  1. He was injured in the match against Patizan Belgrade. He was hobbling for five minutes, but he had to go off as he couldnt stay on his feet. It was an ankle injury on Thursday, the same today. Remember that he drove up for a dead rubber against San Marino, (whilst being suspended against Russia.) playing in typhoon conditions. There's no doubting his commitment to Scotland.
  2. MOTM When we produce a Fabinho then Robertson can play wide.
  3. Actually, yes. Remember the 96/97 European Cup final? Paul Lambert played as the Borussia Dortmund anchorman and set up the first goal by whipping a ball in from the right. (As well as marking Zidane out of the match and being MOTM) Just because a player plays in a position it doesnt mean they're static for 90 minutes. Watch from 1:22 - https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=dUJB_80-iJ8 Full match: https://footballia.net/matches/borussia-dortmund-juventus-fc-champions-league
  4. McTominay should not have started. The knock he got a few days ago was bad enough, but this is just insult to injury. If there's s chance he'll play for us, he'll play. If he's out then it must be serious. Hd isn't cut from the Tierney mould.
  5. OGS: "Over on his ankle. Painful one. I had one and was out for eight weeks. Could be out for two. We will see." I'll add "Mystic" to my list of talents.
  6. For Scotland he's never in a position to whip the ball in. Scotland lose the ball so frequently that he's usually always at left back. At Liverpool he's pretty much a winger. This is why he's getting so much abuse. Scotland fans expect him to replicats his club form, but he can't. Your best players should be in the middle, especially if you're weak in the middle, which we are. Look at David Alaba and Joshua Kimmich. Both play full back for their club, anchorman for country.
  7. For Liverpool or for Scotland? For Liverpool: They have probably the best anchorman in the EPL in Fabinho. So Robertson wouldn't play in the anchorman position for Liverpool. For Scotland: We dont have Alexander-Armold or Salah, so Robertson wouldn't have had the chance to create the goal.
  8. Not yet. He went into the game with an ankle injury, and he took another knock on his ankle today. Didn't look nice at all.
  9. The SFA should take it out of their hands by introducing a homegrown rule. It's just not good enough.
  10. He must be one of the most fouled players in the EPL. How Brighton ended the match with 11 men I do not know.
  11. The Old Firm with a combined three eligle Scots. Also, does anyone know anything about Lamie? The guy that was accused of being me (Rab something) raved about him. He also claimed that Lamie was an anchorman, but he seems to be a center back.
  12. Manchester United are a strange team. They're just unable to score a clean goal. First one was from a heavy deflection and the second was an own goal.
  13. Scott McTominay makes it 2:0. Lengthy VAR check... Or not.... Own goal.
  14. Thinking about it, I'm forever being called repetitive (notice the irony?) and yet the above previous is proof-positive that certain people haven't really read what I've been saying, at all. I'll make it simple, for the illiterate: - 3 at the back is not a magic wand - I prefer 4 at the back Plus, another funny thing is I'm forever being called a troll, and yet people make flybye bitchy remarks in my direction (in my threads). I don't ever recall doing ever doing the same. (More irony)
  15. The shirt situation I'm totally and completely in agreement. If I was the SFA president I would've gotten on the phone, the moment the kit was leaked, and demanded a redesign. As for the commentators, I don't really care who's commentating on Scotland matches. It's the least of our concerns.
  16. And another one who doesnt understand the sheer fundamentals of football and simply doesnt get it Leicester City have the second best midfield in the EPL. Far better than Arsenal's. Rogers is a better manager than Emery... Arsenal are actively looking for a replacement. Forming the same uncoached and confused players into a different formation won't bridge the aforementioned gaps. Pretty much why we brought Clarke in, he was supposed to organize the team and coach them so that we're hard to beat. That's a simple one.
  17. That's pretty much word-for-word what I was going to say. Plus, when Forrest and Fraser gave their best performances for Scotland it wasnt out wide. They were both in a narrow three up front.
  18. Yes, on all three counts. When Manchester United aren't playing I usually watch Sheffield United (they very rarely play on the same day). Their brand of football, with the innovative overlapping center backs, is fantastic to watch. Seriously, it's like night and day. Manchester United are like watching Scotland now and watching Sheffield United is like watching Scotland (96-99). Just shows what you can do if you have a clear plan, drill it into the players, create overloads in every position of the pitch and have natural and perpetual angles and movement. Sheffield United are showing that you don't need world class players to compete against better teams. As opposed to Steve Clarke and his static, zombie football.
  19. Another amazing display by Sheffield United and their fluent 3-5-2 system. Not only are they organised and hard-working but they also play some of the slickest football I've seen in the EPL outside Manchester City. Currently 5th in the EPL. Ended 1:1 today against Tottenham but Sheffield United had a perfectly good goal ruled out. Market value of Tottenham's starting XI: £554.8m Market value of Sheffield United's starting XI: £44.3m Hopefully Steve Clarke is taking note. Probably not, though, as he'll stick to making us "hard to beat" with the 4-2-3-1...
  20. Good for you. Honestly, I don't think anyone with a shred of brain and sense would see anything wrong with it. Some people just want something to moan about or be up-in-arms about. To thine own self be true.
