  1. Is Clarkes contract not up at end of season? Surely there would be minimal compensation if any
  2. Yeah McPake, Mebude and Kennedy the standouts for Rangers. Dembele showed in flashes the talent he has, so comfortable on the ball, Cameron Harper looked dangerous also.
  3. Gilmour second half yesterday ran the show and dragged Chelsea back in to the game, their equaliser was all due to his vision, lovely ball over the defence to pick out the runner. The boy can not only spot a pass but he can execute it. I always remember Jamie Redknapp talking about Stevie Gerrard coming into the Liverpool side at a young age and the first thing he did was pick a 40 yard pass right on to the toe of someone on the opposite side of the pitch and he knew then that he was a player. Gilmour has this in his locker. He picks passes without even thinking about it. He can play short passes in between the lines but also plays those long field passes us as fans see every game but some players just aren't capable of pulling it off. He sees them and he can execute them, and that is at 17. He looks a real talent.
  4. You have completely went off track as usual. No one on this thread at all said anything like these young kids are the second coming or the players that we are all pinning our hopes on. All that was said is that a lot of the players looked technically very good and that it was a great game of football. No one said these kids are potential world beaters. And you haven't reserved judgement at all, you made your judgement and made comments that it was probably like watching a volleyball match without even watching the game. Maybe you should take heed off your comment and really reserve judgement until you actually see something with your own eyes before passing comment instead of posting negative drivel
  5. On a side note Billy Gilmour plays today in the European Youth League vs Barcelona live on BT Sport at 5pm for anyone interested
  6. See what is the need for comments like that. You never even watched the match so why pass comment like that. I agree with you on a lot of things especially on how we can promote youth and bring through better players in this country but you are becoming a constant source of negativity on every single topic posted on here. That Youth Cup Final last night was something to be positive about and the fact Rangers won it with 8 Scots in their team even more so. That Rangers team also won a prestigious Youth Cup a few months ago beating a lot of top quality teams. There does appear to be a lot more technically gifted players emerging which is positive. It isn't all negative all the time. Getting these players through is the hard part and another conversation but for now it is great to see so many talented young players put on a show last night at Hampden
  7. Firstly Mcdonald isn't even playing in the most overhyped league in the world he is a bench warmer at best. Secondly it isnt even matter of fact that it is the best league in the world... Don't believe the hype Lastly I just explained why I think McGregor is a good player as I have watched him perform brilliantly against the likes of Bayern Munich and Zenit none of which were made up of free transfers. If you want to make points fine but don't make comments which are made out to be a matter of fact when they are not
  8. We would all love a team full of top players, I'd love 11 Top Internationals in our starting line up all playing for the top clubs in Europe but the fact is you don't need 11 Top Internationals to qualify for a World Cup or Euros. Your comparison of Kevin Mcdonald and Calum McGregor though is nonsense as McGregor is a better player than him. Mcdonald is a mediocre player
  9. I don't believe any hype and I don't choose to believe something just because you say so either. I believe what I see with my own eyes and for me Calum McGregor is a good player. I have watched him play well for Celtic on numerous occasions in Europe notably against bayern Munich and zenit St Peters burg where he scored an absolutely class goal
  10. Very unfair on Calum McGregor who has produced Man of the Match performances and big goals in Europe for Celtic.
  11. I don't want to say... But I want to say I know, n I'm no telling yez... Jog on
  12. Cooper should be in the squad to be fair and potentially starting. He has odd bombscare moments but in general he is good and his leadership qualities are something we sorely miss at the back
  13. Carney is a very strange one to be honest said in a few interviews about his pride at playing for Scotland at youth level as well. Tbf he just hasn't been playing well enough this season anyway to warrant a place ahead of some others
  14. Oh and btw McTominay won 100 percent of his tackles last night, 100 percent of his Aerial Duals and had a pass completion of 80 percent. Boy has everything in the middle of the park
  15. What's the thoughts on Ross McCrorie as the potential anchorman. Always seems to be picked for the bigger games against better sides by Gerrard and has a cracking win ratio with him in the side. Against lesser sides it is understandable there may not be a need for him but against more difficult opponents he seems to break up the play and win the ball back very well. Any Rangers fans have any thoughts on him?
  16. That will be him in ahead of McTominay v Cyprus
  17. And yes McTominay Fraser and Robertson could all potentially play for a top 6 side but 2 got their move, Fraser being one of those hopefully, to those sides on the back of their performances in their NATURAL positions. I'm sorry and I agree with you on a lot of things but this 352 fascination is getting out of hand. As I explained before it may be useful in certain games, but playing a formation the players aren't used to in positions they aren't used to is mad. Anyway agree to disagree on this one
  18. I thought your midfield 3 was McGregor Robertson and Mctominay now Fraser is in there. That is 3 central Midfielders with only one a natural central midfielder. And who exactly is to play right wing back since we have no one at all capable of the role. And please don't even mention that duffer O'Donnell
  19. He is probably our best maybe even our only option as anchor man though unfortunately. Wherever he plays in midfield though I believe he will be our best midfielder
  20. Fred appears to be the anchor man in this game with McTominay got a little licence to press higher up the pitch
  21. The power of the press is what's required here. Someone on our wavelength who understands what the fans are going through and why we want change. Bill Leckie is the man to get the ball rolling, anyone got his number
  22. It really is rather scandalous the way the SFA is run. For Rod Petrie to be able to waltz into power competely unappossed is unacceptable. What is this man going to do to change the face of Scottish Football. What fresh ideas and initiatives is he going to bring to the table. Absolutely nothing. He has been number 2 at the SFA for long enough and been involved in every disastrous decision made in those offices during that time. It is a disgrace he has somehow now been promoted! The way a president is elected in the SFA must change. There must be a selection of candidates, with ideas, plans forward thinking and a vision and these candidates must be whittled down to two or three and voted in by board members AND fans. The fans have the right to have an input into deciding who sits at the top table as it is our money paying their wages. It must change. How we bring about change is another question
  23. What is amusing is that in the space of a few days fans on this forum have at least come up with some fresh inventive ideas to bring players through and improve the national team. Have the SFA actually ever even thought of these things? Have the SFA ever actually shown any initiative? It is a glaring issue the lack of opportunities for young Scottish players in our top league and they have done nothing to tackle the issue. I actually think they will introduce a homegrown player rule here eventually, but only because they will finally realise England are a step ahead and started this already. Since our game only ever seems to copy everything they do down there it will probably happen. Which may not be a bad thing these days as they seem to finally be getting it right down there, but christ the men in charge at the SFA really are still in the stone age. No plan, no ideas, no initiative
  24. Unfortunately for us our best players aren't always available for one reason or another, let's not get into that again though, and the back up to these guys are on a far lower level. There is a few right good talented players in the squad though specifically the ones you have mentioned. If we could just add a couple of important pieces namely a top centre half and top centre forward you would be very confident in our side if we had a decent manager organising them.
  25. Still another game in Scotlands top league where they can't field a team of Scots between them
