I see Ireland are playing Northern Ireland in a closed doors match. I guess if we wanted a run out that was an option. Doesn't pay the same as a game does though.... Whether that be against Qatar or anyone

I get that there would be better teams to play in order to help our ranking, but we'd still need to beat them. Am I right in saying that beating Qatar would be better than losing to Greece?

Fletcher may have the better link up play but he has missed some howlers this campaign. If we hadn't beaten Ireland his bizarre back heel attempt would be unforgivable. He should also have scored at least two more v Gibraltar. With that being the case wouldn't mind griffiths getting a run out. I think we should use the Qatar game to have a look at striking options

My first game as well. I was 15. Tickets for kids were £3. It wasn't till Latvia game at the end of the WCQ'02 that I got hooked. Dread to think how much I've spent over the years. If I can make it to Georgia, that'll be my 100th game.

85% chance Georgia will be a pop 6 team!! We surely must beat them in sept. If playing qatar is worse for our rankings regardless of result, perhaps wgs cld just make one to many subs!

Really, didn't realised it was a clear as that. Wonder if that's the delay. Frantically looking for someone else to play and postpone the qatar game till a later date. On a related note, would it have made much of a difference if Gibraltar had been a FIFA member?

Both games we should have won. Because we're as good as, if not better than them. That's why I'd rather have them as the top seed rather than Spain, Germany etc

I wouldn't say this has been that popular a home kit. Primarily because you can only buy it in jd. Actually annoys me just thinking of that. First diadora one must have been one of the most popular.

Given its only available from one shop I can't see that. Perhaps their biggest selling Scotland away top. More people must have bought the faddy strip. Think I've got two lol

I like the away strip but think it looks better with blue shorts. Wouldn't expect a new away strip until next Feb.

Would love to draw romania from pot 1. A good chance to take points off a top seed and a new place for many to visit for a Scotland game.

Totally agree. I think with an eye already on June's fixture the NI game was a great fixture to arrange. For a game between end of season and Ireland game imo the opposition isn't that important, it's more about keeping match sharpness. I'd rather we went on a South American tour btw!

Doesn't matter what's good for the team, it's about what's good for the fans! Or so you'd think. Playing Northern Ireland was probably a good choice given our next game, yet the most common reaction after the announcement was how uninspiring a choice of friendly it was.

I guess it depends what you mean by 'imports' but according to wiki their last squad had 8 players born out with Qatar. Our last squad had 6 from outside Scotland! There 8 were made up of 2 x France, Bahrain, Senegal, Kuwait, Sudan, Algeria, Egypt and DR Congo.

I heard there'll be a third strip released in September. Limited edition apparently.

The two games last week were crying out for Adam imo. We had so much possession and lacked a killer pass, which is one thing Adam can do. Could be useful in Georgia and Gibraltar games. Can certainly see Bannan being involved in them.

Unusual for the draw to be a Saturday. I'll take NI's group!! Ha. All new places to watch Scotland for me.

I only got in to whisky a few years ago and found Jura Origin a good starter. Still enjoy it. Tend to treat myself on the way back from hols and buy a different bottle. Initially I couldn't stand peaty ones but found recently having laphroig, talisker and a few others that it's equally as palatable now. Current favourite is probably Old Pulteney or Bruichladdich Never tried one but quite fancy trying some Japanese whisky.

The first half v Wales was by far the worst I've seen. Yet after scoring we went on the dominate for a spell until they got the pen. If snoddys shot had been an inch or two to the left we'd have won comfortably. Unbelievable considering how bad the first half was. If we get 10 points in the second half of campaign then I think we'll get 2nd.

I'd agree the addition of Bannan made a massive difference. He actually looked like making a penetrating pass where as prior to that we passed the ball sideways constantly. Morrison in particular struggled I felt. Dare I say it, this game would have suited Charlie Adam. Thought Anya was also poor and he didn't link with Robertson well, who was better after Anya went off and he could run into space. Fletcher needs to start using his right foot. Just the keeper to beat and he fresh aired it after a great ball from Hutton. In first half he hit post with a cute shot with his left when it would have been easier to use his right. He should have had two hatricks yesterday. Missed a great chance at home to Ireland trying to back heel it in mid air.
