20. I guess the other side of that coin is - you didn't win though and that's why you are where you are.
  21. Absolutely, I'm a big fan of Ritchie and he's one of the players in the Premiership who has really enhanced his reputation this season. Lets not forget that there were plenty on here slagging him off on here when he was first called up.
