  1. Six added minutes... Come on Scotland!
  2. Patterson's coming on for Hickey - who looks completely shot. EDIT: Ferguson also replaces McGinn.
  3. Hopefully that's merely cramp or just fatigue. From out perspective, we've got until June before our next match so hopefully he'll be fine for those games.
  4. McLean and Cooper coming on; Christie and Tierney coming off. Patterson is also warning up.
  5. The problem is we don't have a clear alternative to Dykes' style of play. A more nippy attacker could be interesting as Spain throw players forward.
  6. Aye - that change of pace to take the Spanish defender out of the game was exceptional.
  7. McGinn nearly catching Kepa out with that free-kick. Just can't do anything stupid now...
  8. Two Spain subs at half-time; the ref's being changed too!
  9. Half-time. I can see the Spanish changing things up a lot in the second half though.
  10. Christie nearly makes it two. Great performance so far.
  11. YYYYEEEESSSSS!!!! MCTOMINAY AGAIN!!!!
  12. I wonder how many defections to Alba it would take to move that party towards the mainstream...
  13. Result: First round Yousaf 24,336 (48.2%) Forbes 20,559 (40.7%) Regan 5,599 (11.1%) Second round Yousaf 26,032 (51.6%) Forbes 23,890 (47.3%) Non-transferring 572 (1.1%) Turnout: 50,494 (70.0%)
  14. Watching the odds on Smarkets - Forbes has gone from 9.2 decimal odds (on being the next FM) 3.0 in two and a half hours. Yousaf was 1.1 this morning, now 1.32. Don't know if this is indicative of something happening, but worth noting nonetheless.
  15. He does - I wonder if he'll play central midfield for us at some point. A lot of our midfield options are reaching their final few years for us and could be a way to get both Patterson and Hickey in the side. Something like (with the current squad): Gunn Porteous - Hanley - Tierney Patterson - Hickey - McGregor - Robertson Christie - McGinn Adams
  16. I wouldn't be surprised if Norway did drop points against Georgia, especially after the result they had on Saturday. Georgia beat Mongolia 6-1 in a friendly; while that's basically irrelevant due to it being against Mongolia, they'll go into the game with a lot of confidence. They've only lost once since October 2021 - a 3-0 defeat to Morocco just before the World Cup - but only a game against Sweden (which they won 2-0 at home) can be said to be against a side of Norway's level or higher. Morocco incidentally just beat a decently strong Brazil side, so their World Cup performance doesn't seem to be a complete flash in the pan. I think two wins against Cyprus, a win against Georgia at home, draws in both games against Norway and away in Georgia would be the bare minimum required to finish second. Getting a win against Norway at home and away in Georgia would guarantee second, assuming Spain win all their games. Any point against Spain would be a massive bonus. If Norway don't win tomorrow, there'll be huge pressure on them to beat us in June.
  17. I just voted in the election: Forbes Regan Yousaf Can't say I'm expecting anything other than Yousaf becoming leader tomorrow though.
  18. This Northern Ireland squad is significantly weaker than the side he had at their peak under him. They had a relative 'golden era' around 2016, which quickly subsided, with signs of that decline being evident before he left in 2019. They've simply returned to their normal level in my view.
  19. Exactly. Odd individual results happen all the time; take Kazakhstan's 3-2 win over Denmark today (and, stats wise, that was a much more even game than Croatia-Wales). Right now, I think Wales are in a battle for Turkey for second in that group; that point they took from Croatia could be vital to them qualifying. I'd still favour Turkey to come second ahead of Wales though.
  20. I think we play an average of around ten matches per year - even without qualifying for a tournament - so by 33, he could be around 100 caps (assuming he's still playing internationals in four years).
