  2. Depends on your budget If you want a knockout location try le train bleu at Gare de Lyons http://www.le-train-bleu.com/uk/index.php I would also recommend either of the Paul Bert restaurants although they are well off the tourist trail. However they are well worth the hike. The rum baba is something else. They put the cake in front of you with a bottle of rum and you can add as much or as little as you want. My mate went to the Jules Verne in the Eiffel Tower but that was nose bleedingly expensive Bowfinger at the Bastille is also a lovely location and quality food with good service. There is also a restaurant bar at the top of the Pompidou Centre which gives good views over Paris
  3. Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery
  4. Sure, let me know and I will keep you one.
  5. LA are proud to announce the launch of a new t-shirt for the WC2018 qualifiers. The t-shirt will be black with white lettering and image They will be available in the next three weeks and on sale in Georgia. £10 each plus £3.50 p&p PM me for details of payment
  6. Have had some t-shirts produced so the Elite TA can be noticed and appreciated for the TA gods they are. £10 each plus £3.50 p&p. PM me for payment details. All sizes available from XXL to Small.
  7. Define cheap to begin with? Always found Ibis to be the best bet if you want a chain. If you are prepared to go to somewhere like La Defense which is quite an interesting, if very modern area, you might get some reasonable deals. Good links to all the sights but not what your average tourist is looking for in terms of the Paris experience
  8. LA are organising a summer pub crawl to coincide with the draw for the WC 2018 qualifiers on Saturday. We are, sharp intake of breath, heading south of the river and will be kicking off in the Cutty Sark at Greenwich at 2pm. All welcome. Anyone wanting more details PM me but there's not a lot to add really
  9. Will also be there for the rugby though not so sure about going to the game. Have been twice before on rugby trips, right at the very start when they played in that great wee stadium. Incredible to think they are now filling the stadio olimpico. Was there for new year last year and enjoyed it so much we are going again Will be in touch next year after the latest visit. Hope you like your grub as its all fantastic
  10. When you go on the site and try to book with BA, you should get an offer at the end of the booking to use them to reduce the cost of the flight. I've been doing that of late and it makes a bit of a difference. Was offered £75 off a flight for 11000 points last week.
  11. Our pathfinder Simon Kellas has been out and about scouting locations and damaging his liver all so that we can have a good old knees pub crawl round the east end on the 25th of July. Slightly concerned we are going south of the river at one point but what is life without a little adventure. Can you let me know if you plan to attend Kevin Details below Here is my final proposal for the pub crawl. I have settled on seven pubs. It involves a quick journey in the Thames Tunnel (Overground) between #4 and #5 where a tedious lecture about Brunel's tunnel is available free of charge with no option! I suggest naming the Prospect of Whitby as the eating place - it could be shunted up the bill from #5 to #6 if necessary. https://www.google.com/maps/d/edit… There is a good mix of local (ish) and riverside. No walk should be longer than 5 minutes
  12. The LA St Andrews Night will be held in the Crowne Plaza Hotel, Heathrow on the 28th of November, 2015. This will be a black tie event. The highlight of the evening will be an after dinner speech by John Rowbotham, one of Scotland’s top referees when he officiated and a noted after dinner speaker. There will be a three course Haggis meal (or veggie option) and, as ever, the club will be providing a few drinks each. . Live music will be provided by the well known London ceilidh band, Licence to Ceilidh. Anyone who was fortunate enough to attend their performance at the London Ceilidh Club on St Andrews night last year will know they are an excellent band who can get a room moving, one way or another! Each ticket bought will automatically enter the buyer into the raffle for the star prize of the night. As usual the club will be offering an early bird deal offering savings to anyone who wishes to buy their tickets early. The price for the early bird ticket is £37.50 for members and £42.50 for non members. Anyone buying a ticket after 31st August will pay £42.50 as a member and £47.50 as a non member. In these times of austerity, the club would appreciate direct payments to our bank account, but for anyone who wishes to pay with PayPal, we’ll be able to arrange this, but there’ll will be an additional charge to cover the PayPal costs (PayPal links will be appearing on the website shortly). . It’s shaping up to be another great LA night with a fair number of tickets pre ordered already so get your tickets bought lest you miss out! Anyone who wants to place a booking for a table please contact Fiona Stout at Fiona.stout73@yahoo.co.uk and Fiona will be happy to make arrangements and provide the LA account details.

  16. You might struggle in that case. Lot of places don't welcome stag parties as I found out on one but that was nearly 20 years ago. The dogs is a great night though it can get Baltic. If you reserve a table you might be able to get waitress service for food drinks and bets
  17. Great place, good bars, great eats, wide variety of things to do. If you are into real ale i would recommend the Ginger Dog or the Heart in Hand though the latter is tiny. Both a wee walk out of the centre but worth to for the grub at the GD. Dermot O'Leary's fish place is also good in the Lanes. Also ate in a sushi bar called Mushi Mushi which was excellent. Lived there for a year and loved it.
  18. Badges now in stock and available at www.loonyalba.com
  19. Over priced, expensive, ignorant people and staff, bent cops looking for easy arrests to fund their pension, just don't bother.
  20. I would head to St Catherine area. There is a goof bar called the Monk and then one further down the same road called Roskamp (?) When we were there for the last game they had a fantastic Johny Cash tribute band on. Across the road from the Roskamp is a grey Belgian restaurant called Pret Salle. Not particularly tourist friendly but the food is excellent. I would book. Lots of good bars around that area then you have the other Belgian beer bars. I would also walk up to the old town and try Place Sablon. Great cafes, Armani and a truly awesome chocolate shop. If its good weather and you want to get out I would by pass Bruges and go to Ostend. Fantastic beach and seafood restaurants.
  21. DNA? Complete and utter sank nonsense that Regan or Doncaster would be proud of. em!
