I think support for indy will see a slight surge this winter. Ppl are struggling to pay bills and heat their homes. Add in the supreme court ruling then you have a fair few undecideds swinging over to the yes side. England winning the world cup might nudge figures up slightly as well lol. Only problem is actually getting westminster to agree to another referendum.

Never watched their matches but perhaps wales might fair better by ditching bale and ramsay and giving some other guys who are in their prime or upcoming youngsters a chance? Nah they aint going independent anytime before us. They can barely get over 30 percent consistently in the polls. They have done well to promote their language but thats about it. The welsh independence movement are pinning their hopes that scotland going independent will inspire the welsh ppl to rise up. Thats never a good foundation to build on. Would they even get higher polling if we werent pushing for independence? I never understand why ppl want our youngsters to go to epl youth academies, its proven not to be the best route for both our players or even welsh players. Guys like bale and ramsay came through at southampton and cardiff. Both of which were championship clubs at that time. Most of their best players came through at championship clubs where they got games. Fodens not really proof that the big epl clubs consistently produce top players. Hes a one off. Every top epl club has 1 or 2 guys come through every so often that make it to the first team but mostly they buy in guys who were developed at lesser clubs where they got games which developed their careers much more than any top class coaching ever will. A club like Dinamo zagreb probably produce more top players than most big european clubs and they have a tiny budget. Cardiff and swansea consistently produce epl players and they are mostly championship clubs. For me i would rather that all our most talented young players were playing spl or english championship football at ages 18/19-22. Its a much tougher environment and way better for their development than epl youth football ever will.

I think spain or portugal would be a great place for him as its less about pace power than the epl.

Tartan blood was talking about epl academies. Not sure what your point is regarding welsh leagues, i havent mentioned anything about them. I am not suggesting welsh players came through at welsh clubs. They came through at english clubs(swansea and cardiff included). Hopefully we can get our players to come through at english clubs but its not neccessarily epl clubs that are the best place for them which has been shown by the fact that wales best players and our best players dont tend to come through epl youth systems.

Wales success isnt built having young players at fancy epl academies. I dont think many of their best players came through at epl academies. Bale came through at saints when they were in the championship and ramsay came through at cardiff when they were in the championship as well. Joe allen came through when swansea were in league1. Their success is built on getting young players gametime even if its at lower level.

They still had quite a few epl players playing last night. All it would take is for them to produce a few more and a good manager to make the most of that group. Bit like ourselves really. Its very unlikely they produce another bale but a few guys of ramsays standard should keep them qualifying for major tournaments. The welsh have always been passionate about their countrys language and sporting teams but i doubt they ever break free from the uk and that to me proves that their pride in their country is superficial at best. They have always bowed down to their masters and no amount of welsh signs or success in sports can change that fact.

If he gets gametime at newcastle then great but if he doesnt then its not a good move considering hes 21 and never played much in his career. Well the course of action would be to formally apply for another referendum with westminster with the argument that we have a majority wanting independence. What mandates have been washed over before? You do realise only 31 percent of the scottish electorate voted for nationalist parties in the 2021 scottish election and we barely have 50 percent in the polls wanting indy. You need a reality check, the numbers dont add up. Why should westminster grant a referendum when the ppl of scotland have clearly shown they dont want independence. Westminster granted an indy ref in 2014 and we rejected independence, why should the ppl of scotland just be handed another when we wont vote on mass for it. If you feel that plan is a waste of time then whats your alternative solution?

So you want them to disrupt proceedings in westminster? Will that bring about another indyref? If your wanting them to rebel in a serious manner then its not a political party you are wanting. I think what you really want/need is a scottish republican army rather than a political party. Armed struggle is not the snps(or any political partys) responsibility. The mps are not there to physically fight battles. They are effectively like political lawyers there to put forth the publics views and interests and implement change in how the country is run and our case break away from the uk. I dont know why you think they are there to physically fight your battles or rebel and disrupt things. As i asked before whats your solution here? Do we vote in alba? Would they have a better chance of getting indyref2 and would they 'kick off' and rebel if they dont get indyref2? You and the anti snp brigade need to start asking yourself these questions if you are serious about indy. You also have to ask yourself what you are willing to do in terms of civil disobedience or minor rebellion. If the scottish ppl wont rebel then expecting a bunch of politicians to do it for you is delusional to say the least. For me i really dont want to spend my life in prison so i wont sit and expect sturgeon or any other politicians to do something i am not willing to do myself.

If westminster says no to indyref2 then you need ask yourself am i willing to physically kick off and revolt against westminster. Theres only been 1 scottish election since the brexit vote and that was in 2021 in which the snp had indyref2 in their manifesto. What possible way can you have an issue with the timeline of events. Did you expect the snp to have indyref2 in their manifesto in 2016, only 2 years after the first 1? Thats unrealistic to say the least. The uk general elections are a different kettle of fish. Scottish seats only make up small percentage and the snp have less seats now than in 2015 when the scots decided to vote on mass for the snp when it really didnt matter. As i said countless times on here, the prospect of another referendum a few years after the first one was never going to happen and i cant ever remember the snp asking for one or suggesting one takes place. I think you might get one or two who would be willing to turn to armed conflict but i doubt the ppl of scotland would back them enough for it to ever be a serious resistance in the same way the ira or pira were. Scotlands nationalist population is just too small and mentally weak to be fighting any kind of war against the uk. Maybe if the irish and scots were to combine forces then there might be an uprising to be taken seriously but i doubt the scottish side could ever match the irish ppls commitment. Ppl in scotland are just too comfortable to be resorting to widespread violence in a way the other commonwealth countries were forced to under the british empire. I also think its important to remember that the nationalist population in scotland is probably only 3m ppl at most. 3m up against more than 60m and the might of the british armed forces is a mismatch and i genuinely hope no hardline scots decide to take up arms as they will be lambs to the slaughter.

I think this cost of living crisis is really starting to hit home with ppl. Winters pretty much here and scots(and english) cant pay their bills or heat their homes and its finally starting to dawn on everyone that maybe independence would be a better option than getting royally shafted by the tories. I was kind of expecting or hoping that their would be a shift in the polls due to this and maybe this is the start of it. Obviously have to see what future polls say as this might be an outlier or a one off. Its a case of being forced into indy rather than choosing it if the union continues to run for tory elites.

Supreme court have probably helped the indy movement with that decision. Westminster will be under immense pressure to grant indyref2 especially if the polls start showing clear majoritys for it. The indy movement gets to ramp up the pressure with the argument that we are being held against our will. Ppl just have to make sure they vote mostly snp in the next couple elections although i doubt that happens. The country seems to be falling apart with all these strikes and the cost of living etc. Ppl will need someone tangible to blame and sturgeon and the snp could be it. Also ppl dont like the same government being in power for too long and may want change.

Just look at the polling for the last year. Most have a slight lead for the union. In my opinion its probably near 50/50 which isnt great reading considering the mess the uks been in with tory leaders and the energy costs etc.
