England named him a day earlier so it wasn't quite a straight choice. Seems like a very good player and if his family are Scottish we should go for him.
Maloney isn't a conventional winger and Morrison may not get the holding role with Brown and Fletcher available. Gauld can play any of the three positions behind the striker, who could well be Naismith based on the form of him and the alternatives.
It's far too early to suggest he's failed. He's playing at a higher standard than all but one SPFL team. If he's still a sub at 22 years old fair enough. The Bournemouth fans seem to rate him. I do agree if they get promoted he will have a tough job getting game time at that particular club.
At u21 level, better to play reserves with good potential over 1st team ones from poor teams with limited potential. The latter being how we managed to get humped 6 nil by England.
Craig Wighton and Harper definitely in the mix in 2-3 years time. Looks quite promising with Gauld, Macleod and numerous others competing for midfield slots.
