  1. Id rather have our best players, who are committed when it matters than inferior players who would be there all the time. We all want our best players available all the time but your cutting your nose off to spite your face by taking your approach
  2. Nonsense. He's a good player who would be that whether in Scotland or not. McGregor and morelos nothing to do with Jack, he's a good player and exactly the sort we need more of. Look at Sheff utd humping man utd just now, loads of Ryan Jack type players in the Sheff utd team.
  3. They don't appear to just now but they have some of the best Scottish youth players so not playing them in future would be negligent. Oh wait...... 😉
  4. No that goal doesn't. Surely your not saying he's not a good player though? 🙄
  5. Not many. But then again you'd probably have a lot more retirements
  6. Yep, got torn apart. Although White didn't help him much tbf
  7. Well it can’t be down to ability so what else?
  8. Quite like souttar as a footballer but why after the last 2 games do people see McKenna as a better bet than Gallagher? Is it because he only plays for motherwell perhaps......
  9. Interesting but too offensive. Robertson and Tierney are full backs so don't think they could play both either side of a pretty average centre back in McKenna. Don't like both Fraser and forrest as wing backs either. Other than Gallagher for McKenna and Palmer for forrest I would have same personell in 4231
  10. Who drops out to accommodate the extra striker?
  11. Marshall Palmer Gallagher Tierney Robertson Jack McTominay Christie McGinn Fraser Griffiths Marshall - McGregor isn’t coming back so I think Marshall is the best available. Palmer - solid and composed full back. Don’t like Tierney at right back. Gallagher - really impressed by him over the last 2 games. Solid, strong and composed. Don’t see any reason why he can’t continue that against better players. Tierney - strong, quick and a leader. Top player who is more than capable of playing in the middle. Plus he is better than McKenna. McTominay - I think he’ll walk back into the team and if put beside a more defensive midfielder can get forward and be a threat. Jack - to me provides better balance with McTominay than mcgregor who whole need and tidy is weak and not defensively minded. Christie - class act and playing off the right allows him to come inside and shoot, play through balls or switch play to Fraser. mcginn Fraser - in my view better than Forrest on the left and probably a slightly better player overall. Griffiths - big doubts over him but he’s our best striker, although he isn’t the best link up player so a little concerned on what impact that would have on the midfielders behind.
  12. I'd be happy with Gallagher and Tierney. One calm, no nonsense big defender. The other athletic, pacey and with quality. 👍
  13. But it’s not. agree to disagree
  14. For what it’s worth; the reasons he is running towards his own goal are 1) because you run faster forwards than you do backwards. If he ran backwards to ensure he headed it facing away from his goal as you suggested he would not have won the header and we’d have lost a goal from the header2) because we held a high line at the edge of our box as is common place nowadays. As the ball went into the area between penalty spot and 6 yard line he had to sprint into position to make up ground to head the ball at all, as I said before. the only way he could have headed the ball forwards would have been if we started with a far deeper defensive line which we didn’t.
  15. If only football was easy on the park as it is on a forum eh
  16. If the ball is in front of him then yes. But it wasn't it was behind him so that combined with an agressive attacker meant he was under huge pressure just to get something on it. I think you are being really harsh on him.
  17. I feel there’s a player in there in Burke. Feel though he needs to be on the right which would mean Christie would have to go left which I don’t think suits him as much. I think he’ll keep largely the same team with a few changes to give games to players. Something like marshall palmer, Gallagher, McKenna, Taylor fleck, mcgregor christie mcginn armstrong mcburnie
  18. Look at the pressure he’s under ffs. He did well to win the header at all
  19. Don’t agree with that ....... yet. Although he undoubtedly has a higher ceiling than all 3, he has much to prove at first team level before being considered above any of them. In time I’ve no doubt he will. I think Christie is an excellent player and will be a mainstay alongside Gilmour in the future
  20. I more meant them as being established Scotland players who play in the premier league. im a huge fan of gilmour, think he’ll be the best player produced in Scotland in decades. I’m just saying I can understand how it may be difficult to call him up just now with our strength in his position.
  21. Clarke has established premier league centre midfielders in Armstrong and fleck out the team so as much as I’d love to see Gillmour ASAP, must seem like a bit of an unnecessary call up at this point.
  22. That’s an unbelievably harsh way to look at it. Watch it back, he’s under huge pressure from the number 10 and does really well just to win the header. To criticise him for where that header goes is harsh
  23. Agree re Gallagher. Looked very composed and comfortable.
