  1. I think it’s not bad to be honest. The groups are contained geographically - at least to some extent. It’s not like you’re having to go Munich > Berlin > Stuttgart. There’s a bit of a north / south split of groups but no getting away from that having to be combining with places in the middle/west like Koln, Frankfurt, Düsseldorf.
  2. Some game there!!! 😳 I’d still have Djokovic as favourite from here over 5 sets, even 2 breaks down in the 3rd. Maybe 65/35 - just given everything he had done in the game and the amount of experience - but he does look physically troubled. Alcaraz bound to get tight though.
  3. Yeah it was a fair achievement from her to be fair. I believe that took her up to no.10 in the world now. Watching the final now and it’s s bit edgy at times. Feel like Alcaraz is hanging on a bit so would be really surprised if Novak doesn’t win. Djokovic seems to be pushing the shot clock all the time. Think the umpire is scared to take him on. No lose for Novak - he either gets the advantage of time, or else feeds off the negative energy if he gets a decision or crowd against him.
  4. While I’m being helpful …. 😁 here’s the graphic to the photo you’ve posted….
  5. Must admit - I do like the rugby World Cup tops. They look class without the sponsor and the WC embroidery on but £82 isn’t cheap. I’ll maybe see if they still have my sizes when they go on sale after the tourney. I don’t think I’ve bought a full price Rugby top ever tbh despite having 4 or 5 now from over the years.
  6. Defo been 16% per team for last 2 finals tournaments. So Leipzig, 6,880 would be the lowest.
  7. Only watched a bit of it but Sabalenka looked defeated from the midway point of the final set. I’m definitely Team Jabeur for the final on Sat.
  8. I’m exactly the same mate. I think we’ve been on similar path as I seem to remember both us moaning on other threads - went all through the 00’s and decent number of games thru 2010’s, but now just struggling for points. Went to Vienna and Dublin last year but still stuck having to blag a ticket for Oslo last month. Now Cyprus is uncertain for points. It’s a bit of a pain.
  9. On the plus side, Cyprus home attendances have been so low that everyone should get a ticket and atmosphere should be better in a 80-90% full stadium. Just hope the SFA get a decent allocation though. Should defo be pushing for 2 stands.
  10. I know this is me being a bit of a grumpy bastard as a result of the news, but should the SFA really be leading the email title with selling women’s tickets as opposed to the much more significant news of the venue change?
  11. I’ve not read any of it but was it not supposedly through OnlyFans? If that’s the case then what’s the issue here other than the morals of it?
  12. This thread made me go looking for the whereabouts of Islam Feruz and Karamoko Dembele. The former is already retired, aged 27. The latter is at LIGUE 1 side Brest, not playing a lot of games.
  13. QF line ups looking decent. Alcaraz is definitely evolving quickly but has a tough match next against Rune. I imagine it’ll be Djokovic v Sinner in the bottom half SF. Can’t see past Djokovic for the title but if Alcaraz gets that far it’ll be interesting to see if he copes better than Paris. Women’s draw is fairly open I think. Swiatek is vulnerable. It would be nice to see Jabeur win the title after losing last year if she can make it that far. I reckon Sabalenka is maybe the one though, but I’ve not seen how she’s playing on grass. She is a complete machine physically.
  14. Yeah, Azarenka was nothing but respectful and politely acknowledged Svitolina but didn’t hang around to make an issue given Elina had said she wouldn’t shake hands. Azarenka is decent and I’m sure is on the players Council and well respected on the tour. Poor from the idiots in the crowd.
  15. I’m glad they opted for Bublik-Rublev for CC @vanderark14 . You got an absolutely cracking match there and both are characters, especially Bublik. Swiatek-Bencic going the distance and lots of drama there as well although I missed most of that match. Shame you didn’t get to see Djokovic thru to a finale. A few folk complaining that they shifted CC start time to 1:30pm during Covid to stagger the start time for crowd control, with C1 starting at 1pm. They should really shift it back now and reclaim that 30mins.
  16. She did a few songs online or maybe on Tv around euro2020 games - Scotland top & kilt on - singing Caledonia or FoS, Yes, Sir. , etc. She’s been working on her stuff and touring for the past few years so was a nice wee touch to get singing with Heaton. I watched a bit of the highlights last night and there was another Scottish lassie (Brooke Combe) on main stage with a scotland top on for her set. Edith Bowman was trying to tout her to the SFA in the post-gig interview. 😂
  17. @vanderark14 Have a great day on Sunday btw! 👍 Just checking the results there and expect you’ll get Djokovic v Hurkacz, Swiatek v Bencic and if I was to guess, I think they’ll maybe put Sinner on instead of Rublev (Russian) even though his match is two seeded players going head to head as he’s playing Bublik. Sure to be great whatever the line up is though. Remember your cairy oot and picnic. 😬🍓🎾🍾
  18. Not so sure he’s all that to be honest. Great serve and forehand and obviously fairly athletic. He was playing like a man possessed last night. He’s vulnerable though and Alcaraz is a different level in comparison IMO. I’d have Medvedev ahead of Stef. Ruud is making decent progress despite exiting Wimbledon early. Then you have other guys like Rune showing potential. I think Alcaraz is the one though. He has the potential to win a lot of slams.
  19. I’m pretty sure he’ll keep going. Feels like a big missed opportunity though. Could have been in with a really good shot at making the QF if he’d just closed out that 4th set.
  20. Aye, he totally is. Thought he was alright when he arrived on the scene but he is a prick. Totally gutted after that. Murray’s head dropped after that challenge that he didn’t make in the 4th set. Directing his frustration at his box for not giving him a shout whether to challenge. Maybe easy to point to that but I suppose Murray has plenty of moans like that over the course of the match. Seemed to run out of steam but I wonder if it was more about the difficulty to replicate the adrenaline from last night. He might regret not getting those extra few games last night if they’d kept playing as I felt that Tsitsipas was on the ropes.
  21. I can’t remember picking up in Prague or Dublin - which only tells me that my drinking probably got worse as I got older - probably to cope with the football on offer. 🤣
  22. Murray will meet Tsitsipas in R2. I’d have fancied him against Thiem more tbh but still a good chance. I’m sure there was a bit of niggle before when Murray wasn’t happy with Tstitsipas using long toilet breaks to break up the game when they met before. Hopefully the crowd can rattle Stef and get him vulnerable. I’d guess it will be the last match on Centre tomorrow if they get through the backlog okay from yesterday.
