  1. There’s an independence majority of 72-57. The idea that a bigger majority would influence tory party thinking is a real denial of reality. The whole Alba thing is basically a group of dinosaurs who put other things above independence - that’s why they won’t vote for the greens. Either they’re anti trans, anti woke, just don’t like Patrick Harvie, or they’re just plain anti green. So they jumped onto AS’s ego trip to try and hide their own prejudice and to make sure they could continue to pretend they didn’t put anything else above Indy. If independence was your priority, why didn’t you vote for the Greens on the list?
  2. There’s your problem right there. Independence isn’t your priority, because the other green policies put you off. If it was truly about Indy, you wouldn’t care about their other policies. Alba is starting to look like a home for right wing ethnic nationalists.
  3. Greens missed out on a second Glasgow seat by 0.3%. Alba may have cost them the seat.
  4. If anyone thinks Salmond is hanging around to lead Alba when he hasn’t got a seat in Parliament, I’ve got a bridge I can sell you.
  5. Anyone who views Alba as anything other than Salmonds ego trip has been smoking salvia.
  6. Although the Indian variant is something that needs to be carefully investigated, first impressions are that the vaccine is effective against it

Don’t know about that. I think there’s a lot of places open tbh, and a lot of it depends on how he wants to play. It looks like a squad that’s picked to move the books around a lot, all of the forwards are mobile and it seems mobility has counted in close calls for selection. They’ll kick from 9,10,12,15, and given the kicking masterclass from Russell and Hogg at Twickenham and in Paris, Russell is in with a shot to start if he demonstrates consistency in tour matches. Watson has a genuine shot at open side and the LH prop slot is anyone’s. Gatland also likes a big winger, and VdM was his only option in that role. Harris has a real chance at outside centre as well given Tandy’s defensive system and the small number of centres taken.

    Most since 89.
  9. Sorry to hear about your Mum. For what it's worth I think the care homes decision was a bad decision taken in good faith. At that stage the level of transmission and methods of transmission weren't understood, and the traditional thinking of trying to keep old folk out of hospital, because that's where they pick up infections that kill them, came to the fore. Wrong decision given what we know now, obviously.
  10. Can we not let this loon shit up yet another thread with his paranoid ramblings please mods?
  11. Oh, and Scott criticising other people for pseudo science is just delightful.

  13. I had my first one yesterday. Probably worth noting you're far more likely to have an anaphylactic reaction to a vaccine than this clotting side effect. When you're setting out to vaccinate billions, very rare side effects will crop up. Monitor and take a balanced, risk based approach, which is what the EMA and MHRA seem to have done. Let's be absolutely honest here, Under30s being vaccinated is substantially for public health purposes, to prevent spread and outbreaks to protect the wider population.
  14. Even if there is, let’s get this into context. If we gave AZ to everyone in Scotland there would only be two or three cases on the numbers the MHRA has seen so far in the UK. The contraceptive pill has a rate many times that.
  15. Ive had problems in the past but I seem to be ok now. I don’t think there was one thing in particular that fixed it, but there is a whole list of things that stop me sleeping well, any of them will cause me to have a disturbed night. Booze - I never sleep well with it. Dehydration - you can be dehydrated without feeling the effect of it. Making sure I get several pints of water through the day on top of the tea I drink really helps me sleep properly Mental Health - had problems with depression and anxiety over many years, getting on top of this helps. Blue light - laptops, iPads and phones have more blue light in their normal displays, as it makes them seem brighter to us. There’s sound scientific research that shows too much blue light triggers physical changes making it more difficult to sleep. Some devices have night settings that change this, better just not to use them in the hour or two before bed. Routine - regular time to go to bed and not lying in bed in the morning, even (or particularly) if you haven’t slept well. Having a book on the go that isn’t too much of a heavy read helps me Making the bed and changing the sheets every week helps. Some people find ironing the pillow cases helps them too. of all of these, it’s the hydration one that I think affects me most. Makes sense as your body lowers temperature slightly when you sleep and hydration is very important for temperature regulation.
  16. And that pathology could be nothing to do with either vaccine.
  17. Not seen any ITP suggested with AZ. Most people won't care either way what the type of clot is, that's the point. I doubt very much anyone would say they don't want to risk CVST, but they're happy with risk of ITP.
  18. Another clotting condition. I've not seen any cases of ITP linked to AZ, have you?
  19. Yes there are. https://www.medpagetoday.com/special-reports/exclusives/91813
  20. That would explain why the US hasn’t approved it yet.
  21. This kind of clotting is hugely under researched. Stats from a couple of years ago suggest anywhere between 2 and 18 per million people each year. 20 people per million under 45 have a stroke every year. The numbers being quoted are frankly not much different from noise on a statistical basis.
