  4. It certainly was - and sunshine too! The German fans were great.
  5. I found mine the other day.......a Wembley 1983 purchase. Hadn't seen it in years. A mix of Saltires and Lion Rampant flags would look terrific
  6. http://www.radiotimes.com/news/2015-09-03/meet-the-cast-of-cradle-to-grave I enjoyed 'Cradle to Grave' last night
  7. A hard subject. Yes the UK should indeed do more - historically we have but the Tory government will see this as a vote loser, not a vote winner. Germany's taking an admirable lead but we cannot ignore the fact that along with Italy and Japan they have one of the most rapidly aging populations in the world. So in the longer term migrants will benefit them and cities like Berlin still have a smaller population now than they did pre 1939.
  8. Standard ...... saw them when they were Pogue Mahone at the John F Kennedy Centre Camden Town c.1983/4 and McGowan was hammered. Not good....
  9. Superb! From Wikipedia: " The song was inspired by an incident on 27 January 1973 when The Sweet were performing at the Grand Hall in Kilmarnock, Scotland and were driven offstage by a barrage of bottles". Anyone there? "Blockbuster" was charting at that time. How could the folks of Killie bottle them off?!
  10. Does anyone have a copy of this that they could transfer to dvd? I recall it was decent viewing and would like to see it again. Obviously I'll pay for the dvd and postage.
  11. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0193854/ Anyone seen this? The thought of Robert Duvall playing a Scottish football manager is hard to believe!
  12. Yep - Stirling Castle is hard to beat. Culross is great too http://www.undiscoveredscotland.co.uk/culross/culross/index.html
  13. I was there too - April '83. New Order live were always very hit or miss. I've seen them much worse than this gig! Worst for me was Simple Minds c.1985 at Hammersmith Odeon. About 2 minutes into a song I only then realised then that they were playing 'The American' . Awful - I looked at my girlfriend and asked 'are you enjoying this?'. 'No' was the answer, so we walked out. The only time in 38 years of gig going that I've walked out on a band. Nicest gig surprise was the day of the England v Scotland game in May 1988. I went to see the Sugarcubes after the match at the Cambridge Theatre and just after the doors had opened the Jesus and Mary Chain ambled onstage, played 4 songs and then ambled off. Stuart Cosgrove was sat in front of me. A nice, unexpected surprise.
  14. I've had 3 Panasonic Lumix cameras over the years - all have been great. http://www.panasonic.com/uk/consumer/cameras-camcorders/lumix-digital-cameras---point-and-shoot.html Good quality photos, great zoom and very high quality video. The sound quality with the video is also very good - on many cameras it's rotten
  15. Oh we've had more than our fair share of those over the years.....
