  1. I agree with you to an extent. Fletcher still has something to offer. He is the best passer of the ball we have. But you're wrong about not being blessed with a lot of good players. We have: Brown Morrison Mulgrew McArthur (totally disagree with you about him btw) Adam then we have Kevin MacDonald and Liam Bridcutt and Tom Cairney. IMO all three of them have the potential to be top players.
  2. David Forde Shay Given Keiren Westwood Darren Randolph Rob Elliot Richard Keogh Marc Wilson Seamus Coleman John O’Shea Alex Pearce Brian Lenihan Stephen Kelly Paul McShane Damien Delaney Shane Duffy James McCarthy Jeff Hendrick Ciaran Clark Stephen Ward Glenn Whelan Darron Gibson Paul Green Aiden McGeady Anthony Pilkington James McClean Robbie Brady Stephen Quinn David Meyler Robbie Keane Shane Long Daryl Murphy Jon Walters Kevin Doyle Anthony Stokes Simon Cox Conor Sammon
  3. Hard to compare. But consider this, 5 Irish players are at Hull - currently a mid-table EPL team - but not one of them is a regular starter. Basically, apart from the 4 I mentioned (and John O'Shea who gets his game even if his team concedes 8) the Irish team seems to be made up of EPL squad players. That's it in a nutshell.
  4. decent-ish players The list of on-form EPL players is about 4 Marc Wilson (Stoke City), Seamus Coleman (Everton), James McCarthy (Everton), Glenn Whelan (Stoke City), I think, on paper at least, we have a slightly stronger squad
  5. I disagree, he's definitely good enough for the EPL. However, his big problem is his lack of goals. He's probably a better footballer than Puncheon, who's keeping him out the team, but Puncheon has more of a goal threat. He's a similar player to Shaun Maloney, who's keeping him out of the Scotland team, but Shaun Maloney has more of a goal threat.

    Robertson

I didn't see the game, and you're right, even if Robertson didn't have a good game he wasn't at fault for either of the goals and his team got a point.

    Robertson

According to whoscored.com Robertson had a torrid time against Alexis Sanchez (who got a goal, an assist, and MOTM) on Saturday. On the back of that Wenger wants to buy Robertson for 10 million? I think Robertson needs a few more games against quality players like Sanchez before he's ready for a step-up.
  8. Didn't even know we had an U18 team. scottishfa website is predictably useless and lists only U16, U17, U19, U21 teams Is Scott Gemmil the manager?
  9. Some really harsh comments on Fletcher. For starters, he might have 17 caps, but how many times has he started for Scotland? Go have a look: http://www.espnfc.com/player/42189/steven-fletcher?season=2014 It seems he's played 90 minutes just twice for Scotland. Fletcher needs to be given a proper chance
  10. I don't think so. Look at the first frame of this video.
  11. This is the moment the linesman put his flag up. btw Adam was onside when he received the ball.
  12. It's a foul if a player tackles an opponent in a manner considered by the referee to be careless, reckless or using excessive force. IMO it's a foul and a booking for unsporting behaviour.
  13. Yellow card IMO. Although it's really not far off a red card.
  14. Here's the Greer challenge on Lewandowski in pictures
  15. One thing about Ireland, they have a difficult finish. Just for fun, if we assume everyone beats Georgia and Gibraltar home and away, and we assume everyone wins their home games, going into the last two games the table would look like this Ireland 19 Scotland 16 Poland 16 Germany 16 Scotland will have to get a result off Poland at home and Gibraltar away. Ireland will play Germany at home followed by Poland away. Thursday, Oct 8 2015 Scotland vs Poland Ireland vs Germany Sunday, Oct 11 2015 Germany vs Georgia Poland vs Ireland Gibraltar vs Scotland
  16. Bad news about Hanley, although he seemed to be limping a little toward the end of the game. For me, Berra would be the obvious replacement. Although if Berra never made the bench on Saturday maybe it will be Greer.
  17. Just had a quick look at the Polish team. Key players for them are Wojciech Szczesny - keeper Lukasz Piszczek - right back Kamil Glik - centre half Grzegorz Krychowiak - defensive midfield Robert Lewandowski - forward
  18. Where you getting that from? "On form, Berra deserves a chance, McArthur deserves a chance"
  19. Lithuania beating Finland. So, bizarrely, we'll win the group if the scores stay like this.
  20. Poland parked the bus and counter attacked at pace. They were also very aggressive - the referee let them away with some heavy tackles. Lewandowski looked good. But they can't play like that against Scotland on Tuesday. On Tuesday they will have to attack.
  21. On form, Berra deserves a chance, Morrison should be a certain starter, McArthur deserves a chance, Dorrans should probably start, and Gordon deserves a chance. On top of that, it would be interesting to see what Bryson, and Gauld, and Martin, and May can do. But, I agree with you, I think this is the team WGS will pick. Looking at the players who will be on the bench, I wonder when we last had such good options to change a game with subs.
  22. I honestly don't think they'll win either game comfortably as they have a habit of only doing enough in games they don't need to win. I still think they'll get 6 points though.
  23. It's a bit mental that the thread devoted to the u19s team is called Jack Harper and he's no even getting a game
  24. To answer myself, the Dundee United players are too old! Blair Spittal is 18, but is still 12 days too old for an under-19s tournament! From the 5 United players that have made appearances this season, only Euan Sparks is elligible. btw next game is today http://www.uefa.com/under19/season=2015/matches/live/day=3/session=1/match=2013565/index.html
  25. I think we want a close game on Saturday don't we? We want Poland to throw everything they've got against Germany. A 2-1 Germany win with a last minute winner.
