  1. The sound quality was also on par with using 2 cans with string between them to communicate. They did recognise that during the commentary through, so hopefully it is sorted for tonight. They should maybe also leave a few trays of pies outside the Dick Donald stand, to keep the gulls busy for a little bit.
  2. Time for a quick game of tennis before the match.
  3. It all depends on how you look at it. Our consumption seems pretty high, but I put that down to my wife being at home with the little one a lot of the time and she occasionally works shifts, which means she is at home while I am work. Plus all of the gadgets and gizmos around the house and the washing machine being on almost every day it seems! Hardly an advert for saving the planet. On average per year, we use 5450kWh of electricity and 19557kWh of gas. Government figures show: Average cost, based on average of 3800kWh per year for electricity, by direct debit. North of Scotland: £616 South of Scotland: £556 For 15000kWh of gas: North of Scotland: £719 South of Scotland: £714 With those figures and how much higher our estimated usages are, a combined £1400 isn't a bad deal at all.
  4. As suspected - now announced that it will be streamed inside and outside of the UK.
  5. If you look at the going price for average/reasonably unproven players in England, £14m is probably about right. However, that's more related to the overinflated market down there, than what the players are actually worth. Blame Sky.
  6. They tweeted last night, saying that they would be announcing their RedTV schedule for the match this morning. Nothing yet. I suspect they may be showing it to UK subscribers, but wanted to maximise ticket sales so kept it hush hush. They usually only stream the games outside of the UK.
  7. Just in case anyone is wondering, this is on BT Sport 1. The Europe channel doesn't seem to have started to air yet (just showing a preview on a loop).
  8. Repost from earlier on this thread...If you look on the usual websites - TripAdvisor, booking.com etc., the TA seem to have done a good job at booking out the majority of the reasonably priced hotels. Most of what is left (in/near Faro) seems to be hostels. We're staying not far from the airport, due to only being there a couple of days. Booked it a couple of months back and glad we did. Edit: Go on booking.com Hospedaria Frangaria have 2 rooms left. 1.2 miles from the airport, so short taxi to Faro itself. I should have been a travel agent.
  9. Ahhh, not a good reflection. Hopefully my experience with them will be far better. I think saving £400 is worth the risk. I will just need to keep an eye on my bills and never move! The fact my details are effectively on the same system as before (BG) should also lessen the chances of setup issues. I will report back if they turn out to be the same shambles that you experienced.
  10. Ryanair via Dublin. Would need to be booked as 2 separate flights, but it's coming in at about £179. Arrives Faro at 16:00. A little better, but also less connections to potentially mess up.
  11. If your arrival in Faro is 17:30 and not a typo of 15:30, I would personally find this too close for comfort. One small delay and you could miss the match. The kickoff is 19:45, not 20:45. They are in the same timezone as us. You may see it listed as 20:45, but this is because UEFA list all kickoffs as CET (which neither the UK nor Portugal are within).Have you had a look at flying GLA-DUB-FAO?
  12. I know that most of you on the TAMB are a savvy lot, but I thought I'd briefly share my experience with my gas/electricity (dual fuel) supply, to make sure everyone shops around for the best provider. I live in a 3 bedroom detached house and we are a family of 3. I am currently with British Gas for both gas and electricity. My current tariffs, which were the best available at the time, end next month. The best offer they could come up with was a slight increase, putting my estimated annual combined bill at around £1700. I shopped around online and came across Sainsbury's Energy. For the same 1 year fixed tariff, same est. consumption, monthly direct debit payments etc., they came in at around £1300. Almost £400 of a difference! You know what's crazy about this? Guess who Sainsbury's are in partnership with to supply the energy? Yup, British Gas!!! Gas bills are due to come down around 5% next month, but I can switch to a lower tariff with either BG or Sainsbury's, for no fee, should one become available. The Sainsbury's rep that called me was even able to retrieve all of my details from the BG system. Shop around folks. That goes for everything.
  13. Maybe they have closed that loophole, so only those had registered prior to this sale can buy. You can see why they would do that, not that it helps you much. Try calling them if it still doesn't work. How far are you getting? If I don't log in, it still lets me select seats for each game and add them to my basket.
  14. I cant post screen shots of the stadium plans, but Poland hasn't changed dramatically since the last pic that was posted on here last month. The Germany game saw a but of a surge yesterday. Aside from green sections (limited availability), there are just 4 blue sections (good or very good availability) left in the East, 4 of the smaller South Upper sections and one large/one small in South Lower. Someone might be kind enough to post the screen shots, as it is easier to see from that.
  15. It's not a member's sale. You just need to be registered, or register, as a supporter.
  16. But you got tickets by registering a new account? Shows that this is indeed a public sale by all but name.
  17. No offence mate, but there 4 separate threads on this board, making it clear that any Tom, Dick or Hamish can now buy tickets online. That includes this one. I agree that we need to make sure that new supporters, young or old, can start supporting Scotland. However, with the danger of repeating what has already been said on here, the bigger games attract a bigger demand. It is only right that this demand is initially from the loyal fans. That's how football works. As it turns out, the newbies are getting their chance now, so all's well that ends well.
  18. Agree. And for the record, no SSC member has been able to buy 8 tickets, unless they were buying on behalf of friends or family who are also members.
  19. See my post earlier today on this thread.
  20. Get on the SFA website. They are as good as on public sale. If you have not purchased from them before, it appears that you may be able to register now. Go to the supporters club section, select your tickets then checkout and register.
  21. While this is frustrating for those looking to buy tickets, it is hopefully a sign of a massive surge in sales, causing the matches to sell out in no time at all.
  22. The email from the SFA does not specify that you need to be a member of the SSC for this sale. It only states "As a registered Scotland supporter you now have a unique opportunity to purchase..." I am an SSC member, so I can't verify if the email has been sent to and indeed if the sale is open to non-SSC members. If your friend is registered on heir system, I would urge him/her to check if they can purchase tickets.
