  7. Been here since Friday now. Tbilisi is quieter than usual due to local holidays according to locals. Sherdeni St seems to be full of shisha bars and dodgy looking clubs, however there are lots of good bars in the surrounding area though that are half the price. (Sherdeni St is still much cheaper than UK prices) The street is still a good place to end up at the end of the night when you've had a few drinks though. The Hanger bar has a lot on for our visit and they were playing the usual TA songs in the bar even though there were only 4 of us in there. I've read on here it was a popular bar in 2007 and they are looking forward to the week ahead.
  8. Doing this on Tue. Just put our names down today. It's 140GEL and includes a pork bbq.
  9. Managed to book a day wine tour for tomorrow. A lot cheaper than some of the prices you get quoted online. About $70 usd each for 3 of us. Includes lunch and all that.
  10. Most people will have there roaming switched on but If you are with 3 there is no 3G coverage.
  11. This bar is near Sherdeni St but half the price! One Georgia beer price is 3.50 gel (hercog) ie about a quid! Good music and good Atmosphere! ?
  12. Our wee group has been having a walkabout today! Weather is warm but not uncomfortable. Had breaky in some wee bar/cafe just off the main touristy bit and it was something like £16 for 5 beers, 5 waters, we all had food and 3 coffees. If you drink in the touristy bits it's about £7-8 for 4 beers. Sat in a German themed bar now and the manger has just put a mini cask of whisky on our table and told us it's free for us! Will probably be bedded by 8 noo!
  13. I was in Istanbul twice earlier this year....don't expect to get anyplace fast by road. It makes London congestion look tame.
  14. They only do Sun and Tue so thinking of doing this on the Tue before game.
  15. They quoted $165 per person. They can ram it for that price.
  16. I'm down in London for work reasons this week. Anyone know any decent pubs that will have the game on. I'm staying in Covent Garden. Cheers!
  17. Is that Mon before or after game?
  18. Is there anyone there early in the week interested in doing a day trip wine tour. I'm emailing a company called Taste Georgia which organise a day trip. Details in the link below! Looking at the Mon or Tue. Prices depend on how many go. http://tastegeorgia.co/package/summer-in-mykonos/
  19. As said above official taxis should only cost 25 lari...ie £7
  20. No worries. We arrive this Friday so would have done this Sunday. We fly out day after game so won't be there on the 6th
  21. Is that this Sunday you are talking about?
  22. The main wine region, Kakheti, is only a short day trip from Tbilisi. I'm planning on visiting one of the many wineries the Mon or Tue, just to get out the city for a bit. Can't beat a bit wine tasting....It always ends up in a mellow haze at some point.
  23. This link should give you the current prices of pretty much everything you will buy on this trip. Current exchange rate is 3.68 lari to the pound http://www.numbeo.com/cost-of-living/city_result.jsp?country=Georgia&city=Tbilisi
  24. We get in about that time. Flight is about half 12 Friday afternoon.
