  1. With less than a week to go until our biggest match for years you would expect the TAMB to be buzzing. Is there just that much apathy due to us being gash for years or has this forum just died a death?
  2. Doesn't surprise me to hear that. Always seems a decent pub when I've been. I've only ever been in when going to Hampden so couldn't comment on what it's normally like.
  3. Nothing wrong with the Vicky bar mate. Not when there's a Scotland game on anyway. I'm not sure I'd fancy it on a normal Saturday night.
  4. Make yer mind up. You were saying 1-0 to us in your last post.
  5. I think that's the least of his worries to be honest. Unless a miracle happens and we qualify, he's only got 5 games/months left in the joab.
  6. Is it? I've not been there in a couple of years so maybe it is. It was a decent boozer as well Vicky bar is definitely still open though.
  7. They've been struggling away from home (struggling for them anyway) in this campaign so I think we've got a decent chance of getting something from the game. A victory might be a bit ambitious but you never know.
  8. There's a few options. I normally prefer going to the pubs around Central Station if it's going to be a small crowd because you just jump on a train or get a taxi out to Hampden. We might go to Shawlands this time as the trains and taxis will be mobbed from about 2:30 onwards. Or sometimes we go to The Pandora or Victoria Bar on Victoria road but I reckon these will be heaving for this game. The other option is to get a bottle of buckie and hang around Queen's Park like a jakey.
  9. Are you bonny78 in disguise? ???
  10. He was sacked by England after one match for being a bawbag. I personally wouldn't want England's sloppy seconds regardless of where his parents are from.
  11. He'd be on a hiding to nothing. Don't you remember the outcry from some fans when Terry Butcher was involved in the set up? He was also sacked by England for being implicated in corruption. Why would you want that meat sack in charge of our national team?
  12. The Pope's an Argie.
  13. Typical Daily Mail pish. He would be interested? How do they know? There's not a single quote from Moyes saying he's interested. As for Allardyce? There's more chance of the Pope being the next Rangers manager.
  14. There's a few differences though. Rooney and Kane were injured. Our first choice strikers are fit. Defoe is 34, Miller is 37. England were playing Lithuania. We are playing England. Defoe still wants to play for England. Miller has retired from international football. If I wasn't so lazy I could probably think of a few more reasons why your idea is terrible.
  15. That's a good shout. Maybe he could get Frank Spencer as his assistant.
  16. Well you did say you didn't know what he was talking about. Asking Miller to come out of retirement would be a step backwards. The guy is 37 ffs. What does McFadden have to do with it? Are you suggesting Strachan should call him up as well? At least he's younger than Miller I suppose. ?
  17. I keep changing my mind between him being the worlds biggest wind up merchant and him not being aw there. Maybe it's a bit of both.
  18. The defence is obviously important but so is the midfield. There's a reason why no sane manager has ever played a 6-2-2. Have a word with yourself.
  19. Strachan has already explained why Burke wasn't picked and I can understand where he's coming from. I also think we need experienced players for this one so I'm not too bothered that Burke misses out. Strachan barely picked Rhodes when he was starting and banging in the goals so I'm not surprised he's not in either. To be fair, nothing Strachan does surprises me any more. Having said that, I'm pretty happy with his squad this time with the exception of McGregor. There's no way Strachan would have started him though so him not being in the squad doesn't make too much of a difference. I think most managers would have had him in the squad though. He certainly deserves a call up I think.
  20. Ok. Well, one month and 21 days ago was April fools day. Regarding your original post, Kenny Miller has retired from international football and for a good reason. As decent as he was for us, asking him to come out of retirement (I seriously doubt he would consider it anyway) would hardly have England quaking in their boots. He was a good player for us but he was hardly Kenny Dalglish or Denis Law.
  21. Walkabout is normally ok to get in to but the beer tastes like a rat has died in the barrel.
