  1. Fifth set just starting.
  2. A couple of professional performances by Murray in the early rounds and no surprises generally - with all top 10 seeds still in the competition. However, Nadal currently one set all in his second round match and given his recent problems this one could be worth watching...
  3. Two of us staying at Hotel Faro - basically across the road from Eva - and would be interested in a return bus.
  4. I'd like to know how he figures Labour will gain West Aberdeenshire and Kincardine??? There's zero chance of that happening.
  5. In the past, Nadal has come back from injury without much of a dip in form - not this time! Wouldn't be surprised if he withdraws from the Australian Open and if not, hope he's in the same quarter as Andy.
  6. A tremendous confidence boosting result from Murray yesterday at the Abu Dhabi exhibition and should be a good match against Djokovic in the final this afternoon. The tour proper starts in Brisbane, Chennai and Doha over the next couple of days and a bit surprised that Andy is the only top 8 player who hasn't entered any of those tournaments - given his scramble for ranking points a couple of months ago, I thought he would opt to get some early season points on the board... However, he has used the non-ranking Hopman Cup for preparation for the Australian Open before and will do so again - I'm sure he knows best! Anyway, here's to a successful 2015 for Andy!!!
  7. Last season, 2013-14, was the first time this century that the average crowd at Pittodrie was higher than the average for the top flight as a whole. AFC would almost always benefit (slightly) from splitting the gate - most other teams would benefit to a greater extent... although there would be one (or two) obvious exceptions. Splitting the gate would be a great leveller that's bound to create a more competitive league.
  8. I don't think the Lib Dems have a hope of winning Gordon in May. It'll be between Salmond and the Tories. Malcolm Bruce had a huge personal vote and losing this, coupled with a nation wide Lib Dem collapse, makes it impossible for them IMO. Traditionally, this seat was fought between the Tories and Lib Dems, but the boundary changes a few years ago introduced housing estates from northern Aberdeen City into the mix. It's a risk worth taking!
  9. TV drama at its best, with some excellent acting. Also loving the pace of it - don't think it has dragged at all. The hotel with the dud TV and dodgy landlord has to be key... and the mayor... and the journalist... and the English cop.... Actually, I don't have a clue - looking forward to the final episode on Tuesday!!
  10. It'll take Andy a long time to get over that one. In his own words, he's never experienced a defeat like that before and even if he was on top form, Fed would still have won. It truly was a masterclass. I've said it before, but how Federer can maintain that motivation and consistency at this stage in his career is a mystery. There's talk of Murray's tough recent schedule, yet Fed has played more matches this year. Rather than Murray having training blocks in Miami, perhaps he should play more of the smaller tournaments during the first half of next season. At the moment, there's obviously a huge gap between the top three (assuming Nadal's return goes well) and the rest. Before thinking of them, Murray needs to make sure he can match younger and hungrier players like Nishikori, Raonic and Dimitrov. Murray should also give Lendl a call and make him an offer he can't refuse!!!
  11. Nishikori beats substitute Ferrer in 3 sets. Murray has to beat Federer in straight sets to qualify - simples!
  12. No link yet. Although, the debt agreements were reached after the accounting period.
  13. If decline = no debt, no crippling interest repayments, turnover up, wage ratio down and a major trophy in the boardroom, then I'm all for it.
  14. Milne is merely correcting his own wrongs and returning us to a financial position which is similar to when he became Chairman - that's integrity.
  15. Given that Milne guaranteed the bank debt, there's no reason why HBOS would take a hit. Agree about the trust though.
  16. Donalds are defo. taking shares. A £14.49m reduction will almost certainly make us debt free, with no loans from anywhere.
  17. Details are still a bit sketchy, but Willie and Elaine Donald appear to be taking the main hit. Using the previous years figures, the total debt was £15.06m, including bank loans of £10.075m. For £14.49m to be written off (I'm assuming this figure will match the current years debt, although this has still to be confirmed), SMG and AAM will convert their remaining loans to equity and Willie and Elaine Donald will pay off the bulk of the bank debt in exchange for shares. The AFC community trust will also pay off a portion of the bank debt for shares.
  18. Hopefully Stan can put up a decent fight, but at the moment Djokovic looks invincible in the big matches. I looked into buying tickets for the WTF a few months back, but availability was very limited - small pockets up in the gods - and cost a fortune. Think the SFA were contracted to manage the ticketing...
  19. Another easy win for Federer. All 5 singles matches so far have been won by the higher ranked player - hopefully continue tonight with Murray v Raonic!!
  20. They've been charged with assault, so possibly a bit more than just making some noise.
  21. So, the Celtic fans booed Logan for outing a racist.
  22. Murray v Nishikori live on BBC2 at 2.00pm on Sunday.
