  1. hopefully the next Chief Exec gets control and bins the blazers/hangers on. great to see Regan departing.
  2. aye but you said it did. that was the first ever Scotland v England game not to sell out - thanks SFA for the ridiculous prices for a friendly!
  3. Not trying to prove anything. Just stating facts. By the way, he played in three countries, never played for England ergo never represented them. I'm not trying to fall out here. Just pointing out that he's born to two Scottish parents which makes him Scottish.
  4. Ireland sold out. The friendly didn't.
  5. I also want him nowhere near the Scotland job but owing to all his family being Scottish I'm accepting of the fact that he also is. We've capped plenty players with lesser credentials.
  6. Remember that he SFA get nothing financially for selling away tickets (other than hassle and abuse ) Which is why they'll be keen to promote the value of home matches.
  7. But you're now agreeing that McAllardyce is Scottish
  8. Still 3. Allardyce is Scottish, don't forget.
  9. They aren't looking to mix and match stadia. They want a single designated one for internationals and cup semis and finals. Friendlies can still go to other grounds but as soon as there are >20,000 SSC members then they need to play qualifiers at one of the four biggest stadia if SSC membership guarantees a ticket. And as I said above, Murrayfield is not designed for segregation.
  10. But it's already been accepted as a 2020 venue.
  11. Won't happen. Murrayfield is not designed for 50/50 segregation.
  12. It's a very small percentage.
  13. Written in 2009 and the author makes a few assumptions and guesses but the logic is fairly correct. http://www.tartanarmy.net/blog/2009/07/06/does-the-sfa-subsidise-or-profit-from-the-ssc/ A good read.
  14. That amount is less than 1% of the current membership.
  15. My understanding is that this is not what the SFA are looking at. They want one place lock stock and barrel and do not want a mixture of venues. This leaves them the choice of Hampden, Celtic Park, Ibrox or Murrayfield. It's all or nothing. They are not looking at a mix and match solution. If (and it's currently a big if) more than 20,000 SSC memberships are sold then qualifiers need to be at one of these above grounds as members are guaranteed a ticket. Once away supporters, corporates, press, hangers on are factored in there are probably only three football stadiums and one rugby venue that are suitable. And they have to relocate the 100s of SFA and SPFL staff currently in Hampden. Oh, and a museum. RĀ£gan cannot afford to make an erse of this.
  16. Ian Cathro has won the world cup on football manager which is the equivalent of McLeish's achievements but I don't want him getting the gig.
  17. Hiddink. I wonder why McLeish has been unemployed for so long?
  18. But if we don't ask we don't get.
  19. We were unbeaten in 2017. We still ultimately failed but he did seem to have the players behind him. While we may not be able to entice Bilic, Hiddink, Koeman, Olsen etc if we don't ask we don't get.

  21. Some people feel similar: http://www.edinburghtartanarmy.com/2018/01/22/eta-no-confidence-in-stewart-regan/
  22. You do realise O'Neill is foreign?
  23. Keep in mind that Regan said pre-Netherlands match that Mackay would not be the next Scotland manager. If he changes his tune on that he should quit immediately. Bilic, Koeman or Olsen for me.
  24. I'm not suggesting or recommending it. Just saying I wouldn't put it past Regan.
