  1. I suppose that is the crux of the matter. None of our 'english' players have turned their backs on 'their' country, McGeady and McCarthy did.
  2. Black got booed at a game at easter road because he used to play for Hearts, nothing to do with rangers
  3. good to see the new firm on solid foundations now, could we actually see a realistic challenge in the next few years at the top of Scottish football? I doubt it but it would be great to see. Meanwhile rangers stumble along, trading while insolvent
  4. hardly surprising that a jewish university tries to discredit the bible
  5. been asked on kickback and nobody really answered but not sure if he only qualifies due to schooling as he was born in England. I would assume that with a name like he has he would have Scottish blood
  6. a couple english, one leaning to Scottish and 2 50/50. Now what? Anyway, I can see this is getting nowhere so I'll continue to support anyone in the blue of Scotland and you can continue to support only those who you feel are sufficiently Scottish for you
  7. oh dear, that's so simplistic but I guess you know that. Some of grandsons have an english father and a Scottish mother, most of them were born in england and most of them live in Scotland. What are they???
  8. In an ideal World every one of our players would be born and bred Scotsmen, in fact when I was younger I would have gone further and said if you don't play in Scotland you can't play for Scotland. Luckily I have matured over the years and recognise that nationality is not cut and dried. I want Scotland to do as well as possible while sticking to the rules of international football. Bardsley has played 13 times for us and has never let us down, that will do for me
  9. I support whoever plays for Hearts and whoever plays for Scotland
  10. delighted for Patterson and, as he is suspended for next weekend, no disruption to Hearts either.
  11. couldn't disagree more. Whenever rangers fans are attacked on here for being a totally obnoxious bunch of idiots it is almost always all rangers fans being accused (and I admit I am guilty of this). I don't see any difference at all in how other fans talk about either half. And to say that aberdeen fans are more critical of celtic than rangers is totally laughable
  12. true but some hibs fans try and use the occasion to have a go at our club. of course there will always be a few idiots who try and take the links between HMFC and the 1st World War too far but the club have always handled it just right IMO
  13. rubbish and no idea what you are on about us benefiting financially from this. No idea what 'this' is? If you mean the poppy shirts all extra profits are going to charities. Maybe you could take a leaf out of your chairman, or whatever position he holds now, Mr Petrie, who I met today while he represented the hundreds of hibs fans and players that joined McCraes at the Haymarket memorial today, showing respect to all the fallen and not trying to score cheap points
  14. so because you don't agree with him he is daft and childish?? The reason he made the statement is that last year he got dogs abuse for refusing to wear the poppy shirt while playing for Sunderland so felt the need to explain his reasons this time. I fully support his refusing to wear the poppy, and I say that as someone who lost a mate to the IRA
  15. don't think I have ever seen a Scotland flag with a football team on it. Plenty with towns but not clubs. You see a lot of them on england flags, although usually the smaller english teams
  16. Bardsley has been playing for Scotland for years so I doubt you getting all upset at them mention of his name is going to make Strachan drop him. It's just boring
  17. well I was nodding in agreement until your last 5 words
  18. being an old fart I'm rarely out on a Saturday night so I usually watch this. Used to quite enjoy it but the last few years have been a joke with very very average singers being touted as the next big thing just so Cowell can make some money off them. And don't get me started on Cheryl and her mime act
