  1. Still need Tucker out of there but getting Emery away is icing on the cake and opens the door for some real change - and if it's not too late, then there might be the possibility to steal Harbaugh away from Michigan - though not sure to the extent that this is a done deal and/or whether the McCaskeys would shell out the cash required. Should be a very interesting off season!! TT
  2. Don't get me wrong, McCoist has bought poorly and there is a huge steaming pile of shite at the club, however, they are of a calibre that should be able to walk out of the Championship and into the SPL. The fact that they are not in that position is down to McCoist/McDowell and Durrant. A half way competent manager would have the current staff easily going up - and they certainly wouldn't be in the position that they are in now vis a vis Hearts. TT
  3. As I see it the Patriots will likely get the Colts at Gillette and then Denver, so it won't be easy, but when it comes to meaningful games the Patriots really know how to use homefield advantage - but it's certainly far from a shoo in. I think Green Bay v Seattle will be the likely game to decide the NFC team and that should be a cracker!! TT
  4. Bought an adult season and will try to schedule meetings in London, but worth it if I make a couple of games and I can also sell on any game I can't make it to. Just have to wait until April to plan my Bears trip - Seattle or Green Bay top the list!! TT
  5. Looking forward to Trestman and Tucker being fired tomorrow. May combust in excitement if Emery joins them. TT
  6. What imaginary Rangers fans are these??? As a season ticket holder I sit around people who have been dreading an OF match, people, including myself, who were happy to get knocked out of cups to avoid having to play them. Not met a single actual real life Rangers fan who wants a Celtic game at the moment. Much like the majority of Rangers fans want this, or believe this threads on the TAMB, made up and basically shite. But why let the facts get in the way, I'm sure you have hundreds of Rangers fans you know who are dying for an OF game TT
  7. As I said. Fans of other clubs will find it amusing, fans of the club won't. The point remains, it's a coaching/management issue more than personnel or wage bill that is the issue. If you paid them triple what their getting now they would still be pish as the management of the players is the issue. Player for player the personnel is there to easily challenge and perform at this level. As I said in my original response, anyone that knows anything about football would understand that. The wage issue and general mismanagement of the club are a different, if equally concerning issue (for fans of the club). Again, your welcome TT
  8. I don't know, Hibs are four points behind a rank rotten Rangers team by Christmas, and trailing Hearts by a country mile - I think that pretty much defines my experience of Scottish Football from 1979 to 1986. TT
  9. And anyone who knows anything about football will understand this is a coaching/management issue, so your point doesn't really make any sense? I doubt there is a Rangers fan who doesn't think the wage bill is too high, the boardroom a debacle and the handling of the club a shambles. It's not news to anyone in the support or outwith, so again, not really too sure of your point. Finally, I'm sure it's amusing to fans of other clubs, as it isn't to fans of the club. But again, not really news is it. Sorry for stating the obvious in response to you stating the obvious - assuming you knew it was stating the obvious. If you didn't know you were stating the obvious, then sorry, my bad! TT PS Your welcome
  10. Teams been rotten for three years, but some of the players are actually decent. likelihood is Billy Davis will step in, and I'll not be that surprised to see a significant turnaround with exactly the same personnel. But who knows, maybe the Dandies will get their first win against Rangers at Ibrox since 1923, but I wouldn't be holding my breath TT
  11. I stil think they'll go up this season, albeit almost certainly through the playoffs - fancy a wee wager?? TT
  12. McDowell said himself he was part of every decision McCoist made, so if anything this was entirely predictable. Hate to say it but in the long run this result is probably good for Rangers as it will enforce the immediate recruitment of a manager and ensure that on field changes have to be made - and for most fans, that can't come soon enough! Never like to see us lose, but might just stomach it today TT
  13. So from the experts on here, and Ally Bongo , what are everyone thoughts for the playoffs?? I can't see past the Patriots going all the way to the Superbowl in the AFC, Bronco's look a bit fragile and the Pats will have the bye and home field throughout. NFC looks far tougher to call, but Seattle seem to have hit form just at the right time and beyond the Packers at Lambeau, I'm struggling to see who can stop them. Guess this Sunday will give a clearer picture, but I'll stick with Patriots v Seattle Superbowl and the Pats to edge it in a close low scoring final. TT
  14. Season tickets seemed a really good deal - was checking today and you can get all three games for just over a ton. Cost more than that for one game at Soldier Field last week!! Might be tempted, just have to work out who to cheer for in each game, and also hope the boss lets me schedule a few London meetings those weeks. TT
  15. I watched Downton Abbey for the first time last night - the cost of Christmas Dinner at the parents. Two things struck me, the first that it reinforced the class stereotypes and painted a very warm picture of privilege which plays to the Tory/UKIP picture of England. The second that it had incredibly high production values - which I haven't seen in too many BBC programmes and have never seen in any BBC Scotland production. I could also understand why it's popular as it (appears from watching one episode in the middle of the second series) to be very well written and has a cast of some excellent character actors. Not really my cup of team TT
  16. Scotty, Best wishes for your festive season, I hope it's full of happiness and joy Kenny
  17. Though just realised that was you and not TartanJon, obviously hitting Santa's sherry too early!! TT
  18. It's funny, that's what I always say about you on a TAMB night out TT x
  19. I think people who hold any football player as 'legendary', particularly in the modern game, needs their head looked. McCoist was paid throughout his career to do something not particularly arduous, he continued that into management and TV. Seeing out his contract is logical as it's simply the conditions he signed up to and I don't really blame him for doing so. In terms of the sporting world, it's probably small potatoes - I've just come from Chicago where a lot of people expect the Bears to write off something like 30/40 million in the next month or so on a single players contract, and then probably sign up a replacement for a similar cost! Really laugh do think people need to take a step back from all this and realise football is not run in any sort of rational way when it comes to business models and that everyone in the game is doing it simply to make as much as they possibly can financially. TT
  20. Was in a shop in the States the other day and the two sales assistants were having this self same debate, one thought it was film of the year, the other thought it was trash. Got on the plane home and it was one of the movie options so watched it on the way back. I think it's worth a whirl as there are elements of originality in there and an interesting turn from Tilda Swinton who I'm usually not a huge fan of if I'm being honest. Overall I was a little bit disappointed as I thought long periods of it were quite dull, but I'm not a big fan of long fight scenes and they're probably much worse for watching it on a six inch screen in the seat back in front. On a positive(ish) note, I saw the Imitation Game whichI thought was pretty good, though maybe not quite as good as the hype suggests, but well worth a watch. Also saw the Normal Heart, which I had seen on stage and the film adaptation was pretty decent, with a good lead from Mark Ruffalo and decent enough support from Julia Roberts - though it wasn't anywhere near as good as the stage production! TT
  21. Was flicking through the channels on TV last week and hit David Cameron reeling of a list of weapons and weapon upgrades he was promising and he was falling over his words with excitement listing shite like hunter killer subs and state of the art surface to air missiles. It was truly disgusting to watch, and really made me feel ashamed that my tax money is going to buy tis crap which at some point he is going to feel compelled to use to clear inventory to allow another wad of cash t go to the arms companies. We sit right up there beside the worst of them for throwing bombs and bullets into civilian areas, something we should never forget! TT PS Not in any way condoning the use of barrel bombs in Syria!
