  1. Yeah I read it, he has a sore knee so he's sent back as a precaution. So no actual injury then just a sore knee.... Wonder if it was a West Bromwich game this weekend if he would be in the squad
  2. What the hells wrong with Burke? He was fine last week playing for West Bromwich second string in the cup. He hasn't started a league game all season you would think a Scotland U21 game might actually benefit him. Better be a legitimate reason or really starting to worry his attitude is the reason he won't make full use of his talent
  3. That's a cracker, and I just hope that's where Scotland fans appreciate his talents lie. He is very much a Kante type player, much like Fletcher was in his prime so I just hope the TA don't expect a Giggs or Ronaldo playing for us
  4. Tony Watt wins player of the month award ahead of Naismith.....
  5. Well I would say none of them are guaranteed starters whereas Robertson is. Robertson leads by example and is also a regular starter for one of the biggest clubs in the world. It's a no brainer when you think about it
  6. There was only one choice really... Andy Robertson. Well deserved. An absolute inspiration to every young Scottish kid starting out in the game.
  7. Very interesting comments regarding Saturdays match as I was looking for some info on the match up between Fleck and McGinn on Saturday. Both I feel are very similar players and both probably around the same level. It looks like Fleck came out on top this time but Steve Bruce did say McGinn was carrying an injury. Hope it's not too serious but may just open the door for Fleck.
  8. Truth hurts suppose eh lol but as you said even Warnock said it! We would have absolutely no attacking outlet on the right if he played wing back. Wing Backs in a 3-5-2 have to give you your width and we would have no threat with Paterson playing there. Unfortunately as much as I don't rate him for Scotland Forrest is our only option there
  9. Paterson offers nothing at right wing back as he's crap going forward and crap defensively. Fraser has to start in an attacking position.
  10. As much as I hate Hampden in its current condition, surely it is a no brained to purchase the stadium from Queens Park. I've heard figures quoted that Queens want 6 million and the SFA want to pay closer to 2 million so even say they meet in the middle at 4 million. That is surely a steal. Everyone knows upgrades are needed, but these can then be done over the next 5 years and I am sure Scotland fans will be happy with this as long as they see the upgrades progressing over that time. We have put up with it this long so I'm sure we can put up for it a bit longer knowing that now the stadium is in the hands of the SFA that every penny will at least be going back into Scottish Football. Why the SFA wouldn't buy the stadium and pay rent on another stadium I can't get my head around. Why rent a home when you can buy one
  11. St Johnstone fans are about to kick off.....
  12. We need Armstrong, McGinn, Robertson and Fraser in our team as they are all great at pressing the ball which is our strength and how the fans like to see us play. Would love McGregor in there too but if we play a pressing a game we need someone holding so behind that you need a holding Midfielder and last time McTominay played against Hazard he marked him out the game so get him in and tell him to do a job sitting in there.
  13. I reckon v Belgium we will play like this... Gordon O'Donnell Souttar Mulgrew. Tierney McTominay Armstrong. McGinn Fraser. Robertson Griffiths

    Tony Watt

Watt needs to bang the goals in for at least 6 months before he gets back in the Scotland Squad. I wouldn't write him off just yet. Remember it wasn't until Griffiths came back up the road to play for Hibs he started to get spoken about again. Watt is as talented as Griffith's was at that age so if he can show consistency and score goals he will get spoken about also
  15. Lithuania at home, Slovakia away and England away are all good places to start. There's a reason he got bombed out the starting line up in favour of Berra and Mulgrew last campaign. His last game against Costa Rica he done nothing but show he still controls a football like a hot potato! Hendry comes in next game against Hungary and makes more impression in one game than Hanley has managed in any of his previous caps.
  16. Then imagine what they will do to Hanley who has had horror shows against worse teams than Hungary!
  17. Was anything but garbage on his Scotland debut. A first cap, a clean sheet and a great performance.
  18. I see Celtics defending was attrocious last night without Jack Hendry, seems it isn't all his fault after all
  19. Really don't know why Hendry is being hung out to dry especially by Scotland fans when he played really well against Hungary away from home, in fact he was far far better than Hanley who played in the Costa Rican game. He's been thrown in the deep end at Celtic with no help whatsoever and been made a bit of a scapegoat when he hasn't allayed nearly as bad as some people make out. He's made a few mistakes but that's to be expected since he'd never played European level before. He's learning and having to learn fast, he's doing alright to be honest and clearly has talent. Desperately needs an older more experienced guy beside him to guide him and learn from
  20. There is also another glaringly obvious reason a back Four isn't great for us.... We actually don't have one single decent international level right back!
  21. You are probably right with that tbf and I have been guilty of wanting to shoe horn Tierney into a system which might suit him and Robertson as well. I think there are arguments for both systems it is a tough one and Eck has been a bit unlucky that he hasn't had both of them in the same squad for the last few games to try different systems. Let's just hope he pulls something that works out the bag
  22. That sounds very promising, let's hope he doesn't get that record on Saturday though! Cmon ye Pars!
  23. Yeah you're right actually need to fit Fraser in as well, his best position is as a winger but can see Eck playing him right wing back for Scotland
  24. They are being kept out by more experienced players who are playing well, not because they aren't talented players. If it's not happening at their clubs they need to go somewhere they will get a game. Football is not rocket science, to become better you have to play. They might not be good enough to play for their current clubs right now, but they never will be if they don't go and actually play the game and improve. Bold statement about Gilmour but there is something about him and he seems to jump the levels with ease, wouldn't be surprised to see him capped for Scotland at 18 or 19
  25. I'm warming to the idea of him and Griff up top together and a midfield of mcginn, Armstrong and mcgregor
