wanderer
Did Glasgow-Belfast for the Ireland Carling Cup game..... flight across is nothing (drinks trolley had barely served 3 rows before captain put seatbelt sign on for landing!) but word of warning, allow plenty of time between flight and train. We landed at Belfast Airport to be told there was a bomb threat on the main road between city centre and airport, so driver had to take us the scenic route through the back roads, over the hills and down into the city through the Falls Road. Train down to Dublin was easy and not all that expensive.

A8rownlie
Tell the Car Hire desk in Belfast you are crossing the Border with the car and you'll get stung for a Cross Border Insurance charge (was £23 for 24 hours last time I did it) but I'm one who prefers not to take the risk of not telling them. They will probably ask you what your plans are for the weekend rather than bluntly ask if you plan to cross the border ... unless you are in full game attire :-)
