Bingo! Absolutely spot on. I'm 46 ( for the record) been following Scotland through thick and thin home and away since 95 and I'm not sure what game it was or when it happened but the stuffing has been truely knocked out of me! Can't take any more glorious failures my body is just immune to the pain now !

Still can't believe what actually happened yesterday, but should we be that surprised as we do have a history of getting a draw/ defeat from the jaws of success , Belgium in 2000 we're 2-0 up only to draw 2-2 in the final minute, Italy 1-1 only to lose 2-1 with a free kick ( should never had been) in the last minute, up next . Czech Rep 2-1 up only to concede a penalty again in the last minute 2-2, followed by Poland again 2-1 up, we can't defend the free kick 2-2 in the last minute , and finally but probably won't be the last time yesterday 2-1 up , final minute, 2-2. I would say you, something similar happend to me, I was giving strachan and the team dogs abuse and a guy told me to calm down, my argument was ,that I had just forked out £650/£700 on hotels ,flights ,spending money ,time off work ( unpaid) time away from wife / kids to watch that Shyte! I still stand by that, the Slovakia game reminded me of levein in Prague .

But this isn't about Rangers/ Celtic it's about Scottish sport teams/ individuals as a whole , we just can't and don't deliver when it really matters.

Because when they did/ do qualify for Europe they also let you down due to some hertbreak story, weather it's trying to fly the flag for Scotland to get out of the champs league qualifiers or the chancce of a last 16 they will let you down by hook or by crook more often than not because being Scottish = distinctively average, there's always some hard luck story involved why they didn't succeed ....... Trust me!

Football, rugby, Andy Murray, ( and I do genually love the guy) Rangers, Celtic.......... Take yer ####in pick over the years, there's always some kind of gut wrenching heartbreak story, reason why they didn't succeed when push comes to shove, when they really have to deliver. And 9 times out of ten they don't! I'm genually starting think it's in our DNA that we don't know how to deal with pressure , a country full of shite bags in a sporting environment that can't handle the pressure!!! That's why Chris hoy is exception to the rule, and a ####in God , because he did produce when it really mattered, when push came to shove, when it was time to deliver. More often than not......... As it says, I started following Scotland with my brother 20 years ago during the euro 96 campaign thinking we'd be at most major football tournaments every two years. How wrong was I; we have only managed two. And after a conveyer belt of distinctively average managers and a mountain of well below average players I'm now scunnered. We play teams in every campaign like Georgia, Macedonia,Lithuania, Latvia, and the like( you know the kind of teams) yet we don't have a blue print on how we should beat these teams in their own back yard. Unfortunately the World Cup campaign will be no different( trust me) we will struggle in Lithuania and Slovenia, where Slovakia and England will win comfortably. So how can we expect to have a chance of qualifying when we will struggle to beat teams that are suppose to be lesser than us. We might get close but inevitably there will be no cigar!! What is the point? Hope? That's the cards we've been dealt? All the old clichés I'm just totally scunnered and can't be arsed any more ! I've spent a small fortune following Scotland to get very little back in return, with the only guarantee of no change in the outcome........... Heartbreak!

As it says......... We are nothing more than distinctively average, we will not beat Germany , no fecking chance trust me. We might get a draw against Poland , we don't know how to break down teams like Georgia even after years of playing teams like them, we never learn. As for Steven fletcher, the guy is shyte but it wasn't that long ago half this tamb were screamin at Craig Levein to play him just because somebody was prepared to pay £15 million, every team he plays for is always in a relegation battle and his record of scoring goals is ok but that's because he used to take most pens, the guy is a donkey! Nuff said.

Surely the greatest player never to get a cap is John mcgovern ( nottm forest) captain of a winning European cup team, twice! A decking disgrace!,, don't care how good the competition was back then...........or is that a totally different topic altogether!
