  1. If he, or his club, has said he's not fit when he actually is then we forget about him and move on.
  2. looking back at eck's quotes today it seems maybe he's been asked to be left out? a lot of talk about how he's played a lot more football under Bruce and it's affecting his body
  3. Bannan has played best for Scotland when we're up against so called weaker sides who like to sit back. He seems to be good at unlocking their defences but struggles against better sides. He might come in handy in the next 2 games...
  4. I have enough confidence in Bates & McKenna with McTominay in front of them that we wouldn't have to play players out of position to make us harder to break down.
  5. Also, I have nothing against 3 at the back as a system, I just don't think it suits our better players and we need to play to their strengths.
  6. Hard to compare our players to a lad who's streaks ahead of the rest of the Austrian team and one of germany's top younger players
  7. Just read he's been out 4 times already this year because of 'illness'. someone get the lad some Imodium, we need him fit and scoring
  8. Sure but when our best player has said he doesn't feel comfortable playing wing back, then why play him there? Forrest played his best 2 games for scotland as part of a front 3. why then move him to a forward 2? Why move Fraser into a midfield 3? It's playing players out of position just for the sake of it instead of playing a system that suits the limited pool we have and gets the best out of them.
  9. I think we'll struggle if we're playing multiple players out of position
  10. Cardiff & Bournemouth have said they don't want Paterson or Fraser playing on the plastic pitch due to past injuries
  11. I remember the doom & gloom before the last 2 games and question marks over whether we had enough quality and we went on to produce 2 of our best performances for a long time
  12. Eck compared him to Fletcher, saying he has the best hold up play out of the forwards in this squad
  13. I wouldn't include McArthur in that as he's retired over physical issues and he's always put in a shift for Scotland. Brown I don't think should have come out of retirement last time as he looked past his best at international level and I'd much rather have the likes of McGregor, McTominay & Armstrong I'd love to see Cairney, Ritchie & Snoddy play again but it seems they each have their own individual reasons
  14. With Fraser unavailable for the first game I'd probably go with a front 3 of Forrest, McBurnie & Burke taking Fraser's spot
  15. It's come from their clubs apparently. To be honest, if either did get injured then the SFA would probably struggle to pay the compensation
  16. A shame Clark is injured as he's deserved a callup. I'd much rather have Kelly over Archer and i'm surprised McLaughlin has been called up when Sunderland have a game that weekend and I can't see him getting on the pitch.
  17. Surprised Mulgrew is in, I thought he was injured
  18. Probably just paper talk but Scotland are supposed to be going back in for Gunn. Apparently his dad and Peter Grant are good pals so they feel like they can convince him he should play for us
  19. there's already a thread on this
  20. Bain will probably get the nod but I'd go for Kelly to replace McGregor
  21. I think my 3 keepers for the squad would now be Bain, Kelly & McLaughlin though i'd be tempted by MacGillivray for the 3rd spot
  22. I'd have to go with Harper or Brophy for the final forward spot in the squad and Paterson would be in as a utility player so you know he could do a job if needed.
  23. McLeish already said last week he's going to name Allan McGregor and that there are no issues
