  1. My thoughts on the Covid passports are that they’re necessary to a point. As much as we can’t be a 2 tier society or force people to have a vaccine, we equally can’t ignore the reality of what is unfolding around us. If vaccine passports help get control of the situation then it’s reasonable as a measure. There should however be a defined end goal to try and make it time-bound for as short a time as possible.
  2. I’m in the same boat with tickets for the 3x Hampden games. An interesting comparison is Wimbledon. They provided a full refund to ticket holders last year, alongside a commitment to allow ticket holders to re-purchase the exact same tickets for this year. Over the past 6-9 months they’ve issued 2-3 surveys to help inform their decision making for what fans priorities are, do they feel safe, how would they travel, do they want to go if it’s reduced capacity, etc. Last month they emailed to say that ticketing this year will be handled as a one-off and their commitment to ticket holders from last year will roll on to be fulfilled in 2022. It’s night and day compared to UEFA! The prospect of having tickets cancelled and also missing out via the SFA allocation wouldn’t half be a kick in the baws! 😂
  3. Yeah, just seems far fetched. Can’t see any way SNP can get enough constituency seats to get close to that and the required few list seats are a total stretch if they get close.
  4. This would be a bit of an oversimplification of the situation. The more active infections in the population, this increases the exposure risk for 20-29’s (and others). This is captured in the modelling on the previous post. The way to reduce the number of infections is via vaccine. It’s similar to any other vaccine programme that individuals have a responsibility to the herd. The fact that under 30’s are likely to be offered an alternative vaccine is hopefully helpful anyway in obtaining the required uptake.
  5. I think that’s getting towards the extreme optimism end of the spectrum.
  6. There’s every likelihood of the Covid numbers going up between now and June. We are doing well with vaccines but it’s a race against time for getting things under control while we are opening things back up gradually.
  7. There’s no way to plan for fans travelling in/out of the country IMO. How can that be in any way feasible when all the noises coming from government are that summer holidays are not happening?
  8. I was more getting at the possibility of them stripping tickets away from ballot ticket holders to give the tickets to FA’s. After sitting with the money in their bank for 2 years that would be a kick in the teeth.
  9. Haha!! I was thinking the same! Difficult one to balance considering vast majority of UEFA tickets are going to be domestic fans anyway and UEFA having been sitting with customers money in their bank for the past 2+ years.
  10. That’s my constituency. Looks like it would need SNP, Green & Tory votes going to Labour for that to occur. There’s a slim chance.
  11. That makes sense. Is there likely to be any risk to any SNP seats in Glasgow?
  12. I’m not quite sure where those figures come from. Without any extensive analysis, the Greens got seat #4 in Glasgow region in 2016 with 9.4% of the vote. #5 & 6 - Labour #7 - Tories So, it would be a Tory seat that they’d be pushing out. Maybe they’ve just named the wrong party for Glasgow in terms of who it damages. I’ve not checked any other regions.
  13. I’m not sure how much of a drop off there will be. Worth noting that even in 30-39 age group there’s already a 23% vaccination rate. I think some of the media fear that you get generations won’t go for it is exaggerated. There’s bound to be some drop off but I think overall there is good appetite for the vaccine.
  14. I think if games are approved for Hampden then UEFA either: 1) Void all tickets already issued and distribute tickets to host FA’s to distribute. 2) Honour a certain percentage of existing tickets already issued. All foreign ticket holders would have their tickets voided. A ballot could take place between the remaining ticket holders. Or a combination of both. Would be good to know what’s happening soon anyway. That’s a fair amount of time that UEFA have been sitting with money in the bank.
  15. Full Alba list I see Tasmina has managed to get yet another political party. Top of the list as well indeed.
  16. I thought Salmond said Alba are standing in all 8 regions? Maybe they’re just happy to get a weaker SNP. I don’t think Labour will reciprocate but it won’t necessarily do the Tories any short-term harm to stand down in seats like that. Could have a serious impact on SNP.
  17. I spotted that yesterday. They are taking the piss with that one aren’t they?! 😂
  18. They have only ever been paying lip service to travel restrictions. They have no intention to do it to any real extent or benefit.
  19. And he was so sought after when leaving Hearts that he ended up at L1 Sunderland then came back to warm the Rangers bench?
  20. Exactly this. I totally understand the emotion and especially built up over a period of time and having hit such a low. The comparison with Scotland is valid. After 22 years did anyone have temptation to go to Hampden or George Square when we qualified?? Evidently not. I know that’s not a direct like for like comparison but it does just sadden me to see what’s happening at Ibrox. I saw a tweet earlier with a guy’s photo of his wee girl saying ‘taking her down soon. Others may judge but I can’t miss this after 10 years’. It’s just selfish. The kids going back to school tomorrow after a shit load of work from teachers, schools and councils and here’s a prime example of the public not doing their bit. You can bet the same folk have been outraged at schools being closed. It’s just pure shit unfortunately.
  21. At the current rate it won’t be met - but the current rate isn’t a constant. So far they’ve had 1 target date for the first phase of vaccines and hit it. They also ramped to approx. 60k a day / 400k a week as they had targeted for capacity. I get that people are anxious for themselves and loved ones and want this to be over ASAP but overall the vaccine programme is not going badly.
  22. 7 day average continues to drop. Hospital numbers continue to drop. ICU numbers continue to drop. All good news! Hopefully vaccine supply pulls through in line with the article mentioned by Phart and allows us to get back to utilising fully capacity of approx. 60k per day.
  23. 7 day average is now the lowest it has been since 6th October.
  24. Daily number is not a true indicator as it doesn’t refer to single day figures. 7 day trend is a more accurate representation as far as I understand.
