  1. Lets win the first two games before even thinking about possible playoffs. It is Scotland. And it is Lithuania we are playing too. Two wins and we'll certainly know what we need to do in the final two.
  2. 4 nominations for SNP leader : Drew Hendry, Iain Blackford, Tommy Sheppard, and Joanna Cherry.
  3. A decent result in the grand scheme of things, but of course massively disappointing considering what happened in the last few minutes of the game. Gordon had a surprisingly bad day. He didn't look confident and seemed to be unsure if he should be coming for balls, lack of communication with his defence or lack of trust? Kierney and Robertson were excellent just like the last game too. Well done to Griffiths, always feared he wasn't good enough at the top level and still not sure ; but superb for him to get his first few goals and hopefully a few more in September. Fraser looked very good when coming on. I think Morrison, Anya and unfortunately Snoddgrass should be ditched if they continue to churn out the same in the next few games. No doubt after going 1-0 down, I would take the draw, but to end up drawing like that was pretty gutting. Fair dues to Strachan though. He deserves to see out the campaign. I wanted rid of him after the start we had ; but to dig in for that winner against Slovenia - when we were the better team and it looked like we would end up throwing it away - and whilst there has to be many questions about us failing to grind out wins and results e.g Iceland beat Croatia last night with a 90th minute winner rather than us throwing it away. Strachan will run the course. Coming to the last few games. We certainly could be in among it for the final weeks. Of course, we actually need to win away games and we need to go to Kaunas and put in a strong performance like against Slovenia at Hampden. If we manage to win both games in September - we could be looking at the group being 2-3 pts behind Slovakia/Slovenia with both teams to come. Not going to bother worrying about the worst run-up etc and wait and see if we win these next two games.
  4. Hopefully the Guvnors have a few songs to sing about us tomorrow.
  5. Lots to learn from a disappointing SNP campaign. Don't think you can put it down to one factor and just look at the results across the UK - tons of recounts and some surprising results. A mix of SNP apathy; soft SNP/no voters going elsewhere ; hardcore Unionists backing the best Union candidate ; Corbyn sooking up some of the young/socialist vote. The SNP were lack-luster, I had a bad feeling but didn't want to say too much. Apathy, tons of recycled campaign leaflets almost in a sense that the party were taking the huge majorities for granted. It's hugely disappointing that the SNP seem to have lost some excellent MPs - Mike Weir, Eilidh Whiteford, Eck, Angus Robertson, Calum McCaig. Although I'd hope they would be hoping to work behind the scenes and possibly the likes of the younger ones return to Holyrood. McCaig should be a future leader. Anyone serious about pushing the Indyref2 chat needs to re-asses their life. It's an echo chamber at the moment, and we have to play a bit of a longer game. Brexit may change things; but for now it's most certainly off the table and I think Sturgeon was pretty much admitting this today earlier on. As for May! She is absolutely deluded. This was her election! She went in to this with huge personal ratings, a mostly supportive press, British Brexit bulldog stiff upperlip soundbite bollocks and a 30% lead over the Tories! She ended up losing seats and beating the Labour party by 2%. She believes she can form a govt with support from the DUP - we'll see, but she is weak as we all know from the campaign and there are doubters in the Tory party e.g Soubry was talking about her considering position last night. If her government survives, she'll have to water-down lots of her policy and messages - the tails will be up with the more liberal/centrist Tories that are left and won't have to back every single issue. I don't particularly want another election so soon. Some of those SNP majorities are wafer thin and you'd fear further losses again - so soon after this - but I think we'll end up at somepoint in the next year voting again in a General Election.
  6. Again, Hampden_Loon - many, many people on here owe you an apology. Your concerns were very valid and sadly true! The North East is absolutely embarrassing.
  7. Salmond - what a legend! Even in defeat getting torn in to the Tories.
  8. Imagine the minter if Scotland returns enough Tory MPs to give them their majority!
  9. Is this the teuchters not wanting to vote the same way as the central belters? Angus Robertson is a huge loss.
  10. I think many of us on here owe Hampden_Loon apology. Utterly gutting if the Tories win Moray and Banff.
  11. Angus misses Carnoustie voters. I'd blame it on all those Brechin/Forfar knobbers voting Tory. Let them see how they like a Tory council and MP.
  12. Jamie Ross‏Verified account @JamieRoss7 8m8 minutes ago Pete Wishart's seat, Perth and North Perthshire, is on a "knife edge" according to the Tories.
  13. Angus Robertson and Clegg both look ''very tight'' according to Sky.
  14. Are Labour actually over-performing the exit poll? Agree, as much as I dislike SLAB, I'd love to see Labour second in Scotland over the Tories.
  15. You are lucky. Everyone in America thinks I'm Irish when I open my mild-Dundee accented mouth. Might as well take that nationality
  16. East Renfrewshire was meant to be 10% SNP chance of winning according to the exit poll, so if the SNP are 'looking confident' there then that surely is excellent news! For everyone!
  17. This is going to be shit, isn't it? The SNP are going to lose big beasts like Salmond, Mhairi Black and Robertson And the Tories are going to win a majority!
  18. And we should never have doubted you (if so) Let's see back and see.
  19. Hopefully you win a bit of cash! I'm hoping so likewise - tons of Labour holds put on. Didn't touch Scotland and thank !
  20. Oooh Bitter sweet 34 is pish and a bad night, but Tories failing to get a majority is hilarious.
  21. I've got 73 constituency bets on! Christ, went a bit mad last night just a few £1-2.50 ones. Jumped on Libs (at the time) under 29 seats at 5/6 plus the Tories to win St Ives 11/8 (weeks ago). I doubt anyone is interested so I'll refrain from posting up the 72 odd constituencies but I won about £200 from £50 last time and hoping for the same especially if it's such a shite result with a Tory majority. Plaid under 3.5 at 5/6. Although I'm not sure about that. I think they'll keep their three seats plus possibly win Yns Mon. Haven't really touched Scotland, but Labour in East Lothian at 20/1 (again, weeks ago pre-Corbyn bounce). No idea really about the SNP and how they'll perform. I'm fearing a bad night and a bit of apathy/low turnout and previous SNP voters going elsewhere e.g tartan Tories going there and socialist/Green/Yessers going Labour, but hope I'm proved wrong. As regards the SNP night, I thought last week something like : SNP 50 plus seats - a tremendous night, and just as good as 2015 45-49 - very, very good night. 40-44 - decent enough 29-39 - not great and definitely been squeezed.
  22. Most of those Scotland polls would give the SNP about 45-52 seats. I'd certainly take that! We'll find out tomorrow. Some polls as high as Tory lead at 12% and a few others have it pretty much neck and neck/margin of error between the Tories and Labour (latest Survation was 41/40). Labour minority government propped up by Plaid, Greens, SDLP and the SNP would be utterly glorious, to be honest. And the Mail/Telegraph seethe too! Although that's a pipe dream! If Corbyn pushes the Lab vote up on 2015, he has to stay on! Even if the Tories dont win a majority - that would be a failure - and would be amazing to see them trying to paint up the turd and (expense) of having this election to actually lose seats! Hopefully SNP supporters turn out tomorrow though. I'd love to see all this Tory hype end up with something like 1-2 gains or none at all. Of course that's a dream, but would be magnificent seeing the likes of Murdo Fraser and Ruth Davidson trying to paint up the Tories remaining static.
  23. What a basketcase Britain is. Look at those headlines. Disgraceful. Go on Jezza!
