  1. I'd say also that is is common knowledge that this is the weakest Italian side perhaps they have ever had.
  2. If we are talking of Iceland then they were a 'wee side' but are now a very decent side (Georgia are not) plus Netherlands have had a player sent off. Okay Malta are holding Italy but I'd say that has more to do with the fact that this is probably Italy's weakest side ever. EDIT Italy now lead 1-0 and Czech Republic level against Kazhakstan.
  3. You have a weird fixation about me and Griffiths. I will re-iterate again for you that if he is selected to start for us I won't complain as aside from Naismith and Fletcher his form suggests he is the best of the rest. However, I don't think he is up to international standards so hold no hope of him being the answer which does say how weak we are in the striking department at the moment. I would be delighted to be proven wrong though and really hope I am but my only crime is I don't rate him.As for Feruz my gripe with him is a rotten attitude, loyalty issues and have watched him on a number of occasions and still want to know what the fuss is all about.
  4. Whatever Celtic's motives it was a big kick in the nuts to be handled the way they were ie no show of loyalty from him. I mean you just need to look to the life-risking methods some people use to get into the country to know how much it would/should have meant to Feruz but did he show it with loyalty? No. That is why I believe he turned down Scptland call. Loyalty means jack shit to him and then more attitude problems at Blackpool. Now that he is toiling he is in the press back touting for a Scotland call-up - no doubt until his balls grow to the size of his head and turns his back on us again. Sorry he is a wrong 'un.
  5. I would have your opinion but certain things prevent me. He has had plenty of chances other youngsters don't get and abused them. Kicked Celtic in the nuts after they had bent over backwards to stop his family being deported, then the Scotland thing, then loaned to Blackpool and them sending him back to Chelsea after a few days with reports of an attitude problem.
  6. Was on Celtic's books and went to Chelsea. We won't discuss how he done there or the question marks over his loyalties or dedication.
  7. Well put it this way - if you gave me £1000 to bet on a team for automatic qualification and out of Germany and Poland it would always go on Germany. It isn't just that - the other reason German win would be better for us is if they lose then their match against us becomes a must-win match for them and upping their mindset. A win for them and they'd quite possibly be happy to settle for a draw if we are all square going deep into the second half.
  8. Yes but have you asked yourself why Germany always qualify even though the players change and the managers/coaches change? It is the German psyche. It is engrained into everyone of them throughout the generations and that carries them forward. If you will it is a winning mentality in the psyche where failure is not an option.
  9. That is wrong as, as far as qualification records go, Germany aren't just 'any team'. They do not know what not qualifying is about. They'll be in France as sure as eggs are eggs. That leaves another qualifying spot from our group up for grabs and for us to take it we want Poland to slip up against Germany.
  10. Well put it this way Poland aren't going to qualify at the expense of Germany. If Poland qualify by right Germany will. Germany qualifying for majors are as certain as the sun rising in the morning. From here on in if a teeam is to throw away qualification above us it will be Poland not Germany.
  11. Definite best result for us is a Germany win. Lets look at the history of international football - Germany ALWAYS qualify so if they lose/draw V Poland it means they are sure to beat us as they are perrenial qualifiers and so they will amass enough points to qualify. Also should Germany win V Poland their mindset changes somewhat for the match at Hampden. At a push they'd take a draw but anything less than a win V Poland for Germany and they will come at us at Hampden like rabid dogs hungry as the match then becomes a must-win for them. Not the scenario we want for the match.
  12. Hmm...not sure. McArthur is a good team player but does he have broad enough shoulders to carry the team - I don't think so. If he is given the chance I won't complain though.
  13. He is certainly one who could come on our radar in the coming months and be well worth a look at in a friendly.
  14. I'd prefer a German win. If they only draw V Poland they will be far more desperate for the win at Hampden. Plus look at their qualifying record - they ALWAYS qualify but the same cannot be said of Poland. It is the German psyche - they always find a way to qualify. The same can't be said of Poland.
  15. I totally disagree. If we beat Georgia then best result for us is Germany beating Poland. Germany will then roll up to Hampden far more content with life and may see a draw as an acceptable result. A loss for Germany and the match at Hampden for them becomes a must-win. They will come at us like rabid dogs. No thanks.
  16. I am far more concerned about every Scotland fans demi-god Scott Brown. Headless chicken V Gibraltar, a stinker V Ireland and poor start to the season and injury as well.
  17. If Scotland score next Friday - they win. Georgia play a tight, containing game and look to hit on the counter-attack. That gameplan crumbles though if they concede.
  18. No way can I see a replacement called up for Armstrong - a player highly unlikely to feature in either match. If they lose another midfielder then a replacement will be called up ie Brown out then Adam in.
  19. Lets be honest though. He wasn't going to figure in either game.
  20. Of course. This is how I see it. If we lose (perish the thought) then count us out of even the play-offs. A draw and I'd say a play-off spot is still there for the taking but forget automatic qualification. A win and I'd say a play-off is virtually in the bag (at bare minimum) and automatic qualification is a small step closer. As for what scotsgary says - even with a defeat I wouldn't say it puts us back at square one. Square one is where we were under Levein and even a loss in Georgia wouldn't knock us all the way back there.
  21. I am puzzled I really am. I recall Fans posting here calling his move to Chicago Fire terrible for him as it was a sub-standard league. Now that he has moved from there to Hull it seems that isn't popular either.
  22. Forgive me for being sceptical but IF Feruz has asked to be involved to the press it strikes me as a desperate plea to rescue his career which is going down the tubes. He was supposedly up for representing us when it suited him and it would help to elevate his status. His career took off (kind of) and he deserted to Chelsea and thought he was in the big-time and pulled out of a Scotland squad. He then falls on hard times and is back to where he was a few years ago and all of a sudden he is keen to play for us again perhaps hoping a club spots him playing for us and resuscitates his career and then he becomes the big man again and where does that leave us. No thanks. As I say I may be sceptical vut that is how I see it. In any case I never bought into this buzz about how great he was going to be and I did see him playing for us and Chelsea lower levels.
  23. No way will Hutton and Robertson start at full-back. Strachan is very-guarded about this fixture and playing two attacking full-backs is a far from guarded way to go. I can't see Strachan ever going down that route if I am honest.
  24. A few things will be sure for the starting line-up against Georgia. Firstly, we will NOT start with two attacking full-backs which for me means Hutton or Robertson or perhaps both will miss out. I am sure Marshall, Brown, Maloney, Naismith, Anya, R.Martin and Morrison will start. I think the team will be:- David Marshall Craig Forsyth Russell Martin Grant Hanley Steven Whittaker Charlie Mulgrew Scott Brown James Morrison Shaun Maloney Ikechi Anya Steven Naismith
