  1. He replaced a striker so presume they were looking to shore up the defence which was odd as they were standing at 1-1 in a home match.
  2. George Johnston came on as sub for Feyenoord for the last 15 minutes of their 1-1 draw today.
  3. Oh dear. Sassuolo now lead Bologna 4-3 having trailed 3-1.
  4. No I would just say the QPR boss thought he needed a rest and wanted to go with fresh legs. Nothing sinister.
  5. Half an hour gone in the Sheff. United V Fulham match and McBurnie has had two efforts in goal to Serbia's Mitrovic who has no efforts on goal.
  6. Oli McBurnie starts today's match (at Noon) at home to Fulham. Oliver Burke on the bench.
  7. That is what UEFA will allow but only if local law allows it. Going by a report I read earlier this week the Belgrade area of Serbia do not allow fans into football matches at present.
  8. Indeed but it feels good knowing you have back-up players you now feel comfortable with if they are pitched in.
  9. The squad kind of picks itself now for next month. Barring injuries the squad will probably look something like this:- Goalkeepers: David Marshall (Derby Co.) 39 Caps Jon McLaughlin (Rangers) 2 Caps Robby McCrorie (Livingstone) Uncapped Defender: Andrew Considine (Aberdeen) 2 Caps Liam Cooper (Leeds U.) 4 Caps Declan Gallagher (Motherwell) 5 Caps Scott McKenna (Notts. Forest) 14 Caps Scott McTominay (Man. U.) 16 Caps Stephen O'Donnell (Motherwell) 14 Caps Liam Palmer (Sheff. W.) 6 Caps Andrew Robertson (Liverpool) 38 Caps 3 Goals Greg Taylor (Celtic) 4 Caps Kieran Tierney (Arsenal) 13 Caps Midfielders: Stuart Armstrong (Southampton) 21 Caps 2 Goals Ryan Christie (Celtic) 12 Caps 1 Goal John Fleck (Sheff. U.) 4 Caps James Forrest (Celtic) 35 Caps 5 Goals IF FIT Ryan Fraser (Newcastle U.) 14 Caps 2 Goals Ryan Jack (Rangers) 8 Caps John McGinn (Aston Villa) 26 Caps 7 Goals Callum McGregor (Celtic) 24 Caps Kenny McLean (Norwich C.) 14 Caps 1 Goal Forwards: Oliver Burke (Sheff. U.) 12 Caps 1 Goal Lyndon Dykes (QPR) 5 Caps 2 Goals Leigh Griffiths (Celtic) 19 Caps 4 Goals Oli McBurnie (Sheff. U.) 12 Caps Callum Paterson (Sheff. W.) 15 Caps Lawrence Shankland (Dundee U.) 3 Caps 1 Goal Obviously, that is providing they are all fit. I don't think I have missed any likely inclusions out.
  10. Would be good to know how he describes their recent results which have been erratic.
  11. After these last three games you cannot drop O'Donnell for Palmer in my opinion. O'Donnell had a hand in our goals V Slovakia and Czech Republic. If O'Donnell is axed it should be for Tierney to play there. That aside I agree with that side.
  12. If this international break proves anything its that fans should put more faith/trust in our players before shelling out derogatory terms or lambasting them. Before these games we had Gallagher and O'Donnell being lambasted and both have made big contributions to our week. We also had people slating Fraser and then the calling up of Considine at 33 but has been excellent. I'd like to think people may think twice now before slating players who are called up but somehow I doubt it.
  13. Indeed. And maybe this is where we benefit having players based largely in just two countries - Scotland and England. Serbia have players playing in Italy, Spain, France, Germany, England, Poland and Turkey amongst others.
  14. No. He is out of the next game in THIS Nations League campaign - the away match in Slovakia. He is available for the Serbia match.
  15. The team I would start with V Serbia:- ------------------Marshall------------------ ----Gallagher---McTominay--Cooper------- Tierney--------------------------Robertson -----------Jack----------Mcgregor--------- -----------------McGinn------------------- ------------Dykes----------Fraser----------
  16. Have Scotland had a better week in international football? Three matches in that time seeing us seal a play-off spot on pens followed by back-to-back wins with a patched up side helping to cement our place at the top of the group with three clean sheets.
  17. Serbia do not look water tight at the back looking at Turkey match. Opened up by a one two and then failed to clear their lines for Turkey's equaliser. Like I said they ate not unbeatable.
  18. The result was the key thing tonight. And our defence held out and that was with Gallagher, Considine, Taylor and O'Donnell in there. That is a massive plus for me. It means going forwatd we have options there now with Cooper, Gallagher, Considine, McKenna and McTominay all options we can call on now. Also up front Dykes and Fraser looks like a promising partnership. Much to be hopeful about just now.
  19. Got to be delighted with a win considering the way we were pummelled. That was a near full strength Czech side who qualified for the Euros through the groups. We stuck to our guns when under the cosh and big well done to Gallagher and Considine flung in at the deep end in crunch games despite fans not wanting them in the yeam and the excelled. Only downside was Dykes booking ruling him out of Slovakia match bit exciting partnership brewing between Dykes and Fraser.
  20. Must have picked up or carrying a knock as was not used V Slovakia.
  21. Yes very down to Earth - no real heirs and graces. And very informative of questions asked by attending fans. She had a good rapport with Valerie Leon as I recall.
  22. Yes sad news this I heard this three days ago. She attended an event I organised as special guest a couple of years ago - a lovely lady. Also there were other Carry On beauties Liz Fraser and Valerie Leon.
