I booked a room in Edinburgh for two nights for a week Saturday and they phoned me today to say they were cancelling the booking and refunding the money as the hotel had an agreement with an agency they used that meant the summer timetable meant an end of the agreement. Complete nonsense imho so I phoned the hotel who said I was booked in. Checked online and Amoma are still pushing rooms in the hotel but at twice the price I originally paid. I get the feeling they can see a way to make a few quid when hotel prices go up by refunding the booking and then selling the cancelled rooms on. Anyone else had this happen to them and were you able to do anything about it?
