She’s now making comments every week that should be a sackable offence. The fact that she’s not being brought under control just shows that it’s all endorsed by the leadership. A pretty worrying direction from the Tories to see this get continually more extreme. -
I’m sure 9,500 was mentioned by the French FFF. Daily record might have just picked that up and ran with it. I suspect that they have but maybe someone else will know more detail.

As if it’s not bad enough that companies are taking the pish with cost of living, fuel costs, etc. … Went to M&S the other day. Didn’t have my ‘bag for life’ - usually do, but didn’t have on this occasion. So I went looking for a plastic bag at the self-checkout. None. Only paper bags. Wait for it… 40 fucking pence. For a paper bag! Now, I fully support the bag tax initiative by the government. I wouldn’t even criticise the ramping up of that price over recent years as I know personally that it has had the desired impact on my behaviour and 9/10 times I remember my shopping bag. But how the fuck do they justify 40p for a paper bag?? It’s surely just being allowed to blatantly rip folk off.

I’m delighted this is taking a turn for the bizarre. One of my baldy pals was disappointed at not being featured in our AI trip to Germany, so I had to create one for him …

SNP seem to be taking a battering again currently about the Covid response enquiry and deleted WhatsApps. Against the backdrop on what’s going on at WM, you can’t help but feel that it’s just a no win situation. Whatever messages did or didn’t exist is just going to piss folk off and feed a media frenzy. Not everyone will agree, but Sturgeon and her government were largely applauded for the handling of covid. What we’re now seeing is the re-writing of history and the SNP not strong enough to battle against it. -
Gigs 2020
AlfieMoon replied to dandydunn's topic in Anything Goes - Other topics not covered elsewhere
Aye, I hadn’t seen them for a few years. Is normally the Academy so was good to see them in the Barras for a change. Not got anything lined up next but might try for OCS in Dec if any of my mates are going. -
Great efforts Tyder. 👏 I’m glad that my community outreach level 1 IT programme is getting off the ground. How do we get Ramy involved - I’m dying to see what AI makes or what’s in his head! 😁
-
Not sure if the age demographic or the TAMB will be able to cope with this. 😂 I’m borderline myself. AI art courtesy of Bing is the current trending craze. Simply type in a description of roughly what you want it to produce and let’s see the results. https://www.bing.com/images/create

Gigs 2020
AlfieMoon replied to dandydunn's topic in Anything Goes - Other topics not covered elsewhere
First gig in ages last night - Shed Seven at the Barras. Magnificent. Kicked the arse out of it afterwards and didn’t get back to Edinburgh until nearly 6am so might not be allowed out again for a while. 😂 -
Someone who had SSC issued tickets for Euro2020 will be able to tell you whether they were transferable or not. anyone?
-
How much on average would you say you are paying for a twin room?
-
Is there any guide info on campsites? Keen to see some info on proximity to cities, cost, transport links, etc.
-
Don’t underestimate the cost of Germany during a tournament for 10+ days. A lot of folk simply won’t be able to afford to do 3 games.
-
Who has decided on a base in Germany for the Euros? And where? Have you picked a venue city, or an outlying town somewhere? I’ve seen some mention booking in and around Düsseldorf given it is close to a cluster of stadiums. Still a fair distance to Berlin, Munich or Hamburg though! Personally, I’ve not booked anything. You’ve as much chance ending up in a city surrounded by 20,000 English fans.
-
I think people expect tickets to be sold before then. Meaning cut off will be after the Nov fixtures.
-
If there were anyone keeping a keen eye on our euro2020 allocations, it would tell you how many of the 16% went to SSC allocations for Hampden and Wembley. I think both were operating at 25%, so would be stadium capacity * 0.25 and then 16% of that.
-
I think for any successful allocations you get from then UEFA ballot that you get the number of tickets that you requested for the game. Word of warning - I’m not sure if you have SSC points to qualify for tix? - but if you end up with tickets for another game that’s the day of a Scotland game, it will block you from then being able to get Scotland tickets.
-
If they follow the precedent they set for EURO2020, you would be entitled to a ticket for each game. The points tally basically treats each game individually and starts top down as normal.
-
Yep. Pretty certain that it’s being mis-reported by STV and others. As you say - it has limited use unless your starting location is within the region of the host city.

I don’t know the specifics about the structures of Scottish rugby but I know there’s a lot of debate and criticisms. Posh boys sport, private school centric, and so on. One thing to note is that Ireland with a smaller population has 2.5x as many registered players participating in rugby across the country compared to Scotland.
-
You’re kidding yourself with envy if you think we could’ve done any damage. We got trounced by Japan 4 years ago and have lost 2 of the last 4 against Argentina. Being envious of England’s draw just reeks of a lack of acceptance that we’re just not good enough.
-
Surely SA would be favourites to make the final on that side. Hopefully an Ireland v SA final.
-
I’ve got bored of all the moans about the draw. At the end of the day - if you want to be the best, you go and beat the best. Otherwise, what are we complaining about? Annoyed that we’ve been denied an easy route to a QF to fluff up our egos and then get knocked out? Even the commentary toward the end saying some shite about Scotland needing to make a go of the 6nations since the WC was always gonna be difficult. Well, why should we expect to be any better in 6N considering Ireland have just horsed us.
-
Given our line out performance, I’m not sure it’d have made much a difference.
